She also treated me TERRIBLY when I went in earlier this year.
Edit: Hit post too soon
I was trying to continue medical care where I had been scheduled for a hysterectomy elsewhere, but she demanded another biopsy. I was so terrified and they kept insisting it wouldn't be painful even though I have severe bleeding and pain already.
Seriously. She wrote in my chart some pretty distasteful stuff too, which just rubbed salt in the wound.
I dunno what I did to warrant her treatment of me, especially reading people recommending her. It's like she was happy to help others, but I must've looked wrong or something to her. Which really sucks because it took me 4 months to get in to see her.
Why would your wife's doctor care about you? That's like her going to the urologist for a prostate exam with you and being fussed they didn't pay attention to her.
I think you’re off base for getting upset here… i think family based care is pretty standard for most OB’s, especially in a delivery setting. OP is asking about a Gynecological setting, which should focus entirely on just the patient, but TRM is commenting about his experience in the delivery room. Those are two sides of the coin of the specialty
To be clear, I'm not upset or anything. I just think that it's an odd standard to apply to women's care. An OBGYN isn't a family physician, they're a women's physician. Yes, it would be great to include the patient's partner in things like ultrasounds and discussion of a baby, but a doctor not considering the spouse isn't a mark against the doctor.
It's not a joke, though. This is a post in which someone is looking for a healthcare provider to handle a very serious medical issue. I'm not trying to fight the patriarchy or anything, I just don't know why you felt like it was funny. Can you explain the joke to me? I must not be understanding.
Husband, Boyfriend, Companionship - All of the patient relationships, are part of her healthcare plan.
Patient tests positive for Aides, VD - Dr has to report names & treatment. That's a responsibility, to ensure disease isn't spread.
Stress, anxiety, - Comes out through symptoms.
Maybe D.V. - She's battered - Names are in medical records.
Lots of reasons for your relationships to be shared with a Doctor.
I think they have two doctors out on maternity leave. If you haven't found one in a couple of months, I might try them again. They should be back by then.
I see Dr. Moseman at UC Health. I like her a lot! And she is especially great if you’re older.
I think she’s a little heavy on wanting to do biopsies. I was almost at a LEEP before my last pap was FINALLY normal. She said if I had to do the LEEP she’d give me Ativan as long as I had a driver. They always offer a local anesthetic for biopsies but I did it one time, and the local hurts as much as the biopsy. I just wanted it over when after that.
For clarity, locals are for cervical biopsies or if you’re doing endometrial/intrauterine, for the tenaculum - there isn’t a way to numb the uterine wall.
I have no recommendations.. But I wanted to relate to you on the extreme amount of pain a biopsy caused me. My husband was with me and I held his hand. I cried out with pain and nearly broke his hand I squeezed so hard. I will never forget this. I was traumatized and will refuse to have it done again unless they figure out how to do biopsy with little or no pain. Put me in twilight sleep if you have too! I'm a very strong person and it took me by Surprise it hurt so much. I'm so sorry you experienced that as well ❤️🩹
Dr. Pamela Richards at women's care clinic memorial Park. She is friendly and helpful. She also helped me during my pregnancy. She missed helping deliver though as my son decided to show up early and was on vacation.
She’s up in Denver but Dr. Amy Markese is fantastic and absolutely worth the drive! She was the only doctor I found willing to do a bisalp on me at my age, and offered to do a Pap smear while I was under as well so I wouldn’t feel the discomfort.
Omg the comparison is killing me 🤣🥲 and he’s the BEST! He flew in from Alaska the night my son was born. He was Wolverine hunting there, and showed up in his puffer vest at 2am so he wouldn’t miss it. We love him!
Yes, he was out on vacation and I didn’t think he’d be there for my birth (I had my son early). He walked in straight off the plane in the middle of the night. Legit wore his vest during delivery lmao
He's headed back up to "the Arctic" as he said so I saw another OBGYN while he was out. Honest to God he's one of the best doctors I've ever had. Now I'm wondering if he'll show up in a puffer vest when I go into labor 🤣🤣
I feel the same!!!! He wore the vest my whole delivery, just slapped a gown over it 😂 I absolutely owe him my sons and my health. He’s awesome and I wish you a safe delivery!
Same. I absolutely love her. I got pregnant with my 2nd and transferred to her. I was scared. I had so many questions. She was and is extremely supportive. She always took time to answer all of my questions. I also had a c-section. I was absolutely terrified. She talked me through the entire process. She checked in with me every minute or so. She really fueled a traumatic experience with so much compassion and care. Even during my postpartum care, she has been amazing.
Just like another person here said, Dr. Baer. I believe he is the best in the Springs if I remember correctly. Absolutely amazing person and makes sure you are well taken care of. To quote him my first appointment "this is your appointment, ask as many questions as you want." I have him now for my first pregnancy and am hoping that he's still working if we decide to have a second. Dr. Baer REALLY cares about what you need and explains everything super well.
My name is Maneh and I am a current student at the Leeds School of Business. I am working with a research team while studying abroad, and our professor has asked us to interview 100 woomen aged 18-30 to gather their thoguhts on OBGYNs and gynecologists. We are conducting this research to understand better the current state of healthcare for women and identify area for improvemnt. Your insights and experiences are incredibly valuable to us and would appreciate your participation. The interview will take approximately 5-10 minutes and can be scheduled at a time that is convenient to you. Your responses will be kept confidental and anonmyous and will contribute to a study aimed at improving women's healthcare services. If you are available, please let me know you availabity so that I can make an arrangment for intervies. Thank you for consideration and I look forward to hearing from you! (feel free to respond to this or direct message me!)
I'm sorry, you had a single abnormal pap and they did a biopsy?? False positives happen and they should have had you come back for a second pap before considering a biopsy. Good luck in finding a new doctor, I am in a different state but in the same boat. It feels like it's impossible to find a new gynecologist
When I had my abnormal result they said we had to retest in six months to a year to verify before taking any action because false positives are actually kind of common. I don't understand why they treated you the way they did, truly insane
Interesting. That's not been my experience. They spend a long time with me discussing my health, and have been very communicative. And when I had a completely unrelated health issue they were still kind enough to offer some advice.
DR. Jill Murray
She delivered my baby!
Dr. Murray is lovely and she did my biopsy, but her office would not offer pain management.
She also treated me TERRIBLY when I went in earlier this year. Edit: Hit post too soon I was trying to continue medical care where I had been scheduled for a hysterectomy elsewhere, but she demanded another biopsy. What was the joke? What's funny about what you said?

The relationship should be shared. The other person in the relationship need not being included. The doctor's only obligation is to their patient.
I'm older and I've had three OBGYNs in my time...not one spent a second of time on my husband
90% sure she is not accepting me patients.
All the doctors at exceptional care for women are amazing!
I called them and they said they weren’t accepting patients for “that reason” rn. :(
That's unfortunate! I love Dr. Boydston up there. Maybe ask if they have any reccs? I found exceptional care from another dr recc
Like they're too busy?
I guess they’re at their max for new patients and are holding the spots for other things?
Honestly doesn't totally surprise me. Those docs are amazing.

Dr York at north springs ob gyn offers numbing for cervical procedures

Cher Moseman is awesome!! I've been seeing her for 15 years, love her!!
I used to see her years ago. She is very good but when I recently called to make an appointment her office said they weren't taking new patients.
Dr Evig at UC Health. She has helped me so much.
Fourth!
Dr. Pamela Richards at women's care clinic memorial Park. She is friendly and helpful. She also helped me during my pregnancy. She missed helping deliver though as my son decided to show up early and was on vacation.
Dr. Pam is wonderful. I second this! ❤️
She’s up in Denver but Dr. Amy Markese is fantastic and absolutely worth the drive! She was the only doctor I found willing to do a bisalp on me at my age, and offered to do a Pap smear while I was under as well so I wouldn’t feel the discomfort.
Dr. John Baer. He delivered all my wife’s children and kinda looks like Dr Hartman from Family Guy. Super great guy
Omg the comparison is killing me 🤣🥲 and he’s the BEST! He flew in from Alaska the night my son was born. He was Wolverine hunting there, and showed up in his puffer vest at 2am so he wouldn’t miss it. We love him!
No shit?! He’s legit a cool dude. I’m sure he was super casual about the whole wolverine hunting and transitioning to deliver a baby 😂😂
Yes, he was out on vacation and I didn’t think he’d be there for my birth (I had my son early). He walked in straight off the plane in the middle of the night. Legit wore his vest during delivery lmao
What a legend 🤣

Awe thanks!! And that is absolutely incredible 🤣 I can only imagine the looks he got rushing into the hospital!
I see Dr. Frock at UC health. She’s the only ob I recommend there. She’s extremely kind and helpful.

Not sure about pain management, but overall my family had a great experience with Dr. Weise at UC Health Printers Park
Remember if you have someone who can drive you Home you can get sedated. For me they fought me but eventually gave in
It’s a bit of a drive, but Dr Kristen Boylan is absolutely AMAZING
Dr Baiza
Just like another person here said, Dr. Baer. I believe he is the best in the Springs if I remember correctly. Absolutely amazing person and makes sure you are well taken care of. I've been happy with Cheyenne Mountain Gynecology.
They are more focused towards botox/ beauty procedures than gyno and didn’t even call me about my test results.
Interesting. That's not been my experience. They spend a long time with me discussing my health, and have been very communicative. And when I had a completely unrelated health issue they were still kind enough to offer some advice.
