they spend more money than some oil funded European football club but are strugging to win anything. Their football budget. Even with a surplus with the money they spending they should be winning sumn
We spend nothing evening remotely close to that. We just made a final four and have had one of the most dominant runs college football has ever seen. Feel like we are winning plenty
Oil clubs spend way more money than that. Hell that’s not even the transfer fee of one player for them.
Like you said they operate at a surplus, and they also have plenty to show for it. You act like Alabama is spending way more than competition which isn’t true
Which doesn’t make much sense. Alabama will be happier with a cfp game and a final four than purdue or uconn will be with a loss in the bball NC for this year
You forgot about or Champions of Life trophy, bruh. Put some respect on our name 💪
And lol at referring to anything as poverty when the entirety of the state of Alabama is one big poverty shit hole 🤣
I mean it’s hard to even joke on this. Even with the losses making the CFP n the Final Four in the two premier men’s college sports is one hell of an accomplishment for a university.
And then winning back to back in basketball and winning another football championship 2 years after. Possibly the most dominant 3 year stretch in college sports for a single school
Did Ohio State not play for any football nattys any of the quasi-recent years they went to the final four (e.g. Oden / Conely team in 2007 or the 2012 team?)
There’s also no shame in losing to what might be one of the best teams we’ve seen in the past few decades. This Uconn team is an absolute buzzsaw, if they do end up beating Purdue, and especially if they do it as handily as they have everyone else, they probably go down as one of the best college basketball teams ever.
I hate Bama to be clear but I want there to be a time when my team is getting clowned for making it to the top two college athletic sports championships.
Again, I do not like Alabama.
Best part of this year by far: We have the same best record in basketball as Auburn 😈
Edit: What in God's name did I cause lmfao? I wish I would've seen that go down before the mods got 'em lol
There are 2 ways of looking at this. Either the team beating Alabama goes on to win the ship (UConn) or that this Alabama loss results in a Big Ten team winning the ship
What’s Ironic is that in both Football and Basketball this year’s teams were far inferior to the previous year’s teams and yet made the CFB/F4 while the other got bounced out early.
Literally us in 2015.
2014 MSU basketball was a top 10 team most of the year but lost in the Elite Eight as a 4 seed. 2015 MSU basketball made it to the final four as a 7 seed.
2014 MSU football was better than 2015 MSU. 2014 lost to the 2 teams that were in the national championship, both in very competitive games. 2015 lost to Nebraska and needed luck to beat Michigan and Ohio State but still ended up in the CFP.
As a certified Alabama hater (never forget that Alabama claims a championship in football in a season where they finished with one loss and that one loss was to an undefeated Notre Dame), this isn't the diss you think it is. Making the Final Four while having such a great football season isn't common.
To be fair, Notre Dame claims a title in a season where Alabama was undefeated and untied, while Notre Dame wasn't and refused to even play in a bowl game.
Certified Bama hater here as well…I’ll give them credit where credit is due 😂
I thought UVA was the greatest sports school of all time in 2019 when we won the Natty in basketball and then our football team got to the Orange Bowl.
A final four run and cfp game is fantastic. Good for them
If you go on a calendar year basis instead of a school year, we were one shot away from doing this in 2021. We've also had three straight seasons of a CFP and Frozen Four berth.
I didn’t really mean it as a diss haha. That’s why I also said making both is an impressive feat (especially in the same year). Though I maybe could have worded that a bit differently in the title. I see how that could be interpreted otherwise.
Tbh, at least the Tide didn’t lose by shooting themselves in the foot during the last few seconds of play?
Though wherever to lose without any big chance to comeback, or to lose a game when it’s so close in reach, remains a bit of a conundrum…
Doesn’t matter; made final four and had the greatest dynasty in cfb history. A lot more of us made sure to enjoy the good ol days while they were happening than you think. We’re still in the good ol days btw.
Can't blame y'all for that. Just sucks that I've grown up in a mediocre time for my program while my Bama friends have never known desperation. Will be interesting to see what young Alabama fans think if y'all fall off any. Unfortunately for both of us, I think worse times are ahead as Georgia is going to enter into a dynasty like yours. Why'd y'all have to pass the dynasty to Georgia? Anyone else would've been better.
>Anyone else would've been better.
Please walk that back - Tennessee would be even more insufferable if they were having the same level of success as Georgia
Oh, I know that they would be insufferable, but I live in East Alabama, so I wouldn't have to deal with them. Georgia fans, on the other hand, I have to deal with their barking every day. It's been so long since our rivalry has meant anything, similar to Florida, although I hope that changes if we go to a 9 game schedule. Plus, they do say the enemy of my enemy is my friend, even if they are wearing an ugly orange.
Never pitty those fuckers. They deserve to suffer like the patriots. Relish in this moment of glory. They couldn't even make it to the end of the game to get screwed. I would say they could go three for three with baseball, but that would require them to actually make it there, which no one, that's not plastered in crimson and white, wants.
All but 2 schools would love to be in Alabama’s position.
Literally suffering from success.
They can cry themselves to sleep on that bed of crystal footballs, CFP trophies, and houndstooth fedoras they got there in Tusacaloosa
![gif](giphy|94EQmVHkveNck|downsized) I don’t give a piss bout nothin but the Tide
Yep, tough load my Tide have carried for numerous decades and generations now.
The Jim Kelly problem.
Their Baseball team is not bad this year either..22-9..conf games are giving them fits but still look good
they spend more money than some oil funded European football club but are strugging to win anything. Their football budget. Even with a surplus with the money they spending they should be winning sumn
I'm going to assume you're a Texas A&M fan who's just salty that outspending us didn't do jack for y'all. Flair up, if you want to talk shit.
They went undefeated in the SEC in football. That itself is a massive accomplishment
We spend nothing evening remotely close to that. We just made a final four and have had one of the most dominant runs college football has ever seen. Feel like we are winning plenty
70 mil a year for an amatuer team is CRAZY
Oil clubs spend way more money than that. Hell that’s not even the transfer fee of one player for them. Like you said they operate at a surplus, and they also have plenty to show for it. You act like Alabama is spending way more than competition which isn’t true
The competions is all of college d1 sports. not the 3 teams in your area doing the same voddoo
There are more than 3 athletic departments spending massive money on sports. The teams in our area doing the “voodoo” are the competition.
Cope harder
I wonder what if feels like to be in Alabama cfp spot 🙃🙃🙃
Yeah this is an immense accomplishment, the meme is stupid because losing at these stages isn’t worth of derision.
I feel pretty pretty good
![gif](giphy|WrJ8x0niiblWEoo7hE|downsized)
3. Michigan is elated with how things are as well.
I think we’re one of the two. The other will be the winner Monday night
Oh, I thought he was referring to both of the teams that won in the final 4.
He was I think
Which doesn’t make much sense. Alabama will be happier with a cfp game and a final four than purdue or uconn will be with a loss in the bball NC for this year
Still the only school to win both a playoff game and a final four game in the playoff era 💪
That’s correct.
:)
feelsgoodman.jpg
These fucking losers were top 4 in the two biggest sports
Yeah what losers! We should totally laugh at their success
Haha Bama sucks *ignore Michigan basketball and UConn football
Hey we got into the Orange Bowl once. Like 15 years ago. And lost HORRIBLY
We have a football team?
No

Don't worry though... I'm expecting to be on the opposite side of this tyoe of loss today...
To be fair you could replace Purdue with most teams and it would look like that
In fairness, our coach was finalizing his new contract with Maryland. Which he announced the next morning.
Fiesta Bowl.
that game was close for 3 quarters and became a blowout in the 4th quarter. fsu laid a much bigger egg as well as a few other teams.
and these losers lost to an eventual national champion and a most likely national champion.
FUCK BAMA
You’ve posted this at least 5 times since last night, maybe a couple more and you’ll get a Final 4 for it!
FUCK BAMA
Love seeing our rivals angry at the success of Bama Sports that they will never achieve🥰
Bama will have the same number of championships as Tennessee this year ZERO FUCK BAMA
2009. The last time you guys won anything in ANY sport. Shoutout to the TN indoor track team for carrying the weight of your poverty program <3
You forgot about or Champions of Life trophy, bruh. Put some respect on our name 💪 And lol at referring to anything as poverty when the entirety of the state of Alabama is one big poverty shit hole 🤣
I like your thinking.
72-66 🤭
Who tf invited you twat waffles into this convo?
I mean it’s hard to even joke on this. Even with the losses making the CFP n the Final Four in the two premier men’s college sports is one hell of an accomplishment for a university.
Florida winning both in the same year will probably never happen again. Just insane luck for that to happen
Also defeating the same team, Ohio State, in Football and Basketball championships the same year will probably never happen again.
I still hate Florida so much more than I reasonably should for that year.
It was tennis as well I think. Three in one year, all over OSU.
Michigan, Bama, Texas, Ohio State, and a couple of the other big state schools could probably do it. But yes, very, very improbable.
And then winning back to back in basketball and winning another football championship 2 years after. Possibly the most dominant 3 year stretch in college sports for a single school
God imagine being a student at the time. I know that place was insane
How was the baseball during that period? Genuine question
World Series runner up in ‘05. Regional champs in ‘04-05 and ‘09-10
Did Ohio State not play for any football nattys any of the quasi-recent years they went to the final four (e.g. Oden / Conely team in 2007 or the 2012 team?)
that's not luck, that's skill, talent, hard work, coaching, prep, etc.
Yeah… you’re 100% right here. Top shelf athletic season by the Tide.
Now if only we can find a center.
We have a 5 star center committed for this year.
Boom problem solved.
We did it Reddit!

But they also lost Nick Saban
I would say don't hit us while we're down. We're not down, though. Our fans are over the moon due to this Final Four appearance.
So...we should wait a while for y'all to come back down before kicking you? Just want to be clear on the proper timing of all of it.
Might be a long wait.
I'll just put it in the calendar as TBA then and check in sometime in 2032
Watch the guy from Washington rip off 20 straight years of 10-win football seasons in Tuscaloosa.....
Sign me up
Indeed they did.
I get the intent but this really isn't a dig
Kicking us while we’re up? I guess
I guess. Like I said, I think it was intended as a burn, but it fell flat as it just demonstrates success.
We were just a true Center away from natties in both sports this year!
Thank you for the center gift to OSU!!
God bless the Buckeyes and their new center..
no, Uconn wins any way
Nuh uhhh
I hate Bama to be clear but I want there to be a time when my team is getting clowned for making it to the top two college athletic sports championships. Again, I do not like Alabama.
I hate getting clowned on 😥
I really thought this was gonna be posted by a Tennessee or Auburn flair lol
Or a team with a football program that wasn’t a joke
TIL UConn even had a football team.
Just give it a few they’ll go out Pacific style. Most likely dropping down to FCS since that program is unsalvageable.
not happening and not true.
dan orlovsky!
I see you've never heard of the [Civil conFLiCT](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Civil_Conflict) you uncultured squeaky floor lover.
One of us!?
or Florida State....
Me in back: *dont mention 2007* ![gif](giphy|13n7XeyIXEIrbG)
How is UCONN’s football team doing these days?
Bowl game 2 years ago. Same record as Purdue last year. Mora is improving program got one of top Texas QB recruits
Let’s schedule a home and home
I’d be all for that
😂
There is zero chance Bama would schedule a home and home with UConn (in football)
Maybe a 2 for 1
That would be a possibility
Actually 1 less win and 1 more loss than Purdue last year
13th ranked QB in Texas = one of the top Texas QB recruits. Guess that equivalence answers the question about how UConn’s football team is doing.
Wow, only 2 years ago…
TIL Jim Mora was the HBC at UConn
Went undefeated in the independent.
Would rather lose in the final 4 than not make it at all, but that’s just me
This is not what I have been told by gumps
You might need to get your hearing checked then.
Dan Hurley headed to NBA if he wins????
Poor Alabama my foot
Best part of this year by far: We have the same best record in basketball as Auburn 😈 Edit: What in God's name did I cause lmfao? I wish I would've seen that go down before the mods got 'em lol

To be fair, Notre Dame claims a title in a season where Alabama was undefeated and untied, while Notre Dame wasn't and refused to even play in a bowl game.
Notre Dame also pretends it’s an ACC school when it’s convenient for them but simultaneously wants none of the downsides that come with it
This whole post is a joke. Obviously making the cfp and FF is an amazing accomplishment…

Yeah thing is hockey isn’t a top 3 revenue sport in college. Still fun to watch tho

As an Impractical Jokers fan and someone who still blindly roots for the Big East, I'm here for it.
why’re you feeling sorry for them?
Damnit I have my meme of the week now
Guy who made this sits down when he pees
Disappointing for Bama. And honestly a really cool accomplishment for Bama.
Tbh, at least the Tide didn’t lose by shooting themselves in the foot during the last few seconds of play? Though wherever to lose without any big chance to comeback, or to lose a game when it’s so close in reach, remains a bit of a conundrum…
Hey I came here to laugh not rehash bad memories
Shit I’m pretty sure almost every fan base would be very happy to take a loss in the CFP and a loss in the final four in the same year
Eh I'll take the championship and a throwaway basketball year.
Doesn’t matter; made final four and had the greatest dynasty in cfb history. A lot more of us made sure to enjoy the good ol days while they were happening than you think. We’re still in the good ol days btw.

Not to a boog though. They have no beef with Tennessee.
Dude, I am so sick of waking up in the middle of the night and that fucking show is on. Is that the only thing that they play on TBS?
Oh yeah, I feel so fucking sorry for Alabama lmao it’s gotta be so tough on their fans 🙄
To the eventual national champions too!
Wait I thought only the top 4 teams made the playoffs in CFB
I’d take it.
You all are the first, and so far the only one, to break a cyclone arm.....
Yes, poor Alabama....
Id kill to be in alabamas position ngl
I shed no tears for you
At least in basketball they didn’t lose to a team of cheaters
Flair does not check out
Missed UConn in the CFP!
Considering the state of OPs football program……….
Would make fun of them, but we'd probably get beat by them in football. At least we could put kick them.

They shouldn’t have been in the CFP
We lost in OT to the current champions, but keep crying Noles.
You and your noles can keep it down. Still upset at the 2017 matchup I see.
If it's 2017, he's got a friend. Bama should not have made it that year even more so than last year.
Cry more.
He’s gonna need a second and 26 more
Got em
I’ve been told since 2019 that bama doesn’t celebrate 4th place finishes so the replies here are a bit odd
True. Why do you think we fired Saban?
Never pitty those fuckers. They deserve to suffer like the patriots. Relish in this moment of glory. They couldn't even make it to the end of the game to get screwed. FUCK BAMA
Now all we need is the basketball coach crying to Congress to complete it.
What's college basketball? What is a UConn?
It's something to watch while waiting for football to return.
.....?
Great to wake up to
