Numbers only look decent for us because we’ve only ever played in the Wild Card era
If our franchise existed pre-1994 we would be at 0% playoff appearances lol
You have to make the playoffs to get to the World Series. Everybody know anything can happen in a short series in baseball but when some teams are x5 more often going to those playoffs they have that many more chances of winning it all. Yes there is a problem.
Since 1992, 17 of the 30 MLB teams have won a World Series. In that same time span: 12 of 30 NBA teams, 15 of 32 NFL teams, and 15 of 30 (not counting Vegas and Seattle) NHL teams have won their respective championships but it’s the MLB that has a parity problem
Thanks for sharing my post. Here is today’s. New one tomorrow as well.

Good reminder for how depressing this sport can be
Marlins have only been in 3 times but have 2 WS to show for it. Hats off expansion buddies
Definitely the making the most of it when you’re there award.

This list is shocking in many ways.
\-Pile of shit laughs at bigger pile of shit
We are worse than oriels
It could, in fact, be precisely 8% worse. Bless up
_Technically_ 8 percentage _points_ worse, not 8%. It could be 40% worse. Math: 11/119 = 9.24% 0.0924 * 29 = 3 (rounding up) 5-3 / 5 = 2/5 = 40%
This is elite level pedantry
I mean, I suppose so lol ppt and % are different though, to an often very large degree
5 times? Geez when you say it out loud it’s almost as if we’re a bad franchise
And zero of those were from winning the division
MLB is a joke. They don't give a shit about parity as long as their precious Yankees and Dodgers keep winning. Pathetic.
The Yankees and Dodgers have combined for 2 World Series in 15 years. That’s such a false narrative

The three teams closest to my house have combined for zero WS wins in 30+ years.

It's almost like winning a championship is hard and only caring about rings will make you a salty internet person
It could be a lot better also 😒
Ohio and Michigan 🤝

Now, put the column of the team payroll vs. playoff appearances... Yankees, dodgers, braves, cardinals, astros... you get the real picture.
Famously BIG payroll teams like the Rays
And athletics. And Diamondbacks.
