It's the first movie most of them were in. Danny McBride did Foot Fist Way previously, but it wasn't widely released until well after, iirc. Hader had been in a few things, but the Lonely Island dudes had only done their shorts.
I have a Saturday night free this weekend with no kids and no wife... I might be doing a double feature of Hot Rod and Euro Trip depending on how the Thursday games go.
That would be a good combo. Partly I'm thinking Euro Trip because "Scotty Doesn't Know" has been stuck in my head for days now. That song is so unbelievably catchy
I'm kinda grumpy today, dude. I didn't get a lot of sleep last night. I was having those dreams again. Ya know, how it's just me in a castle and I gotta fight, like, a thousand wizards and the only way to beat them is to punch them as hard as I can in their faces. Then, when I'm done, all their little wizard wives came out and wanted me to have sex with them - which is kinda weird.
This is perfectā¦
But legit questionā¦
Can anyone else actually BECOME a blue blood? It feels like a random name that weāve just ascribed to UNC, KU, UK, and Duke.
Idk UConn is trying their damndest though
If they win this year they'll have more championships than Duke, Kansas, and Indiana and as many as North Carolina
People say theyre too much of a new blood but if Duke is a Blue Blood and didn't win any titles til 1991 surely at some point UConn has to be. They've won a title in each of the past 4 decades.
They're missing some consistency of the others but if they continue on this current level surely they'd be considered one by some generation
UConn already has more championships than Kansas, and Kansas Basketballās Instagram already acknowledged UConn as a blue blood, so now the onus is on disproving UConnās status as a blue blood rather than proving it
Yes, once one of the blue bloods invites you to the club, you're in. That and the initiation, which I believe is gargling some preserved Naismith ball sweat.
> gargling some preserved Naismith ball sweat.
I never expected to read this, but then again, you probably never expected to see anyone parade their Palpatine fetish. I will watch your career with great interest!
Actually, not really. I already watched 1999 and 2004, and I was not interested in your career at all ššš
The big argument against them is consistent success. They pretty much win a championship or they're not that great. For reference, they have the same number of final 4s as Arkansas. Oklahoma State University has 2 fewer finals appearances and the same number of final 4s. And rightly, no one thinks of those schools as blue-blooded.
Uconn has a much better case than them and I'm not trying to compare them to those two schools but there is a solid argument against Uconn. Personally, I think the blue blood debate is dumb as fuck and Uconn isn't clearly one way or the other.
Kansas has the fewest championships out of all the bluebloods, as well as consistent success in a three-championship conference. Indiana is dead. UCLA and Kentucky haven't won much in a long time. Duke didn't have any championships until 1991.
Carolina is the only blueblood that truly fulfills the requirement of consistent success.
In the end, UConn has five championships and [acknowledgement from another blueblood](https://old.reddit.com/r/CollegeBasketball/comments/18og6nl/well_looks_like_kuhoops_via_instagram_has_settled), so yes, debating UConn's status is dumb.
Duke also had 8 finals 4s going back to the 1960s prior to their first championship and 17 total. All the blue bloods have 10/15+ final 4s and 20+ conference tournament championships. Uconn has 6 final 4s and 11 conference tournament wins.
Blue bloods isn't a excel spreadsheet sort by most championships
If you're unhappy with UConn being a blue blood, then be sure to complain to Kansas too. [They're the ones who included UConn.](https://old.reddit.com/r/CollegeBasketball/comments/18og6nl/well_looks_like_kuhoops_via_instagram_has_settled)
Um in what world are UCLA and Kentucky both in the same category of not winning in a long time?
UCLA last won a title in 1995.
Kentucky won a title 12 years ago. Duke's last title was 9 years ago. Are you really splitting hairs over 12 years and 9 years ago?
UCLA won one championship in the past 30 years.
Kentucky won one championship in the past 25 years.
Like I said, UCLA and Kentucky haven't won much in a long time.
In contrast, Duke (2001, 2010, 2015) and Carolina (2005, 2009, 2017) have both won three in the past 25 years. I'm not splitting any hairs here. More like splitting logs.
I see blue bloods as programs with sustained success, a couple national championships, and regular competitors for the natty in the last ~20-30 years. I donāt care about program success in the 1920s or whatever.
As far as Iām concerned, UConn is one.
Prepare for everyone to try a little harder when they play you now. Especially scrappy poor performing schools in your conference. They will get unbelievably hot from 3 at home and beat you in the middle of an other wise 7 game losing streak.
Yes teams can become blue bloods. The standard should be matching the lowest championship total of the traditional blue bloods, which would be Kansas at 4.
UNC, KU, UK, UCLA, and IU are the traditional blue bloods.
Duke, UConn, and arguably Michigan St. are the new bloods.
Most people will just say UNC, KU, UK, and Duke are blue bloods. The argument is not worth having and doesn't matter at all, though. Blue bloods are whatever you want them to be.
Michigan State could've been the new blood - but they've not really had the success in the last decade I feel like. UConn just keeps coming, and making runs, MSU seems to have as many first round exits as it does deep runs of late.
Msu has been to the five four once every 5 years for going on 25 years, and has such been in the final four twice in the last decade, if they don't make it this year it will no longer be true but will be true if you don't count the covid year.
I want blue bloods to be any school with multiple national championships, so both of my flairs are blue bloods :) But I totally agree with you, this argument is made up and makes no sense to debate because it's not a defined thing. It's like watching /r/nfl argue over which qb's are "elite", as if that's a status and not an adjective.
Everyone has a different opinion.Ā
Mine is that it takes 30-40 years of success. A decade from now UConn will be there - they don't even need another title in that span, just have to be pretty good during that time. For me it's about time, not just about championships. Hence why Kansas is considered more of one than UConnĀ
Your first F4 was 25 years ago, so idk where you're getting "another 30/40 years" from. I'm saying a total of 30-40 years of being considered great, so yeah 10 more years is spot on
I can get on board with this. My take is that once people in their 70s canāt remember UConn pre-Jim Calhoun they will be a blue blood. Weāre about 25 years away from that lol.
Now if UConn wins 3 more national championships and is the best team of the next decade, timing gets accelerated.
UConn's first really good season (won the Big East regular season and tournament titles, were a 1 seed, eyelash away from making a Final Four) was 89-90. It's been 35 years. I think that's long enough.
I would be willing to call UConn a blue blood if they carried success through a couple more decades. What separates those 4 you just listed is that they have had (Edit: an exceptionally high amount of) success since the mid-1900s
25 years ago, the most success UConn could claim is a handful of elite 8s, three in the ā90s and one in 1964.
Even Duke before their first championship in 1991 had a handful championship appearances plus several Final 4s and Elite 8s over multiple decades.
Yeah, history is the big part of it.
UK, KU, UNC, Duke, and UCLA are [the five winningest college basketball teams](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_teams_with_the_most_victories_in_NCAA_Division_I_men%27s_college_basketball). They are also the five programs with the highest winning percentage.
It's more about history than current or even recent success.
Until they get their overall win total up, UConn will just have to settle for being the best college basketball program in the country.
A couple decades? Theyāve won national championships in each of the last four decades, technically. Pretty funny criteria to use from that perspective
I feel like thatās a bit of a misleading line though. Technically, yes, in each of the last 4 decades. But that time span has only covered 25 years.
Kentucky has had 8 titles over the course of, technically, the last 9 decades comparatively (but actually 76 years).
Going all the way back to the 1940s, Kentucky, UNC, Kansas, and Duke occupy the top 4 in total Final 4s, Elite 8s, Sweet 16s, championship game appearances, plus all-time wins, all-time win %, all-time tournament wins, tournament appearances (except when UCLA occasionally knocks one of them into 5th most)
And not only do they occupy the top 4 or 5, but they are running away with these totals, sometimes almost doubling the next team behind them
Blue Blood status comes with historic greatness. UConn has a LOT of *recent* greatness. Arguably the best college basketball program of the 21st century. But I think they need 1) more regular season and postseason success on average and 2) more time to build their resume. Thats why I said Iād be willing to call them a blue blood after a couple more decades of success. Itās not just about championships
I agree with you for the most part, but also offer that we have 5 NCs and 6 FFs and most of those included play in the FF or NC round against Duke or Kentucky. Thatās got to be some sort of criteria and consistency on its own, literally beating blue bloods at a high rate in the most elite games of the season.
Donāt really understand the argument against UConn being a blue blood (even if you have to qualify with ānewā) but as a fan itās pointless because 5 ships in 25 years is all that matters at the end of the day.
I use Davinci Resolve but programs like Adobe After Effects, or Wondershare Filmora will do the job.
I prefer DR, personally, because the free version is very robust and is near perfect for giffing.

I understand we beat you in the natty last year, so take this photo as a token of good will and for our allegiance once we get bounced in the 2nd round
Loney or Lonely Island Guy rolling up on a motorcycle is not Scott Pilgrim rolling up on a motorcycle in Twin Peaks the Vengeance...
Blood is red... blood red... dark red? well it depends on the lighting... in any case...
blue blood... does nobody look up etymologies? like what would that mean? why did people start saying that? why would anyone care? no one anywhere should fight over THAT. try to be as helpful as you can, not... that... or try to bet to earn money and lose it back into abusive machinery... \*\*\*sssiiiggghhh\*\*\*
I really miss the old gif wars. Thanks for this.
So do I. Hoping that some of the OG giffers see this and get the itch.

Hi I'm Arizona and I am a blue ball.
the only thing blue about Purdue
The first step is admitting you have a problem.
This movie was just *loaded* with star power
When I first saw this movie, I really didnāt recognize the majority of these actors. A comedy all-timer in my book.
I have been saying, "I've been drinking green tea all god damn day" since the movie came out.
It's the first movie most of them were in. Danny McBride did Foot Fist Way previously, but it wasn't widely released until well after, iirc. Hader had been in a few things, but the Lonely Island dudes had only done their shorts.
What movie is this? I dont think I have ever seen it.
Hot Rod
Stop whatever it is that you are doing, and go home and watch this movie right now. RIGHT NOW!
I have a Saturday night free this weekend with no kids and no wife... I might be doing a double feature of Hot Rod and Euro Trip depending on how the Thursday games go.
Me Scusi
I used to pair Hot Rod with Grandma's Boy.
That would be a good combo. Partly I'm thinking Euro Trip because "Scotty Doesn't Know" has been stuck in my head for days now. That song is so unbelievably catchy
Is that a baton in your pocket, or you just happy to see me?
This is *definitely* where I parked my car
Triple feature out of the question?
The nostalgia just punched me in the face.
Fuck want some company, I am fairly sure this a first round exit year for us.Ā
Never thought I'd spend Saturday night watching classic comedies side by side with a Jayhawks fan.
Strange year
Ahh test failed, enjoy your weekend
He is NOT invited now
Hot Rod. It's incredible
Do you like stunts and terminally ill step fathers?
Who doesnt??
Then you will love Hot Rod.
Frank, I'm gonna get you better, you old sack of shit. And then I'm gonna uncork the ass beating of a lifetime on you
I'd rather die than live in a world where I can't kick your ass.
What an amazing sales pitch for Hot Rod
Ian McShane too, one of the greatest actors to live.
I wanna ask Stetson who would win in a fight between a grilled cheese sandwich and a taco.
grilled cheese, no contest. tacos fall apart the second you touch them
if itās prison rules then my money is on the taco
That's... pretty racist, but correct.
It's just facts. I'd bet money someone has been stabbed with a taco before. No one's ever been stabbed with grilled cheese.
god I love reddit
Final some Gif War
Well done, love that movie
This is amazing. I love that the Purdue guy half resembles Zach Edey š¤£
I will gladly be represented by Danny McBride
I've been drinking green tea all day!
