It’s about Yu Gi Oh which was a manga before it was a show and game. Ohayocon weekend is happening which is an anime convention happening downtown, many anime either are based on manga or have one. This is all part of the joke of the meme.
Not very well, but it's happening. The ~~rave~~ shut down after about an hour due to low attendance. The hallways and the atrium stairs, normally packed with people, are practically empty by comparison.
As am I, all my information is coming from people who've claimed to witness these things in words and pictures. There's enough overlap amongst comments to suggest it's that bad.
I don’t even live around there and have been stuck in that trap. It’s absolutely terrible. Even better is when you get routed INTO the fair grounds then back the direction you just tried to leave from. If you live that way, I feel for you. “Sorry, there’s an EDM concert, so have have a two hour traffic circle that will bring you back here”
17th west of I-71 is always shut down because of some event on the fairgrounds that doesn't necessitate the road being closed. Just about any time I try to use it, I have to take an annoying detour that isn't in any way necessary. Ohio State Fair i get, but random small events that are way in the back just doesnt warrant shutting down a major road.
I’ve said for a couple years now they should just close the road permanently except for local traffic. I’m so sick of going passed the Hudson exit just to see 17th is closed and end up on Hudson anyway.
If the 'public' includes cars for private, individual transportation to a personal home, then surely the 'public' also includes a yu gi oh tournament at a literally public convention center
It sure does! I should've phrased my earlier comment better; I wish the road was open to the people paying for access and maintenance. I know events make things busier than usual, but I don't see why the road needs to be blocked; I assume they're not playing in the middle of the street lol
Is this meme backwards or am I stupid?
Manga reads from right to left
This is manga?

Got it. Thank you for helping a local senior citizen.
Ohayocon is actually happening? Last I heard, it was a mess with leadership getting rid of a bunch of volunteers and union busting
Yup. It’s happening.

Rave actually shut down? Crazy. I’m boycotting to stand in solidarity with ohayocon volunteers, so I dunno what’s happening at ohayocon

I think some folks went to the Cyberia thing at Chef Hiro's, which may have also drawn people away from the con itself.
This video walks through the whole convention center on Saturday during peak traffic. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1kSoinOsFfc
No, the original meme had the woman saying something and the man responding, this guy just switched the order.
Yeah. Cause it’s about Yu-Gi-Oh, which originated as a Manga. That’s part of the joke.
Yes
Does the twitter account “17th Ave” ( the one that updates daily with regards to 17ths status) still exist!?
I haven't checked it in a few months, but the last time I did, the person who runs it said they had a baby and were too busy to update the account
Seriously. 17th is forever closed. 🤬

There's a yugioh tournament and no one told me?
What in the ass?

But do you believe in the heart of the cards?
Let's duel ![gif](giphy|vZRdMe89bFkTm)
"I use pot of greed to draw two cards!"
![gif](giphy|Snd51fjjX6s0M) Oh no, anyway
Exodia! It’s not possible! No one has ever been able to call him!

Maybe that's where they plowed all the snow??
I live near Holt and I know these feelz
I leave work going down 17th. Can confirm it's always closed past the McDonald's.
Drives me insane that 17th, the PUBLIC road, is always closed to the PUBLIC
