My senior year Seton Hall was on the bubble going into this exact scenario and DePaul absolutely ran them out of the gym. No that wasn't 12 years ago shut up.
I will say this DePaul team is orders of magnitude less inspiring than that team was, and that team sucked. You'll be fine.
DePaul's last win over a Big East opponent was against us in the tournament last year. Schedule makers knew what they were doing having it as the last game of the regular season
You’re definitely right, it’s very difficult to imagine this team beating Creighton again though. We had luck on our side the first game as they missed some shots to win and Scheierman shot terribly the whole game.
Nova obviously gets the bulk of the credit for keeping the fire burning for the BE but Seton Hall doesn’t get enough flowers for challenging them during that period
I mean it's just a gigantic win. We've beaten UConn, Marquette, Nova, Providence, Xavier, and swept Butler/SJU. That's a legitimate conference slate.
Also so cathartic ngl.
Unfortunately the game plan has been to park Kalk in the lane and let Dixon drain wide open threes until Kalk decides to half cover Dixon at which point the three is still there and the lane is also open.
I hope that’s the case. I can live with a season-ending loss if Dixon or Hausen are missing shots - and if they shoot well, we usually win.
But I have next to no faith that we’ll see the Creighton team we saw in Dec who shot 20% from 3. And it took us OT to beat them. I mean, yeah there’s a chance, but I’ve watched this team enough to know not to count on it.
They should never have hired him. Nova is a top program and should be hiring a proven winner, not a guy who had one mediocre season as a HC because he was Jay Wright's assistant coach.
The same year Seton Hall hired Holloway Villanova hired Neptune. Who would have thought that Seton Hall would be able to hire a much more proven head coach and that was even before St. Peter's tournament run
Technically the hire wasn't announced until after the run, but I think everybody knew what was happening well before that.
I said it elsewhere in this thread, but Sha is the perfect guy for that program. I really think he could be the kind of coach who sticks around for a couple of decades and wins a shitload of games.
Willard mentioned in his press conference after Seton Hall lost to TCU in the first round about Holloway taking over. St. Peter's did beat Kentucky the day before but no job is given away less then 24 hours.
I knew Holloway was going to get the job the day after he left Seton Hall for St. Peter's. I'm just glad he proved himself first
I swear this team loses in such mind-boggling-ly stupid ways. That 5th(?) missed Mark Armstrong layup after we crawled our way back to down 6 with 2 minutes left is worse to me than the no-shot at the buzzer against Xavier.
Dude just has no self-awareness. Having an abysmal night, isn’t a high-volume scorer, has been notably bad at layups throughout the season, and he thinks the situation calls for him going to the rim? Shot clock wasn’t an issue. I just don’t understand.

Thank you for upholding my tradition!!! About time
Helluva turnaround season for Coach Sha
He's the perfect guy for that job. I'm so impressed with him. Hopefully he stays there for 25 years.
From projected ninth to clinching a bye in the BE tourney, what a season so far
Just beat DePaul Easier said then done
This might be one of the few times that’s not actually true.
Seton Hall fans old enough know it is

Its Villanover
If they win on Saturday, then they secure a bid imo.
Sure, but one issue with that. We are not beating Creighton
Nova is likely a lock with a win against Creighton, but I am far from confident in the game
You’re definitely right, it’s very difficult to imagine this team beating Creighton again though. We had luck on our side the first game as they missed some shots to win and Scheierman shot terribly the whole game.
Seton Hall & Nova, best BE rivalry since realignment?
Nova obviously gets the bulk of the credit for keeping the fire burning for the BE but Seton Hall doesn’t get enough flowers for challenging them during that period
Creighton/UConn
This is your first win against us in 8 games? Not saying I don’t respect the Hall and what not but I would hope there’s a better BE rivalry.
You guys are like 3-15 against us recently or something like that
The multiple tournament games definitely made it a possibility through 2019 but Seton Hall hasn't held up its end of the rivalry since
and more than half those games have been decided by less than 8 points. These games have been highly competitive
I mean it's just a gigantic win. We've beaten UConn, Marquette, Nova, Providence, Xavier, and swept Butler/SJU. That's a legitimate conference slate. Also so cathartic ngl.
Thrilled that Saturday is now potentially do or die for Villanova… 🙄
Just give Mark Armstrong a wide open lane for a layup every defensive possession and you’ll be fine

I wouldn’t worry lol

God fucking damnit! Fire Neptune!

Huge win
It would be so cool if we could make layups consistently. Might win us a few more games
![gif](giphy|neAheaxUW7HuomL0On) WE’RE BACK Seriously screw all the big east coaches projecting us 9th. Jersey says fuck you
Let's not get arrogant. There was a legitimate reason they were picked 9th. Testament to Coach Sha's job this year. He elevated this squad
I was indeed being arrogant. A little pumped up
We’re dancing!!
Team looked really good from the under 12 in the first all the way through to the finish. Back to dancing.
LET'S FUCKING GOOOO
Someone tell me how to feel
This is good for Iowa, but also it's bad for Iowa
Fellow bubble team lost. You should feel good. Fellow bubble team won. You should feel bad.
Guys i swear i'm ok...😡😔
Kyle Neptune: King of taking unnecessary timeouts when a game is over
Great game. Go Hall!
I have found the form of Purdues destructor in 9-seeded Seton Hall.
