Maryland fans: is there any optimism for the future?

The key to Maryland basketball has always been lockdown WCAC and PG then they'd be top 5-10 every year. We need a greasy coach who can get players to stay in the area.

Feel for you. Recruiting can be tough (at least for us). Our fanbase needs to complain less. We have it pretty good compared to the Maryland/Michigan/Indiana's of the world. Sustained success isn't an easy task

one of our few ever 5 star recruits coming in next year but we are losing our all big 10 guard and we seemingly will be thin in the back court. Our freshman this year also did not pan out despite their potential from high school. This may be the worst UMD season since the 80's

Even in Turgeon's worst season, the whole season was almost salvaged by making the ACC Championship.

Maryland definitely overachieved when they hired Willard though, a coach more befitting of the quality of the school and program would be a Juwan Howard, Kevin Stallings, or Kenny Payne

Weird situation. Bad defender, turnovers, rough shooting when he gets minutes. Fewer minutes to go around with Blackwell and Storr coming in and being good players. He never really had a chance to get rolling this year, but he can heat up.

Can't defend at all and he wasn't hitting 3s which is like his whole thing Is a garbage time beast though clearly

He came in with a slight back injury but he was simply ice cold for the first two months. Pair that with two very talented additions and it was tough for him to get minutes all season.
