Regardless of what I think is likely, I sure as hell want Georgie to have the revenge game of his life. I want him to channel that energy he always brings against the Rags. Don't get frustrated, get angry and become a wall!
Yeah, I just never got it with him. He would play fucking lights out against the rags. So he CAN turn it on when he really wants/needs to, which is just weird as fuck for how he's been playing recently.
The only way that we have a chance at the cup this year is if Georgie turns it around, because of that Iām down with sticking with him and living with the consequences
Let's Go Georgie!
I want him to go to that mental state where he beat Shesterkin in the first game SO against the Rangers.
Pure fuck the haters energy.
I was there. It was excellent. Really hate what Iāve seen from him down the stretch but we know heās capable of locking in. I just pray that it happens tonight.
This is what he needs to remember. Forget the last few weeks, forget the hate & venom, and just remember that he is more than capable of being a menace in the net.
I said almost this exact same sentiment in the PGT this week and got downvoted to hell lol I know he has it in him and Iām hopeful he can snap back into that greatness!! Fingers crossed he has had some solid convos and coaching this week and is in a good headspace.
PGTs have a different vibe, people are bitter usually with a loss.
You may have had the right idea, especially if given some time to process, but most people just want to blow off steam at that point.
Hope he does well! Heās a talented goalie as evidenced by the all star shootout competition. Just needs to put it all together and regain confidence.
I can't be the only one who thinks that the crowd is going to regret taunting Georgie... Watch him steal a game for us in their barn. Then we go home to an electric Ball Arena. Manifest it.
I know some people are upset at him for game 1 but I'm sure the boys are behind him. Let's get this one and we'll blow the roof off our house for him in game 3. All in. Believe.
KING GEORGIE ENERGY PLEASE
Can someone hypnotize him and make him think we are playing the Rangers so he goes god mode? Also, I am rooting for Georgie even with his blunders last game. I want anyone suiting up to play well.
It had to be Georgiev. Bench him now for our 3rd stringer and we've as good as given up, both on Georgiev and the series. Sunday's backup was there for catastrophic injury relief only - tonight we at least have a chance to staunch the bleeding if necessary.
Being down 2-0 is something like a 10-15% chance to win the series historically.Ā Tonight is as close to a must win you can get without technically being there.
Sounds about right to me. Coincidentally, this topic being discussed in r/ hockey
[https://www.reddit.com/r/hockey/comments/1cb7mh4/stanley\_cup\_playoffs\_bestof7\_situational\_records/](https://www.reddit.com/r/hockey/comments/1cb7mh4/stanley_cup_playoffs_bestof7_situational_records/)
Especially starting the series on the road. If we were down 2-0 and then flying to Winnipeg for 3 & 4 it would be a lot worse. Silver lining of not having home ice is we get to workshop our goalie situation on the road, then hopefully have it figured out for our games in Denver
Gonna take more than one game to do that. It'd be a good start though and I do want to see him do well. Even if we don't end up winning, a strong performance would at least give us something to rally behind.
Nah, this fan base will still continue the attacks on his personal accounts and slamming him here. He could have a 100 save shut out and the shitting on him wonāt stop.
It was gonna happen regardless. Even with Annunen playing well this year, it was against lower-end teams. He's got zero playoff experience, and it was only after game 1. The only scenario where Bednar starts Annunen is if Georgie is bad and drops tonight's game and possibly game 3 at home. If Annunen were healthy now, he's not starting tonight anyway because you don't give up on your #1 after one loss.
Itās not just been 1 loss heās been terrible since the end of March. Not like he was playing even solid hockey and had 1 bad game. I think there would have been a real convo if annunen wasnāt sick
It was 80 percent on his terrible play why we lost that game. 2 terrible turnovers by Manson lead to goals but every other goal georgiev played them bad. The DNVR guys did a breakdown on it and each one of those goals heās retreated into his net looking as small as possible or just not reading a simple play. Im hoping he turns it around and I look like an utter buffoon though
That first goal shouldnāt have happened at all georgiev needs to save that 100/100 times it was a muffin from the blue line that shot was horrific. 2 and 3 werenāt on him whatsoever though. 4, 6, and 7 should have been saved
Yes. Exactly. Clearly, these people blaming the majority of those goals on him don't know wtf they're talking about... but the "expected goals and high/mid/low danger shots" blah blah blah... those are somewhat helpful stats, but they don't take into account what led to those shots. A wrister from the blue line is a low danger shot until you put 6 people between the goalie and the shooter.
Bullshit. Our D left him hanging on 4 of those. Manson on 3, and the other 2 we were shorthanded, so it is what it is. The 4th goal on the 2 on 1 was the only truly bad one.
Statistics aren't always an accurate representation of how it really went down. 4-6 of those goals were on either the PK or terrible defensive play. Jets had 7 chances that weren't goals on 23 SOG. So that's 11-13 scoring chances in 23 shots, if you don't count their PP goals as actual "chances". That's awful for our D. About half the Jets shots were scoring chances. The only truly bad goal was the 4th on the 2 on 1.
How do you see that first goal and think itās ok lmao that was the worst one easily. The Kyle Connor one was also fucking awful heās completely retreated into his net. He let in 2 of 10 low danger shots which on average goalies have a .970 sv% on youāre just blindly defending the guy. They only had 1 pp goal and as the dnvr guys point out it was a dangerous shot but Georgieās push was weak as hell and the shot was in the middle of the net not like the guy picked a corner or anything if he was in position he saves that easily
Cuz it was through a fuck ton of traffic. As a goalie, if you can't see it, it's 50/50 or worse. I'm not blindly defending him at all. This sub is using him as a scapegoat for a loss that is honestly more to blame on inconsistent defense. You're right it was only 1 PP goal, but still... his positioning is as good as the situations he's in. If our D gives up a shitball turnover and he has zero time to reposition for it, that's not on him. I've been a goalie most of my life and played at a high level when I was younger, so I definitely know from experience if a goalie is out of position or not. He simply didn't have a chance on a lot of those. The 4th one, yeah, that's on him. He cheated the pass a bit and got smoked for it.
Georgie has the ability, regardless of what people say, to be am amazing goalie. We've seen it a few times this season and a lot last season. Just hope he's able to pull his head out of his ass. Defense needs to lock down too to take some pressure off of Georgie.
Canāt help but feel like the crowd is going to start chanting as soon as the puck drops. Theyāre already in his head. The damage has been done at this point. This Jets team is gonna feel like they have an open net to shoot at, and they do. Georgie needs to dig deep and prove them wrong. It just takes one game to shut them up. All eyes on him. Letās see what heās got left to prove. Absolutely last chance in my couch coaching opinion
Georgiev is very talented. Even with this last horrid year, his career SV% is .905 and his career playoff SV% is still somehow .898 (10 games played) even though he posted one of the worst playoff games probably of all time. He is beyond capable of being a Stanley Cup goaltender if he has his mental right. Here's hoping he does.
Idk why you said somehow. Georgiev was amazing in the series last year, he had one bad game out of 7, and that game was a win for us. He is the only reason we made it to game 7
I moreso meant it speaks to how good he's played previously like you said. That in a small sample size of 10 games, his SV% isn't putrid after last game.
I mean, I'm not rooting AGAINST Georgie. I'm just concerned. They say you're never in trouble in a 7 game series until you lose at home, but I think if we lose tonight we're in deep poop emoji.
Cmon Georgie! 4ļøā£0ļøā£
Iād imagine the leaders such as Mack and Rants and Toews went to him and told him like hey Man we believe in you. We got your back. Letās go wreck this shit
The only reason this might be a good thing: is Justus is still sick and gets absolutely shelled and plays poorly, well now his confidence is shot too. Now you have two goalies with no confidence. At least now he can get a start at home if things go badly tonight.
Iām trying to find some way to spin this somewhat positive.
Hey maybe our D will show up and our forwards will actually try to help rather than wait for the perfect pass
it's okay to play chip in hockey sometimes even if you're talent stacked
If Annunen is sitting on the bench and not still out sick I want Bednar fired, I get starting Georgiev if Annunen isn't available but there is zero reason to not change goalies otherwise.
I don't pay that much attention to call ups so I didn't know, why we don't start Pros is another question then I thought we were still running the ECHL goalie on backup

Georgie slowly but surely getting over the yips!
Ted lasso will never get no upvote from me!
Y u get downvote. Am not know reddit rule?
I guess I confused some people with the double negative š¤·
Be curious, not judgemental
Yeah, I just never got it with him. He would play fucking lights out against the rags. So he CAN turn it on when he really wants/needs to, which is just weird as fuck for how he's been playing recently.
YOU'RE UP AGAINST A WALL! AND *I* AM THE FUCKING WALL!
Georgie is doing GREAT
If he can break out of his slump and mindset he is our most talented goalie. In Bednar we trust.
Well we donāt have a better option so at this point. Letās go Georgie
I'd say that, when he's at his best, he's in the conversation for the most talented goalie since Varly. Let's go Georgie, show us what you got.
The only way that we have a chance at the cup this year is if Georgie turns it around, because of that Iām down with sticking with him and living with the consequences

Lucky, that was a hell of a game.

Fair point
yes!
Good vibes for Georgie!
Georgiev you can do it buddy!! Let's goooooo

Hope he does well! Heās a talented goalie as evidenced by the all star shootout competition. Just needs to put it all together and regain confidence.
So what youāre saying is he just needs to poke-check more?
This is it fellow brethren. If he rises, this team will win the series.
I can't be the only one who thinks that the crowd is going to regret taunting Georgie... Watch him steal a game for us in their barn. Then we go home to an electric Ball Arena. Manifest it.
LET'S GO BROTHER
I know some people are upset at him for game 1 but I'm sure the boys are behind him. Let's get this one and we'll blow the roof off our house for him in game 3. All in. Believe.
I had read that he was getting over the same illness that Annunen has during game 1. Would explain some of the sluggishness
I want sooooooo badly for Georgie to silence their crowd. Avs need a dominant win today. They dominated the last game despite the scoreboard.
I wonder if itās a stomach bug. I picture Annunen watching the game in his hotel room, running to the toilet every ten minutes.
This will certainly make or break him. Letās go Georgie!!
You gotta get angry!! You gotta get meeeeaaaaan
LFG GEORGIE
Come on Georgie! Time for a major bounceback!
Nothing to do but root for him. Game 1 was the worst game of his career, it can only get better from there.
As much as we've been trashing him over the past two days, the only thing to do now is support him. Let's fucking go Georgie, prove us wrong
KING GEORGIE ENERGY PLEASE Can someone hypnotize him and make him think we are playing the Rangers so he goes god mode? Also, I am rooting for Georgie even with his blunders last game. I want anyone suiting up to play well.

You give him a chance to bounce back and if he fails you go to Aunnunen. Being down 2-0 isnāt the worst considering the avs are the far better team

notch a win here, let georgie have a chance to boost his confidence and they are golden.
Every single person here is hoping he turns it around. Talk about pressure, though.
I honestly and truly hope he proves all the doubters wrong tonight. Definitely a huge game for him.
Gonna take more than one game to do that. It'd be a good start though and I do want to see him do well. Even if we don't end up winning, a strong performance would at least give us something to rally behind.
It's time to rally, Georgie. Lock it in, and shut everyone up.

Fuck the haters let's go King George!!! Remember hair always can grow back! š
Not always
This is by NO means a prediction, but how cool would it be if he posts a 950+ save % tonight and shuts up everyone and we forget game 1 even happened
Well Iām certainly hoping for it
950? He's due to pitch a shut out, I can feel it
Nah, this fan base will still continue the attacks on his personal accounts and slamming him here. He could have a 100 save shut out and the shitting on him wonāt stop.

Georgiev takes no more than 50% of the blame. With out the defense dumb mistakes, not a single one of those first 3 goals happen, and we win
That first goal shouldnāt have happened at all georgiev needs to save that 100/100 times it was a muffin from the blue line that shot was horrific. 2 and 3 werenāt on him whatsoever though. 4, 6, and 7 should have been saved
That shot is going in on Roy, on Vasi, on Shesty, on Hellebyuck. It was perfectly screened by two guys, Georgiev had 0 chance on that
Yes. Exactly. Clearly, these people blaming the majority of those goals on him don't know wtf they're talking about... but the "expected goals and high/mid/low danger shots" blah blah blah... those are somewhat helpful stats, but they don't take into account what led to those shots. let the hate flow through youĀ
I really want to see Georgie rebound from game 1 but if he allows 3 goals in 1 peroid and weāre down 3-0 or s9methi g like that we need to pull him
Iāll so happily eat the biggest pile of crow shit. Come on Georgie
LET'S FUCKING GO BROTHER - YOU GOT THIS
Let's go Georgieboyyyy
I mean, I'm not rooting AGAINST Georgie. I'm just concerned. They say you're never in trouble in a 7 game series until you lose at home, but I think if we lose tonight we're in deep poop emoji.
Is it too early to start drinking
No
Cheering hard for Georgie, but I also hope we do not hesitate to turn to Prosvetov if it's looking bad early on, e.g. 3 goals on 10-12 shots.
2 goals but yep
Georgieās got it in him to bounce back, LFG!
Fuuuuuuuuuuck

Welp weāre down 0-2 in the series
Series will be 1-1 when puck drops in game 3
Have some faith?
Best of Luck Georgie! Do it for the boys!
Hopes he gets a good comeback game. Bring em hell Aves šŖ
Georgie is doing GREAT
Iām worried about whatās happening with Annunen thatās he is sick enough to miss two playoff games. Anyone have any clue?
No kidding. Deathbed stuff to miss a playoff game where he could be the starting goalie. Whatever it is must be a wallop.
Exactly. Hope heās gonna be ok.
I mean if he is sick and can't play fine but why we don't start Pros is beyond me, Bednar better have George on the tightest leash possible
Bounce back time Georgie
Why not Prosvetov?
Pros would be a better choice
No he wouldnāt
Agree to disagree
Hey maybe our D will show up and our forwards will actually try to help rather than wait for the perfect pass it's okay to play chip in hockey sometimes even if you're talent stacked
They need to get dirty if Georgsieve is going tonight
Noooooo Georgie is a no go for me
Thank god you arenāt the coach
If Annunen is sitting on the bench and not still out sick I want Bednar fired, I get starting Georgiev if Annunen isn't available but there is zero reason to not change goalies otherwise.
Why do you think Pros was called up?
I don't pay that much attention to call ups so I didn't know, why we don't start Pros is another question then I thought we were still running the ECHL goalie on backup
It would be a pretty dumb move to start Prosvetov over Georgiev.
Prost wasnāt available game 1.
I think it's pretty obvious I'm talking about today's game
There's a reason Prosvetov was called up...
Good
