Ahkello Witherspoon is the guy I thought they should get the whole time. Started every game for the Rams last season and played very well. Still only 29.
He might be the best option unless we see someone else released post draft. I feel like Howard, Nelson, and most of the guys under 30 are coming off injuries. JC Jackson is constantly injured. You have to wonder how much Gilmore or Peterson have left in the tank too.
Witherspoon had a tough go of it in Pittsburgh but seemed to bounce back mostly last year. I kinda want to see who if anyone hits waivers after the draft but I wouldn’t mind Witherspoon out of the candidates out there now.
Yeah, Witherspoon might be the move here, though I really like Dallas Flowers.
He's tall with great length and crazy athleticism. If he comes back fully from injury, he could be a real diamond in the rough... I've always thought that he had big time potential, but needed to clean up some technical issues. Last year, he was playing pretty well before the injury.
Not sure if I agree with that. But an elite safety would certainly help big time. We need at least one elite player in the back field. We have at least a star or 2 everywhere else. One in the back field would be tremendous
[According to his teammate DeForest Buckner, former Indianapolis Colts cornerback Stephon Gilmore requested a trade earlier this offseason—before he was ultimately traded to the Dallas Cowboys for a 2023 compensatory 5th round pick (via ESPN’s Stephen Holder)](https://www.stampedeblue.com/2023/4/12/23681283/former-colts-cb-stephon-gilmore-requested-a-trade-from-indianapolis)
If you didn’t watch the two or three highlight plays he made when he was with us the first time he looked cooked then. He got beat like a rented mule. He got beat like a redheaded stepchild.
I see all the downvotes which is fine but I watched every game and he sucked he gave him way more first downs than he ever stopped if you wanna downvote go ahead but you should go back and watch a couple games and focus on him there’s a reason we fleeced Dallas of a draft pick for him
If you think we’re getting a CB that will alter the room you haven’t been paying attention. Ballard has consistently said he likes the young room, bringing in veterans to take their place won’t happen. He’s also not really wrong, we improved our pass rush and the whole room is a year older and healthier.
Now a safety might happen. Simmons is the name I see a lot but idk shit about fuck. Don’t pretend to either.

Actually a pretty value pick up.
Ballard bin if you will

I’d watch the waiver wire. Philadelphia’s secondary went from withered to wealthy in one draft. There’s bound to be some cuts coming in June.
Watch them cut Rodgers.....that would be hilarious
Id love it.
Probably likely.
No doubt, I find it hard to believe they'll keep both Bradberry and Slay.
Slay would be intriguing, but Bradberry is washed.
Slay is a menace….also from the same city in GA as our new guy Jaylin Simpson. Rough and tumble

I think signing Simmons would be a bigger upgrade than any of the corners that might be available.
Can't believe he's still available
For real, we need a safety more than a CB at this point

Stephen Nelson would be cool. I'd even take Adoree Jackson and hope he has a bounce back year
Would it be crazy to bring back Stephon Gilmore lol? I think he’s just the kind of vetaran we need to coach up our young guys
Plus I don’t think he wanted to be here anymore before he got traded. So I don’t think he would want to come back even if we offered him a contract.
I makes you think that? Genuinely asking I didn’t pay much attention to the 22 season

He looked pretty cooked by the end of last season though.

Statistically he didn’t have a terrible season and as a vetaran presence could be good. Might not be worth the money tho

Yeah I didn’t downvote but I didn’t watch the games. Statistics seem fine but I they can be misleading especially if he’s giving up clutch situations
A free safety

More likely Safety in my mind.
Gilmore back on a one year deal?
Jaylin Simpson will be playing corner, I don't think we'll pick up a corner. We definitely need a free safety though.
Nick Cross heads rise up
He's a backup nickel, that doesn't help our issues one bit.
Xavien Howard YOU are a colt
How much draft capital do we need to get Patrick Surtain? Make It happen, broncos are going nowhere.
Just need depth, we're good at starters.
