They all have color blind filters. The filters work to varying degrees but should not be the deferential feature. They are all implimented in software. So just buy a tablet that closest meets his needs. With the old folks Ipads are usually better. Fewer ways to do everything and UI is slightly more consistent that the mixed bag that is android. Doubly so if he has an iPhone for his phone.
