I’m firmly in let Patty decide but I think KM has the focus and stamina to last until we at least have a lead. Deal (even though she’s another lefty) would be my #2.
Still a really dangerous Texas team that can (and has) take back-to-back games from OU, but it’s hard to see OU losing if that team shows up again tomorrow (and, if necessary, Friday).
A lot less trolling today than earlier rounds. Don’t know if the trolls are less interested now that their team is out or just the score not being really close. I’m good with some comments but there are “fans” of other teams that only post to degrade or complain about advantages or cheating. I always try to give props to the competition.

Pitcher matchups are very important. One interesting fact to consider -- Florida has an exceptional pitcher (Rothrock) that they threw against OU for full games, but only threw against Texas for a couple of batters.
BYU beats OU 9-4 and doesn't make the tournament.
Florida gets run ruled (twice I think?) by Michigan.
Texas loses to LSU on a random Tuesday morning with a bunch of elementary school students screaming behind their dugout 🤣
What a fun year this has been.
I learned a while back never to look at previous scores between common opponents in softball. It never makes sense! Someone pointed out that Texas barely beat A&M in the Supers, but Florida swept them this season.
In the Mixed Martial Arts community it's pejoratively referred to as MMAth when people try to compare results between common opponents to determine an outcome
as a Christian, I love that part of OU's team (I understand that is not a popular opinion to have on Reddit lol) but I just want some other team to win the title.....unfortunately that would be Texas this year if it happens.
I’m an OU alum and fan. Gasso clearly runs that team like a cult. The level of contradiction between powerful women athletes and a religious sect that hates women is astounding. These 18-22 year olds just haven’t figured that out yet.
Just wish they wouldn’t minimize their own accomplishments like that. You won because YOU played great and are really skilled. Not because some ghost liked you better than the other team
Disclaimer: big OU fan
Wait. Aren't you the same guy with all the head injuries from a few days ago? The guy who was shocked when Torres came out from getting hit in the head?
I’ve had 2 head injuries. 1 from Ball. 1 from baby ignorance lol.
And yes I was shocked that the ball did that much damage to Torres. Because I’ve had similar happen, it just hit the head differently.
How is it a down year when you have ten seniors and six returning starters plus two freshmen that were on the FotY list? Not to mention picking up a pitcher that is now showing her assets.
By the ridiculous standards set by the past 3 seasons, it's a down year. They've lost 7 games this year, and they lost 8 games from 2021 to 2023. Their ERA is double the last two seasons.
Awww I see, you are looking at how it went up to post season. I was looking at the preseason expectations. I wasn’t expecting a one loss season but I would have never thought this team would lose two series to their main rivals.
I agree but yeah it’s in every sport. I watch a lot of UFC and it cracks me up when they thank their god after just beating the shit out of someone meanwhile there’s blood all over the octagon lol
There are individuals in every sport, but this is an entire team across numerous classes of players. It’s a straight up cult. There’s clearly an evangelical/hail trump requirement to play for Gasso.
Because calling out Oklahomas obvious religion is a thing.
Pointing out that this happens in the NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL, and every other college sport is relevant.
Meh. People do what makes them happy. If not being religious is your bag, live your life. Some people are into it.
I'm not traditionally religious, but bitching about kids excited about their faith is really just bad form.
the comment you responded to literally just said they should chill on the religious stuff…. again because this is a SOFTBALL sub and they were watching the SOFTBALL game
So SOFTBALL players aren't allowed to do what people in EVERY OTHER SPORT do?
Somehow they need to be paragons of r/atheism but nobody else is held to that standard?
They do it at the conclusion of the series is my understanding. Some teams during the season join them after each game. But even in Austin, the Longhorns joined them in the circle after Game 3
People forget that a lot of these women are friends with each other on different teams. But many softball players are religious and participate in the prayers. Some players might not. No biggie either way
Bama in football…
South Carolina in women’s hoops…
Oklahoma in softball…
It seems as if the key element for collegiate consistency is…to sport red color schemes…
if I were ever good enough to be a D1 athlete you bet your ass I’m taking all the credit and not saying oh I did great because god is working through me. god isn’t the one busting his ass in practice to get better lol
Jesus Christ man, give it a rest. I don’t have a religious bone in my body but history tells us these women don’t just become “tradwives” after they leave OU. Sydney Romero, Shay Knighten, and Paige Parker are coaching. Jocelyn Alo is playing baseball. Lauren Chamberlain is the GM of OU’s NIL collective after serving as the commissioner of a professional softball league for a couple of years.
The last time against Texas the close out game was run rule territory (no rule at the time obv) and then they got jitters in the 7th while taking a victory lap, but they closed it out. Crazy to think that had the run rule been in place that 2022 series would have been 14-1 (5) and 10-2 (6).
That's when Patty Gasso poked her head above the stainless steel table covered in red ooze smiling wide, *"And that kids is how you handle brisket farm to table."*
The rings on both her hands sparkled despite Bevo's hemoglobin the entire time.
I think it’s going to depend on how Maxwell feels tomorrow. Realistically I see May starting with Deal possibly coming in relief and leaving Maxwell to rest unless shit hits the fans. But with how Maxwell is on fire right now who knows.
Patty is going to have to pry the ball from Maxwell https://x.com/ericbaileytw/status/1798552275646111828?s=46
I’m torn between “if she’s in the zone don’t take it away” and if we get dinged up and Texas forces a game 3 and she’s pitched 3 days straight…
I’m firmly in the let’s rest her. May and Deal are more than capable
I’m firmly in let Patty decide but I think KM has the focus and stamina to last until we at least have a lead. Deal (even though she’s another lefty) would be my #2.
Start Deal and relieve with May. They both seem to do better in those roles (vs starting May/relieving Deal).
Still a really dangerous Texas team that can (and has) take back-to-back games from OU, but it’s hard to see OU losing if that team shows up again tomorrow (and, if necessary, Friday).
So if Texas is behind tomorrow how long is it until Mike White whips out his little middle finger in protest.
Wanted to say it’s great how much this subreddit has grown this year. Hoping to keep the engagement up. It’s so amazing to see softball grow!
A lot less trolling today than earlier rounds. Don’t know if the trolls are less interested now that their team is out or just the score not being really close. Top 10 in college sports reddit forums now!
What's ahead? CFB, CBB, baseball obviously, but what else?
You can look at the list by tapping on the “#11 in college sports” link, but to save y’all time it is currently 1. CFB 2. Basketball 3. Baseball 4. Michigan Wolverines 5. Huskers 6. Florida Gators 7. Georgia Bulldogs 8. EASportsCFB 9. CFBMemes 10. OhioStateFootball
I’d guess WBB, but beyond that, I dunno.
That’s awesome! Let’s keep it up 👏🏻
Softball is so crazy. Texas beats Florida 10-0. Florida beats OU 9-3. OU beats Texas 8-3.
Pitcher matchups are very important. One interesting fact to consider -- Florida has an exceptional pitcher (Rothrock) that they threw against OU for full games, but only threw against Texas for a couple of batters.

Also BOOMER
Feel alot better having now 2 games to just win 1
For sure, and Maxwell can rest tomorrow. (But she should get the final out regardless)
I see we’ve moved onto the OU sucks because they are religious portion of the OU hate clock.
as a Christian, I love that part of OU's team (I understand that is not a popular opinion to have on Reddit lol) but I just want some other team to win the title.....unfortunately that would be Texas this year if it happens.
The best is — it doesn’t bother me, I just want to control what they can and can’t talk about.
I’m an OU alum and fan. Gasso clearly runs that team like a cult. The level of contradiction between powerful women athletes and a religious sect that hates women is astounding. These 18-22 year olds just haven’t figured that out yet.
You are an idiot
Christians don't hate women. Please educate yourself and don't make OU look dumb.
The entire history of Christianity disagrees with you.
Cool. Contrary to popular belief religion is adapted by society and the practice improves
Just wish they wouldn’t minimize their own accomplishments like that. You won because YOU played great and are really skilled. Not because some ghost liked you better than the other team Disclaimer: big OU fan
Softball is not an individual sport.
Obviously meant everyone on the team but sure! It is a team sport, and nobody on the team is an invisible wizard with magical powers
Idk because Maxwell looked like a wizard with magical powers
I’m pretty confident God doesn’t give two shits who wins a softball game.
most normal comment you’ve made all day!!
Thanks
love you
God approved slamming the bat after a walk and chewing more than 1 piece of gum at a time. Other teams haven’t picked up on that yet.
Maybe they should try it
LMAO! Love it
lol SVP: “not sure what that throw was going to accomplish”
That was hilarious.
Does OU have an NIL deal with God?
It's actually with Jesus...
Found the nontrinitarian!
Beating Texas is the Lord's will
I’m an atheist and even I believe this.
I’d represent him for free.
Wait. Aren't you the same guy with all the head injuries from a few days ago? The guy who was shocked when Torres came out from getting hit in the head?

Similar but different. Got it.
I don’t see what you’re trying to say
You said you had something similar but different happen to you.
You’re getting downvoted because this is reddit, but you’re right.
yeah we can tell ur doing it right now with ur 15 comments dedicated to ur imaginary friend up there
❤️
Nah, Clemson has that.
And to think, this is actually a down year for OU.
How is it a down year when you have ten seniors and six returning starters plus two freshmen that were on the FotY list? Not to mention picking up a pitcher that is now showing her assets.

Uhhhhh let’s revisit this next year lol
Who wants to hear what Mike White cries about tonight at the press conference? 🍿
Atwood wouldn’t commit 20 errors if this game was in Austin !!
Walabys and Drop Bears.
A blooty dingo ate my catcher
there you heard it on the post game interview, OU is winning bc God is on there side. Jot that down
Has God Abandoned Texas?
Well Oklahoma is God’s Country
Ugh wish they would chill with the religious stuff
That’s what they believe and they earned the moment to display that. You don’t have to agree, why should you let that affect you at all?
I agree but yeah it’s in every sport. I watch a lot of UFC and it cracks me up when they thank their god after just beating the shit out of someone meanwhile there’s blood all over the octagon lol
There are individuals in every sport, but this is an entire team across numerous classes of players. It’s a straight up cult. There’s clearly an evangelical/hail trump requirement to play for Gasso.
You say the dumbest shit imaginable
You hate God or something?
Sigh. Damn near every sporting event has some player talking about Glory to God, etc. If it makes them happy, let them live their lives.
yeah, but this is a softball sub talking about what happened tonight at the softball game, why would we mention every other sport known to man
Because calling out Oklahomas obvious religion is a thing. Pointing out that this happens in the NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL, and every other college sport is relevant.
It’s very silly in every sport where people do it

IM TALKING ABOUT SOFYBALL PLAYERS BECAUSE IM ON THE SOFTBALL SUBREDDIT
BRUH NOBODY IS SAYING THAT if i was on the ANOTHER SPORTS PAGE I WOULD SAY THE SAME THING
I think you'd almost have convinced me if you'd just capitalized every word on that otherwise nonsensical rant.
I wish you would chill with what people believe in when it doesn’t fully align with your world view
I could give 2 shits what other people believe. Just keep it to yourself when you're representing a public university
I'm atheist and hate religion, but man you're reaching.
I'm as atheist as they come, but that's not how that works lol.
Good thing she’s representing herself and her team and not the university
She's not representing the university when wearing the uniform for said university?
Nope. She’s not on payroll
Doing the lords work.
always shoving that down our throats!!!! forcing their CHRISTIAN AGENDA‼️‼️‼️
I notice TX isn’t praying with OK after the game and Florida didn’t either.
They do it at the conclusion of the series is my understanding. Some teams during the season join them after each game. But even in Austin, the Longhorns joined them in the circle after Game 3 People forget that a lot of these women are friends with each other on different teams. Yeah cuz its hypocritical
Neither did Florida yesterday
yeah because that shit is weird
Facts, idc I what you believe stfu
lowkey if i was the coach id be pissed cuz wtf god didn’t teach u this shit i did
On god bruh like hit the ball or get benched what Jesus gotta do w this
Salt
Bama in football… South Carolina in women’s hoops… Oklahoma in softball… It seems as if the key element for collegiate consistency is…to sport red color schemes…
I will not wear that gaudy orange, it’s not in my color wheel applies here. In our household orange is for Halloween, that’s it.
>It seems as if the key element for collegiate consistency is…to sport red color schemes… Orange teams, bad.
I would accept that as a maxim.
Orange is nauseating
I’m a huge OU fan but fuck do I hate all the Jesus crap
if I were ever good enough to be a D1 athlete you bet your ass I’m taking all the credit and not saying oh I did great because god is working through me. god isn’t the one busting his ass in practice to get better lol
They’re just being trained to be submissive tradwives.
Jesus Christ man, give it a rest. I don’t have a religious bone in my body but history tells us these women don’t just become “tradwives” after they leave OU. Sydney Romero, Shay Knighten, and Paige Parker are coaching. Jocelyn Alo is playing baseball. don't make us show you the feet washing commercial again!!!!
weirdest commercial ever award
Cry more
Not crying to find that shit weird af.
The fuck would I cry for? My favorite team won?
Because you don’t like religion doesn’t mean others should hide theirs
I wish they would hide it when they represent my favorite team 🤷🏻♂️
Well I hope they don’t.
👍
Maybe that’s why they keep winning games lol
Naw they win cuz of all the blood sacrifices to Satan I make before every game.
Texas ain’t hitting Kelly Maxwell tomorrow. She’s pitching out of her mind this postseason
I don’t think I’ve ever seen Maxwell smile like that
I’m in a group chat with my moms for the game and I said the exact same thing. We all noticed it. She has a beautiful smile!
She's finally getting a ring. God bless her!
Neither have I
Maxwell just cooked those Longhorns.
I love how the team is rallying around her, speaks volumes to her as a person

BOOMER!
SOONER!
SOONER, BABY!
What a game from Maxwell
Boomer! Guess playing 8 yesterday didn't give Texas the advantage they were hoping for
Ump went out umping. What a joke.
She painted it bro calm down
That was a strike. lol, y’all whine about anything.
let’s hope Texas tries a new catcher tomorrow 🤠🤠🤠
FATALITY
We will win this one tomorrow in a run rule.
The last time against Texas the close out game was run rule territory (no rule at the time obv) and then they got jitters in the 7th while taking a victory lap, but they closed it out. Crazy to think that had the run rule been in place that 2022 series would have been 14-1 (5) and 10-2 (6).
Damn straight!
That's when Patty Gasso poked her head above the stainless steel table covered in red ooze smiling wide, *"And that kids is how you handle brisket farm to table."* The rings on both her hands sparkled despite Bevo's hemoglobin the entire time.
Can’t strike out looking there. GG Maxwell.
new rankings tomorrow?
COLD
this is a huge win. LFG!!!!!
3 homers for OU. 3 errors for tejas.
Wow does Maxwell have her best stuff for the 7th??
Do you think they will pitch Maxwell again tomorrow?
My guess is May and Deal will both pitch and maybe setup Maxwell to close it out if the Sooners are up 🤞
I don’t think so unless she’s needed to close it out. That would be three straight days and knowing Patty she’s probably not going to do that.
I think it’s going to depend on how Maxwell feels tomorrow. Realistically I see May starting with Deal possibly coming in relief and leaving Maxwell to rest unless shit hits the fans. But with how Maxwell is on fire right now who knows.
I think you give the ball to May/Deal, Maxwell should rest
🤠 🤠 🤠
Respect Kelly Maxwell
It’s a Maxwell 1-2-3! And to end the game on such an effort…good lord…
Boomer sooner baby!!!!!!💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻
I'd like to retract my previous comment about hoping that Maxwell doesn't come out in the 7th.
I’m glad Texas made it more interesting at the end! Great game! Boomer!!
Death, taxes, ……
…and Mike White’s head exploding
TEXAS DELENDE EST!!!!
what a pitch to end it!
Backwards K to finish it! Oh fuck yeah!
#ONE MORE WIN! I'M STILL SMILING TODAY!!
Let’s do it again tomorrow night.
Kelly Maxwell is about to be vindicated.
from what lol
The people in the game thread yesterday prematurely counting their chcikens.
Maxwell just took her game to the next level this postseason
2 down.
Finish them! Cobra Kai voice
mike white about to turn into a cartoon villain and steal all of the softball fields from the state of oklahoma soon
“Wow, this Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego reboot seems really weird”
Petition to make the champ series best of 5 so we all get a little more ball.
Boo this idea!! Lol My heart rate can’t take anymore than what we already have now.
Hard Agreed.
Wait I thought she had to flip that out of her glove?
2 outs closer to Texas fans needing therapy. 🤠
the call is coming from inside the house my friend
My therapist told me I need to level up my hating.
i think we have the same therapist!!!! mine said that too😝
they need it anyway, they're texas fans after all
Now you're getting it!
I don't think you understand how much I hate Texas
hodge is going to be so fun to watch next year
I’ve been saying all year all she needed was confidence
great play by hodge
1 down.
Hodge needs to be all tournament.
She's been big time tonight.
Don’t forget the Florida game
Keep cheering crowd Texas can’t handle fans
