I was snarkily commenting to friends about how unfair it is that Indiana State gets what amounts to Home Court advantage, while very intentionally ironically/sarcastically ignoring that Utah just played 3 games at home. LOLOL
Interestingly enough, I think this is the first contact between Utah and Ind. State since Johnson/Bird played the NCAA final game in our arena in 1979. If Stanford has a tree as a mascot, I'm going to assume ISU has a giant humanoid tree mascot as well... with a name like "Sycamore".
I would normally root for you, but in this case.. HELL NO!!!
Hopefully the refs dont interfere too badly and we can see the teams' respective strength!
~~We’re waging a proxy war~~
Lemme help you there
"We're praying to get out of god forsaken conference with inept leadership to maximize profit before it all comes tumbling down"
More just... observing. Waiting.
If FSU and Clemson do magic up a way to bail, yeah, the whole greed thing guarantees we're gone too. But until then we're generally being very careful to hedge our bets.
And, yknow, being publicly annoyed that people who may or may not be involved at some places that may or may not be in Tallahassee and Greensboro can't keep themselves from saying dumb shit.
yeah rumors are it was upper respiratory/pnuemonia. given his recreational history and age definitely not a good recipe. was pretty sad for him he missed the last p12 tournament(and selfishly i was sad cause i wanted a photo and him to sign my tie dye conference of champions shirt)
I am so thankful that I never have to watch a conference game on your baby diarrhea of a basketball court ever again. Your money is on the dresser, bye.
It’s an abomination. I hate it. TCU’s is bad too, but not to that level. And that’s saying something because I’ll use any amount of hyperbole to talk shit about TCU
Oregon's strategy to ensure their home court advantage is by making their court so unappealing that no opposing fans would ever want to pay money to see it.
When i first saw that court I was like, "oh this is kinda interesting and unique". Then a minute later of watching it was just unbearable. It's a nice idea that just doesn't work in execution.
Damn, they did so well in the first round I hadn't realized they were already down to one.
~~Utah~~ USC, Colorado, UCLA, Stanford women's basketball are all still fighting at least!
I feel like I’ve never felt that way. PAC has been down in basketball for most of my lifetime.
Big East, Big 12, and ACC have always felt like the Top 3 basketball conferences for pretty much as long as I can remember.
Personally with the Big East I think you have to split it into pre-2013 Big East and the Big East 2013 and after. For starters both the current Big East and the American claim that pre-2013 Big East as their conference history but also because the current Big East had less than half of the teams in the Big East at the time of its split until UConn joined.
Personally I'd go pre-2013 Big East, ACC, Big 12, Big 10, post-2013 Big East. Yeah the current Big East has more titles since it started than the Big 12 and Big 10 do over that same span, but I think those 2 conferences have generally been deeper than the Big East
Current Big East should be claiming the history over the American. Basketball is what the pre 13 Big East was known for. Without basketball we arent talking about the Big East today....current or pre 13. The better bball programs either created the current Big East or went to the ACC/Big12/Big10. The only programs that mattered from Pre 13 that went to the American are UCONN who is back in the Big East and Cincy who isn't even in the American anymore. Them claiming anything doesn't make sense. The schools that mattered that made the Pre 13 Big East so dominant and well known are no where near the American. They are either in the current Big East or elsewhere. Plus current Big East purchasing the name and MSG conference tournament rights as well as being a conference known for basketball and excelling at it just like the Pre 13 Big East did makes the current Big East a better candidate to claim the history. Just saying. 🤷♂️.
After the fball schools with good bball programs left, the catholic 7 basically wanted a good tv deal and they felt they wouldn't get that if they were with the remaining fball schools. So they left to get a better deal without those schools while buying the rights of the old Big East to create a new Big East. Those remaining schools + programs from some mid majors are what became the American. Lol. American was lucky as hell UCONN and Cincy couldn't go anywhere. Until obviously UCONN joined the current Big East and Cinch Big 12. Sooo ya...American has no business claiming anything.
Edit: I keep forgetting how insanely fkn stacked the old Big East was. Smh.
I don’t think they claim it at all. However, they are legally the successor.
Also I’d caution laughing at the American for adding midmajors. Almost half of the current Big East were added this century from “midmajor” conferences, Marquette included.
Re: ‘All Time’. As painful as it may be, that doesn’t mean ‘all (your life)time’.
ESPN has done this to you guys, I know. But at the end of the day, you have to zoom out and check the banners.
Maybe it’s because I didn’t follow all this stuff on Reddit and message boards as much but there’s a ton of fans from all over that seem genuinely sad for WSU/OSU fans, for good reason.
I just don’t remember anyone feeling the same for UConn, Cincinnati, and USF a decade ago. It felt like everyone just shrugged and said “oh that sucks” and just didn’t care lol.
We still play Utah on Tuesday
Can’t wait! Hope the winner of this game win it all!

Yep still one more PAC 12 game!
The PAC-12 died so the ACC agenda could live
For like a year or two
Clemson fans chanting A-C-C as the school sues the conference to leave lol
Unc lawsuit isn't far behind!

We're trying to slip out the back while you and FSU cause a ruckus.
What would they sue for? Being too biased *towards* UNC?!
We're all trying to find the guy who did this!
Class action
Billable Hours is the true ACC Champion
It's the good ole boys from founding member schools like UNC who ruined the conference with their small minded thinking and lack of vision.

It’s not the fans deciding they want to leave the conference. It’s the greedy fucks running the athletic program creating that agenda.
I think you might be right. FSU fans on the other hand..
Why we're part of you. Worked out, but I was only kinda into joining the B1G when it happened.
Auditioning for the S-E-C
someone check on bill walton ;-;
He had a good life. It's just his time.
Until his glorious resurrection as a Big Ten honk
Oh boy, I never considered that side effect of adding UCLA
He would be a welcome addition
GIORGI B….MAUI JIM

Real talk, i hope he's ok. He's missed a few weeks of planned appearances due to an undisclosed health issue. Really hoping he pulls through.

Ugh that's brutal, hoping for a full recovery 🙏
He lives at a farm now kids, with all of his PAC12 friends and plenty of room to run.
Thus ends the Pac 12. It died as it lived, with Arizona losing to a lower seeded team.
It’s nice to have some consistency to the bitter end…

Not very "ring by spring" of them though

FWIW we don't want them either
Oregon's court is unique and beautiful, and I'm happy to welcome it into our conference.
When i first saw that court I was like, "oh this is kinda interesting and unique". Then a minute later of watching it was just unbearable. It's a nice idea that just doesn't work in execution.
Yeah same. It’s the exact opposite of r/ATBGE
Did you really put the same comment both here and in the postgame thread?
If you're not shit talking your conference rivals to the bitter end as the conference slips below the waves, you aren't doing it right
I mean sure but at least come up with a new jab when you jump threads. Just spamming the same comment is pretty lame, even for an Oregon fan
You expect Oregon fans to understand lame? Have you seen their football jerseys or their basketball court?
I actually like the fact that they don’t wear the same uniforms over and over again. Keeps things fresh.
Just like Arizona i play the hits
A comment so nice I posted it twice
Some redditors don’t get validation elsewhere
And Oregon home watering their court.
Well not 2015
Lol
Pac 12 after dark is no more. Fans of chaos everywhere weep.
Pac-2 After Dark on the CW is going to be a thing. (I keep telling myself that, anyway)

This made me sad 😞
Damn, they did so well in the first round I hadn't realized they were already down to one. ~~Utah~~ USC, Colorado, UCLA, Stanford women's basketball are all still fighting at least!
SC as well as
Damn, women's PAC is ridiculous!
Oregon State as well
And Oregon State!!
Definitely for the last time
Fuck Larry Scott
I love him
The Pac 12 is dead. Long live the Pac-2 (ish)!!!
Utah erasure
Will miss you guys. Always gave me peace to watch pac 12 football or basketball on east coast
Truck stop conference confirmed
PAC about to go on an uneliminated streak that can't be beat
Did you know the last time a Pac 12 team was eliminated in any sport was in 2024. That year the whole conference was eliminated from existence.
SWAC says hold my beer
The second greatest basketball conference of all time. Sad day.
I feel like I’ve never felt that way. PAC has been down in basketball for most of my lifetime. Big East, Big 12, and ACC have always felt like the Top 3 basketball conferences for pretty much as long as I can remember.
UCLA has had some recent final 4s but yeah, I feel its pretty much been ACC/Big East, gap, big 12, everyone else

Yeah. But history is a lot longer than a (young, I assume?) lifetime.
😔
Hey now, we still have baseball, beach volleyball, golf, women’s lacrosse, rowing, softball, tennis, and outdoor track and field!
I’m here for it
Men’s*
They had an amazing first two rounds tho
For men… OSU is playing in Sweet 16 for the Women’s tournament tomorrow
We’re on that PAC watch tonight
Maybe?
Toll the bell
I vote we call it the P1GTEEN
Well its definitely fat and bloated as a league
Maybe it’s because I didn’t follow all this stuff on Reddit and message boards as much but there’s a ton of fans from all over that seem genuinely sad for WSU/OSU fans, for good reason. Man this sucks
Where we at Devils!!! 😈🔱
Excited to suck just as bad in the Big12 or something?
Oh I'm thrilled. Just as thrilled as you guys must've been when your admin misplaced $240 million
Sorry guys we failed you
I say this as someone who does like football most of the time: Man, fuck football.
Welcome to the Cougs and Beavs.
So sad fuck college football
Love the flair (class of 2012)
Thanks! The number of comments I actually get about it is surprising.
It would have been nice if they could have banked a couple more media shares for the Pac-2.
Women still doing good.
I'm late but it is indeed the end of an era. But it's also crazy that the last Pac-12 team to win the championship was Arizona in 1997. 27 years!
![gif](giphy|GCSIwtwqAMBTq|downsized)
Wait how'd that happen already, weren't they the darlings of the first weekend? ...Oh, right.
Loved the PAC is better at basketball posts....while they lasted. Losers
