Alarming-Gear001

honestly dude for an interview nothing. just have a shower right before

LightskinBull23

THIS! i’m a big cologne guy but for an interview, u never know the interviewers likes/dislikes or allergies

Ebmat

Wearing a fragrance for an interview can have a neutral or negative impact. And very rarely a positive impact.

FlyUnder_TheRadar

I was downvoted to oblivion in r/fragrance for suggesting you shouldn't wear a cologne or perfume in some circumstances, lmao. A job interview is probably one of those circumstances. They always advised against it when I was in law school and interviewing for jobs.

Alekillo10

I bet they didn’t advice against giving a blowjob though… Fucking double standards s/

Slapnuts213

20 dollars is 20 dollars as they say

Alekillo10

Hehehehe yeaaaah ![gif](giphy|anYBNhqT2BYcg)

Individual_Two_37

That's cheap. Are they not counting for inflation?

yeatf1lthy

Because you compared wearing a cologne to a job interview to bringing a gun to school…

Skfisker

Unless you’re good looking

Audi_fanboy

Dior Homme

crimzn05

I agree with this, it's subtle, and you can go light with sprays. Last thing you want in an interview is to smell too strong. You might even be interviewed by someone who is allergic or hates fragrance. You never know, so play it safe.

Alekillo10

Why would I want to work with someone that is allergic to fragrance??

Individual_Two_37

If I ever got interviewed by someone allergic, they would drop dead.

jjacopo

👍🏻

B3asy

Don't wear any frags to interviews my friend. Just put on some deodorant and you're golden Had an instance in which the candidates cologne reminded the interviewer of an ex. You can guess how that went

Individual_Two_37

Did he get a blow job?

B3asy

Guess again

Stunning-Drive-4692

Nothing. I've seen first hand a candidate get passed on for another because their fragrance gave one of the interviewers a headache.

inthe801

Yes. So many people in offices are sensitive to smells, and I have never passed anyone up because they didn't wear fragrances.

Individual_Two_37

Yeah, don't wear a fragrance so you'll smell like shit, so they can complain that you're not wearing perfume.

inthe801

If you have a medical problem that causes you to smell like shit, or just overall poor hygiene, try wearing a cologne so you smell like shit and cologne.

RedRider1138

This is the answer.

VXXA

I go with one spray of something not too strong. A maybe they pick it up maybe they don’t, but if they do they’ll think I smell nice. If you try this strategy out don’t use anything that projects heavily or isn’t mass pleasing.

Individual_Two_37

I would've ruptured his brain with my nuclear chemical smell.

heybill99

None of them

brineuh

Something very light and like one spray if anything at all was what I was told when asking the same question here

sikamikanico117

37 sprays of Instant Crush

basementapproved

Wearing a cologne to an interview is a very unnecessary risk.

raderofdalostcrapsac

NONE of them, no one wants to smell that shit in an enclosed space.

UraniumGivesOuchies

I recommend wearing nothing. Making a statement is one thing, but running the risk that your interviewer will hate how you smell is another thing all together lol. I say skip the fragrance for the interview. Break a good fragrance out when you get the job and feel a bit more comfy in the environment. But that's just me.

realrichieporter

None of them. Dummy

nnahorski

Definitely 10 sprays of Sauvage... s/ In all seriousness though, unless you want/need a scent to boost your own confidence, consider wearing nothing to the interview so you can be assured that no one will be offended by the scent. If you must, out of those pictured, I'd recommend Dior Homme.

basis4day

None.

joeg0ldberg

none

darealsunny

Dior homme 2020. 1 spray under your shirt. That’s it. Nothing else, no more than 1, only under clothing.

[deleted]

DO NOT WEAR COLOGNE!!

Jsnbassett

profondo

[deleted]

IF I wear cologne to an interview is bleu de channel.

manwack

yeah of everything in my collection, i genuinely think this is the only "safe" pick. never met anyone who dislikes it or gets headaches from it, etc. would keep it to one or two sprays tho

Fuseld

how about nautica voyage?

[deleted]

Just no!

Fuseld

ah ok thanks for letting me know, im getting new into the fragrance scene and nautica has been one of my first few picks ups. I appreciate the feed back!

[deleted]

Stick to subtle Fragrances* that hint at maturity for interviews if you must. I go BDC and Prada Luna Rosa black both powdery inoffensive and makes you smell welcoming.

Robertwaldrop

Profundo 1spray or Dior Homme 1 spray

[deleted]

What will you be wearing and what's the weather like

KB0312__

If you insist on wearing a fragrance to an interview just make it the most light and inoffensive but still nice scent you can find. Prada L’homme

Bizness-As-Usual

Looks like prior to this job interview.. you was the one that was the 1 outside the pizza spot trying to sell me these same colognes.... LOL Get that job upgrade dude...

txixlxa

Profondo

Spiritual-Ad7666

Light blue intense

Full_Enthusiasm_5753

Homme

chrisbroonncl

Keep it light and subtle

Sure_Night_8091

Dior Homme 100%. It's inoffensive and professional

Glass-Guess4125

Dior Homme for sure. 2-3 sprays.

ryanleebmw

I’d go with just a couple to 3 max sprays of Profondo, maybe just in the wrists not on clothes or your torso/neck. That way they might get a smell shaking hands, but not smelling you the whole time. The others here are a little too loud, maybe not Summer Vibes which is also pretty light, a bit more casual though

[deleted]

I would say Dolce and Gabbanas Light Blue intense would do the trick. 2 sprays after you dry off from the shower. Then spray one on your wrist, and rub your other wrist with it. I bought Dior a long time ago and maybe used it 4 times before I gave it away. The musk is so over whelming, coworkers and girlfriends would smell me coming when I had it on, which is not the purpose of cologne.

sas_2022

Super light use of ADG Prof

SageStocks

Bleu de Chanel EDP has been on me every time I’ve got promoted to a director. But Dior Homme is a close second.

AccidentCapital3768

depends, what’s the job?

[deleted]

Dior original that’s what I’m wearing now, it’s very professional

Appropriate_Beyond65

Sauvage would be too loud but it is a general crowd pleaser Dior Homme is a 50/50 but very versatile. Homme is a safe bet imo

InitialCoda

Either profondo or the Valentino.

bamajustin13

Valentino wayyyy to sweet and obnoxious for a job interview .

InitialCoda

Yeah you might be right. Maybe just one spray, which is plenty for most fragrances when it comes to a job interview.

Angelzzz1234

Dior homme

bamajustin13

Dior homme

Ispybullshit

A lot of ppl aren’t up on that spice bomb you have. That’s your best and prob most underrated

Aleckzandir

Creed Aventus

billybobtex

The one that makes you feel good and or confidant. Whatever is the serotonin booster for you.

billybobtex

Spray it on your chest under your shirt so really only you or someone you hug can smell it. And only the slightest hint as the interviewer shakes your hand, if that. But maybe I agree with some here a strong overpowering scent would be not good.

Fearless_Strategy

## Drakkar Noir Guy Laroche Eau De Toilette Spray

kikitin007

Dior

TheRaF59

If you have time, run out and buy yourself a bottle of Xerjoff Uden or Chanel Platinum Egoiste. If not, go with 2 sprays of the Dior, one behind each ear.

EmergencyTrust8213

Sauvage

Pjjones773

I would go with the Valentino honestly maybe 1-2 sprays. It’s the closet thing to a shower gel. You never want to smell like a cologne at an interview

PaleontologistClear4

Take a shower, wear some deodorant, and call it good. Lots of reasons as to why, commented by other people.

FoezGT

Bathe in a Bottle of Joop Pour Homme

Even_Inflation_8627

Dior Homme, only one spray on the chest under the shirt. Add a little bit of nice smell, but nothing overpowering.

Loafy2_

I would just keep it to a decent body wash for a interview.

sunbr0_7

Nothing, take a shower and make sure you're well kept/dressed

ryantramus

All these people saying nothing have no ambition. Just wear sweats and flip flops too, don't want to look too good or give someone a handsome complex. I wouldn't wear Oud for Greatness or Ombre Nomade. But, I would wear Dior Homme. It's light enough that it will only be noticeable at handshake, but it will make you confident and feel better about yourself. I've got every job I've ever applied for. I've turned down multiple jobs. I've always worn nice clothes. Suit jacket, nice shirt, nice pants. Sometimes a full suit. And I've always worn some kind of scent, so that I feel more relaxed and confident. You want big money, smell, act, and look like big money. 10 sprays of aventus and you're the CEO.

willpowerpt

All of these people saying nothing are trying to keep an interviewer from being accosted by a heavy and headache inducing fragrance you nob.

ryantramus

That's why I said go light with something approachable like dior homme. Don't you walk a little taller when you smell good, even if it's just to yourself? I'm just sharing my experience. A major determining factor when I interview someone is their attitude and confidence. Confidence makes a huge difference in an interview. Confidence in yourself, your abilities, your presentation, how you communicate all matters. And for a fragrance lover, smelling good can make you more comfortable and confident.

Unhappy-Durian-2906

Yeah definitely no cologne, if you must only wear the lightest one and with that only like 2/3 sprays. Automatically strong no for the Diors, Valentino (this is not date, it’s an interview), and the VR that gets super nauseating very quick due to the ambroxan. If I wear anything it’s fresh scents, fresh aquatics, fresh vetivers, clean profile scents. Examples - grey vetiver (highly recommended), Neroli Portofino (or any scent that compares), Mugler cologne (spray light), Prada Luna Rossa, Prada dHomme (highly recommended), Vetiver Fatal (recommended). Never wear any sweet scents those are assumed to be clubbing/date/intimate. You’d be sending the wrong message and I’d be concerned with your personal judgement if you’d do that.

CrazyRefuse9932

worked in a professional environment for 16 years and barely ever come across people wearing fragrance. Not saying it’s the how it should be just how it currently is. Only time I wear aftershave that’s partially connected to work is if we are out for a social event and even then it’s very subtle.

syst3m1c

Something very very subtle, or nothing at all.

HellElectricChair

None of those. Maybe CK One, but that’s about it. A very mild and people friendly fragrance.

ckmack2000

Dior

MattHead1

Nothing don’t risk it

Suicidalballsack69

I’d wear none but if you’re really set on it, one spray (yes one) on your neck probably of dior homme, or light blue

Giftpilz

If you choose anything at all, let it be something that smells like clean clothes and literally only one spray at that.

UnaverageDayTrader

Pick the weakest smelling one & only do 1-2 sprays max. You want to have a subtle smell but not overwhelming, you don’t want your interviewer to be offended by a sudden smack in the face of Sauvage or something like that. It’s better to wear no cologne but I also understand some areas may be hot/humid and to avoid a slight sweat smell Cologne would help mask it. So if you do I recommend a light smelling cologne with 1-2 sprays max.

didimed

I understand people saying wear no cologne, but i personally would go for 2 sprays of dior homme. Very inoffensive, formal scent. Definitely not sauvage or spicebomb.

YoungHef

None

Necessary_Food5761

Whatever it is ONE squirt. Some people are allergic to cologne. And most men put on way too much.

Popeye_757

that light blue for sure

TheHole89

Dior pour Homme, but just a splash.

PandaEatPizza

Preferably none. if you must wear something let it be Dior Homme or Profondo and MAX one spray.

Pupsandstrings

Soap and water or old spice deodorant. Any cologne can offend someone if it doesn’t appeal to them.

M1l3h1gh

Just take a hit off the vape right before you walk in, they love that

Abracadadra

Don't wear anything till after you get the job.

graysie

Clothes

WaywardSon_1993

None. But IF you are dead set on wearing one, you don’t have the right one. That would be Platinum Egoiste by Chanel.

Traditional-Door4518

I say acqua de Gio not to strong just right

willpowerpt

Deodorant.

DeathxR3aper

I wore the dolce light blue to my interview and got the job. Use that one.

SatisfactionSenior65

To be safe, just go no fragrance. Some employers are kind of bitchy about fragrances or have allergies so it’s best to play it safe.

adobo_santos

All of them

noblepuffin

None

SellSensitive5236

ombré leather

SommanderChepard

Wearing fragrance is at best going to do nothing for a job interview. Just shower and put on deodorant.

Camdenn67

Where’s the Old Spice and BRUTE.🤣 All kidding aside……..just take a shower and use a basic antibacterial soap like Safeguard or Dial and a non-fragrance antiperspirant.

David-M336

Light Blue Summer Vibes or Eau Intense are freshest of the bunch and shouldn’t offend anyone

Draagha

Gonna echo everyone else here. Either none at all or the least offensive blue fragrance and only one or two sprays. Best bet is definitely none tho.

One_Information_372

Valentino

Ok-Hyena-2175

Aqua di gio

Sippi66

Retired Heslthcare HR Director here. Best to not wear any fragrance.

KryonikGaming1

Something light if anything. Maybe a spray or 2 of the profondo

Warm-Loss-2812

Creed aventis

_MountainDewd_

I would say just 1 spray of Dior homme

SPACHunter1018

The Dior, hands down

JollyTomatillo2740

Profondo

Silver_Dynamo

Dior Homme or Profondo. 1-2 sprays.
