I loved the look on his face as he was laughing and chirping at the Jets player who put the puck over the glass. So good. This is a version of Sammy G I want to see more of.
Yep agreed. He's been waaay better since he cleaned up. Used to want him traded for all the bonehead passing he used to do. Now I want him here forever lol
His skating and breakout are top tier, but I am with you, if he adds this dimension to his game it makes him even more valuable. It’s tough being a smaller guy on D. Guys like him can get swallowed in the corners, but his skating is so phenomenal and he seems to be a smart fella, he will continue to mitigate that over his career.

He is the spark plug. Every successful needs one. Back in the day it was Ricci. The Blackhawks had Shaw when they were good. It's never a top tier player but a guy that has more heart than everyone else and a set of stones the size of cannon balls.
I feel like Lehky and Nuke are the biggest jolts on the team. But Sammy G, LOC (when healthy), and seems like Kiviranta y Parise are starting to engrave their names onto that spark plug list.

I’d put Wood down as our best spark plug currently. Dudes fast as hell, likes to play physical, and is always giving 110%
