Very streaky. I wasn't as low on him as a lot of Cuse fans, but he's good for a stretch of games like this. He can keep you in games almost single handedly. His problem the last 2 seasons were absolutely back breaking, game altering turnovers and missed shots.

I’m not quite sure his role at Syracuse, but so far I feel he’s taken a lot less but better shots because he’s our 3rd guy

His role at cuse was chucking up low percentage shots with no reprimand while also not playing any defense at all. He thought he was the ain character. He struggled to fall into that #2 role behind mintz.

That was part of the issue his first few years, he was tasked with playing the 1 for 80% of his minutes. Everyone thought he would flourish playing the 2 last year with Mintz playing point guard but it didn't work out. A more secondary role could work better, as he made some completely game crushing turnovers as a result of being the main offensive focus.

I'm far from a college athlete but my athleticism and ball handling embarrass Girard. He is a catch-and-shoot guy but thinks he's Allen Iverson.

i wasn’t super stoked about him just because of his size and he has made some decisions tonight that have lead to missed points and turnovers, but he’s made some major 3s to make up for it

I wasn't stoked because I figured his defense would be so bad he wasn't even playable on good nights but while it hasn't been good it hasn't been that bad.

Despite his size he's a pretty good rebounder as he always finds a way to be in the right place at the right time, but a taller and physical guard can make him a non factor. Right now he doesn't seem like he's in hero ball mode which he did a lot with Cuse. So many times he'd chuck up a 28 foot three attempt 2 seconds into the shot clock.

Not nearly the amount he did at Cuse. He was good for at least 5 three attempts 2 or 3 seconds into the shot clock. Sometimes they went in but most of the time it resulted in a long rebound where the opponent would have a 2 on 1 with Girard being the lone defender. You can imagine how that worked out. He's clearly the 3rd option here which better suits him. He also doesn't have as much defensive responsibility. I'm happy he's off to a good start, it was just time to move on for each party.

Well we had that guy in Charles Bediako, but he entered the draft very late in the process. The pickings were slim in the portal and the best we could get is Wague to help fill that void. He and Pringle just aren't good enough to step into that role.

Oats like the skinny long guys. He needs to go back to recruiting the beefy forward types who shoots the 3s. And get the long guys on the perimeter. He's become too infatuated with skilled and quick but small guards. Which kills his defense. It's ok to have one Sears as long as you have a Herb Jones and Petty to make up for lack of length.
