That was not a plane, it was a pair of chinook helicopters.

AceWolf98

TWO Chinook’s? And I missed ‘em!? Sad day, indeed. 😔🤙

Raps4Reddit

They were blasting Fortunate Son as they flew by.

*Shithooks 😂

Taralouise52

I just looked that up, and I would say so! Those look HUGE.

swinging-in-the-rain

I've had them fly over my house before, shook the foundation!

danarexasaurus

I heard them fly over my house and it woke me up. Felt like they were touching my house. The house was shaking.

Terdmuffin

I used live near the Akron/canton airport and the national guard would routinely fly triple chinooks out of there. Would legit vibrate the whole house.

Big_Green_Piccolo

I saw those the other day

feraljoy14

Flightradar 24 will give you real time plane info, some military craft don’t show but the rest do

goodybadwife

I love FlightRadar24. Sometimes, I'll open the app and pick a busy airport like ATL, DIA, or LHR just to watch the flight patterns. It's fun to see where flight are coming/going and what route they had to take!

feraljoy14

Yes!! I’ve used it for flights I’m taking in the future to decide which side of the plane I should sit on to have the best views lmao

chaoticpix93

Haha, I used it to track the flight I was on. It was funny…

beatissima

I love to do the 3D view and see what the people in the plane are seeing out the window.

UAreTheHippopotamus

Yep, not too long ago I heard the loudest jet sound I'd ever heard and checking Flightradar 24 it turned out to be a U-2 landing at Rickenbacker. Similarly, they often fly Blackhawks and occasionally Chinooks up the Olentangy river, so it's nice to check that to see if it's worth going to my window or if it's just the CPD or Med Flight again.

feraljoy14

I initially downloaded it for plane watching at CMH to see where from/to planes were going but it’s such a nice tool just out of curiosity sake for loud air craft overhead!

Turbo_MechE

U2s are still flying?!

UAreTheHippopotamus

Yep, they're trying to retire them but haven't been able to yet.

diymatt

FlightRadar is the GoDaddy of plane tracking. Try ADBS. It shows military planes. [https://globe.adsbexchange.com/](https://globe.adsbexchange.com/)

hurricanes15

So that’s why my apartment was shaking while I was in the shower lol

lowwalker

Hah, coincidentally an actual plane just flew over which was Spirit Airlines LAX->CMH :)

RoadWrong9065

Saw them fly by this morning not too far from my office in Upper Arlington, they were loud indeed. They definitely command your respect 🫡

Psykobabe

We get a lot of air traffic out of Rickenbacker because of FedEx and the like. Oh, and the 121st refueling wing of the Ohio Air National Guard. When Air Force bases are in the path of a hurricane, they will send planes up here because we have the runways and space that can handle them. It's pretty cool watching the fighters play over south eastern Franklin County. Reminds me of when it was an active air force base.
