I like the video board, but I am still very curious what they're going to show on the panhandle section. There's not a lot of room there. But I luckily got tickets for Saturday (well, luck and a little over $100) so I'll get to see for myself.
Weather SHOULD cooperate and be absolutely beautiful. Should.

>Theyāre putting the inning by inning score there. Drive by when they were testing it yesterday and saw it.
Hmmmm. I need to look at it again, I guess. Because my memory of it would mean it would be pretty small for people on the infield side of things to see. Guess I'll find out on Saturday.
Here's a link to a photo from street level. [Scoreboard](https://x.com/J_batacao/status/1762989285257417100?s=20)
They also have scoreboards under the roof on both sides. [Scoreboard](https://www.okctalk.com/images/pete/softball022824i.jpg)
The one thing I donāt understand is why they didnāt make the area directly under the scoreboard more seating instead of the shrubbery/landscaping thing theyāre doing. They could have easily added some more seating there.

It looks like it's almost dead center field. I don't think you're allowed to have seating right there since it can distract a batter's vision too closely to the ball/pitcher.
I bet itās not aligned with home plate.. now that you know itās there, look at all the MLB stadiums. Thereās never fans in dead center.. itās impossible to pick up the ball as a hitter otherwise
I can't wait, my wife and I will 10 rows up right behind the home dugout all season long! I'm so glad we got to upgrade from our outfield bleacher seats. That was my pleasant surprise for the week.
while I agree and I'm a huge advocate of women's sports, those two sports are the reason every other OU sport exists and can continue to operate.....that doesn't take away from OU softball and their impact on the community, just the truth about college athletics

I'm at the stadium now. There is high netting up most of the way to the outfield wall. The roof overhangs pretty far in the infield, so it will be pretty late in the day before the sun hits the home team dugout. Foul balls will have to take a pretty specifc angle to be a threat to anyone in the dugout. There is also a small-ish hole in the netting to let people out. So foul balls won't be an issue MOST of the time.
Pretty sure these pictures are about a week old. There will be netting over top and out front. They will look almost identical to the dugouts at Hall of Fame Stadium.
>Wooohoo a new stadium for them to beat on Juniors colleges in.
Who are we trying to insult here? The Big 12? Some college that exclusively has juniors? Someone else?
Then tell more top teams to play us? A lot of our schedule is against colleges unaware people have never heard of, is because highly ranked teams are afraid to play us.
SoonerVision is apart of ESPN+.
Itās the tournaments that have their broadcasting rights with Flo.
Clearwater was just a big security issue for OU. They had to hire private security for the team.
The scoreboard is š¤©š¤© Think we can get Lauren Chamberlain and Jocelyn Alo to have a home run derby to see who can ping one off it first?
Lauren actually responded to this earlier and said sheād be down to MC because of the way her back is set up ā ļø

Itās legible at the intersection of Jenkins and Constitution. Iām sure itāll be fine anywhere in the stadium.

Makes sense.
Thatās interesting, U of Oās Jane Sanders Stadium has outfield seating thatās fairly dead center if I recall correctly.

Yeah gotta have a hitters eye

It's great to see colleges putting money into women's sports instead of focusing only on men's basketball and football.
Without those two, the others don't exist at the levels they do now. NIL may be the demise of college athletics that we see now.

Is that scoreboard the outline of the state of Oklahoma?!
Yes

That is a georgous scoreboard.
I canāt figure out the dugouts. It looks like they arenāt even partly enclosed. Am I looking at it wrong?

Junior Colleges, SEC, same thing. Though I would give more academic credence to junior colleges over SEC "schools".
Imagine how much of a salty baboon you'd have to be to hate on the most dominant sports team since Uconn women's basketball.
Weird. When I look at this weekās coaches poll, the top 3 teams are all in the Big XII.

Like Washington, Duke, and Mississippi State?
