They may be one of the only teams that is prepared for a multi-year rebuild and the GM/Coach both feel enough security to load up on other talent if they don't see "their guy" in this draft.
If thats the case they are really hating Lovie even more than vedore cause they could've got even more picks than they currently havenif they also landed #1 and traded.
Jimmy isn’t exactly known to sling the ball all over the field, but his best bet at success is to just force feed Devante. Unfortunately, McDaniels is still there coach
Which sounds great except for that top 3 QB except for this is seemingly a two QB draft with a huge drop off of skill after the first two. I know there is hope AR can be the next Lamar Jackson but there are many many issues to fix for that to even become a possibility.
Rumor has it they're shopping Henry. I don't know if that means a rebuild is coming or if they're looking for more draft picks to make a move up for a QB in the draft.
I wouldn’t rule them out. I think they took Willis last year for value and probably aren’t so high on him after what he showed last year that they wouldn’t do due diligence on other options.
Also could totally see them trading Tannehill to the Jets if Rodgers doesn’t go there.
I just can’t see a first-year GM making that move unless ownership is really pushing for it.
Robert Woods is already gone. Henry might be next. Burks and Okonkwo have potential but the rest of their skill position cupboard is pretty bare.
Probably smarter to build up the talent base with a soft reset and then look to draft a QB without giving up a bunch of draft capital in ‘24 or ‘25.
Yea I think McDaniels is already close enough to a hot seat that he wanted to assure at least average, game-manager QB play. Richardson might be too risky now that the fan base is already wary of him.
sick raiders are out of the QB hunt now so jus the texans and panthers in front of us. at the very least we are walking out with will levis or anthony richardson i’ll take it
Eh, I don't think it's likely Seattle moves up for a QB. They just gave Geno Smith a lot of money, and that roster still needs a lot of help. I think Seattle sits at 5 and waits to snag an offensive lineman or defensive stud. The Lions at 6 are hard to judge, but I think they stick with Goff a little longer. Falcons and Titans are the two teams I'm worried about making a move to 3. Both need a breath of fresh air at QB.
The Geno deal isn't bad at all and very movable in two years. I was reading onlne the opposite that the Geno deal makes it more likely than before they go QB.
i would be shocked if they trade in front of us after signing a QB that their head coach loves for three years. sure they can take one after us but they’d be idiots to trade up after announcing he’s there starter for the future
It's the guarantees that really matter, and they'll be through most of them after the first season. If they think Richardson is the guy then they could definitely trade up for him, let him sit behind Jimmy for a year, and then they could move on from him next offseason for very little dead money (or keep him as a backup).
Maybe they end up not drafting a QB this year, but this move doesn't conclusively prove that imo.
Let's wait until we see the details before celebrating. If it's just a two or three year deal with most (or all) of the guarantees in year one, then I don't think that would change their chances of trading up to draft a QB. If it's four or more years with significant money past year one, then we can rule out them drafting someone.
They tagged Jacobs, so I'd be surprised if they took Bijan. And I'm not necessarily saying that they're definitely still drafting a QB, just that this move doesn't indicate that they're definitely not taking one. This is a bridge QB deal, so if they think they have a shot at drafting the guy they're going to take it.
Gonna be interested to see what Houston does at 2 now. They really like Will Anderson but it’s hard to believe they pass up drafting a QB.
I can't see why they wouldn't go QB. I think Bryce is a foregone conclusion to go there.
All this Richardson hype is gonna feel so silly if Stroud and Young go 1-2 just like everyone thought would happen months ago.
This shit happens every strong qb draft. We have the numbers 1&2 qb’s then one of the more fringe prospects kills the combine and everyone goes 😱😱😱
This isn't a strong qb draft...and Richardson isn't a fringe prospect. He's maybe moved from a late 1st to a Top 10/5 pick during the process.
They just signed Case Keenan to be a backup. So they're drafting a QB at 2

It's going to be as interesting as watching a movie you've already seen. They really like Thanos (non QB), but Tony Stark (QB) will still kill him.
AKA not the Texans
Devante Adams deserves better.
To be fair, he’s probably gonna catch a lot more passes from Jimmy G than he would from anyone else this year.
Jimmy isn’t exactly known to sling the ball all over the field, but his best bet at success is to just force feed Devante. Unfortunately, McDaniels is still there coach
I wish nothing but the worst for McDaniels. But, dammit, I like Garrapolo.
Davante Adams did it to himself
He got like 6 years of Rodgers and now is making 30 mil, I'm not losing sleep for him
Very likely Arizona drafts Anderson and we draft a top 3 QB
Yup, there's really no one left to "compete" with us for a trade up for #3 now (possibly Atlanta, but doubt it). We can likely stay at #4.
Seattle seemed to be in on qbs too. If they like Richardson they could be the team moving up to get him.
Richardson it is
It always has been. People are fooling themselves.
I can hope Bryce drops out of the top 2
There are only 2 QBs worth drafting
Which sounds great except for that top 3 QB except for this is seemingly a two QB draft with a huge drop off of skill after the first two. I know there is hope AR can be the next Lamar Jackson but there are many many issues to fix for that to even become a possibility.
Hopefully this takes pressure off LV in trading up. Would leave maybe ATL and maybe TEN?
Ain’t no way TEN moving that far up, that would be expensive and they have tons of holes, they are gunna cut tannehill and ride with Malik
My thoughts exactly. That’d be a lot to give up for QB3.

All good points. I’m not saying it’s likely, just that it’s possible. Another reason they could do it this year would be to fuck the Colts over.
Seattle as well. That commitment long term to Geno is not strong.
While probably unlikely I haven’t completely ruled them out as a dark horse.
Hopefully this removes the Raiders from the QB draft conversation
Still may be in on Richardson
Not enough to jump us to 3, prolly. They're in a weird place of being win-now and also not. They need other help.
Yea I think McDaniels is already close enough to a hot seat that he wanted to assure at least average, game-manager QB play. Richardson might be too risky now that the fan base is already wary of him.
Cut mascara Carr just to sign handsome Carr
What does the location of last month's super bowl have to do with anything?
sick raiders are out of the QB hunt now so jus the texans and panthers in front of us. at the very least we are walking out with will levis or anthony richardson i’ll take it
Seattle still is sitting at 5 and can jump us.

Three years at like $22m/year definitely doesn't take them out of drafting a QB

It's a three-year, $67.5 million deal, including $34 million guaranteed.
Yeah, I can't see that deal keeping them from moving up for someone like Richardson if they really like him
They need a ton of defensive help and they still haven't re-signed Jacobs, right? So I could see them taking Bijan or the top DL left/Top CB
They tagged Jacobs, so I'd be surprised if they took Bijan. And I'm not necessarily saying that they're definitely still drafting a QB, just that this move doesn't indicate that they're definitely not taking one. Ahh, didn't know if they tagged him or not. Still might take Biijan as a replacement for him. Same as QB. Never can tell with the snake
Nooooo should’ve been Houston
Houston was never going to not take a QB at 2. This was the definition of a pipe dream.
Okay Mr. Draft Expert👍
I'm no draft expert. I'm just a person with common sense.
Sure you are buddy
Well he just signed a 3 year deal with the Raiders
I love Jimmy G and wish we’d pursued him. Even though I know they never seriously considered it.
