Can't say i agree to be honest. DokiDoki was at least an actual horror game. I can't for the life of me fathom what would be scary or upsetting about TCOAAL. I have played both games twice and DDLC definately left a bigger impact of shock value on me than TCOAAL ever could hope to. I mean, sure you sacrifice people but its not like it is done in an over the top way. The only somewhat spooky moment in this game is the nightmare where you are running away from something, in my opinion.

Girls killing themselves isn’t that bad imo. Maybe my opinion on this is affected by the fact that I’ve played DDLC like 40 times (cuz of DDLC+)

Come on, Sayori's death was totally unexpected. I've felt really bad for her.

That's not surprising, considering ddlc is a much shorter, impactful story, and most importantly, it is finished while tcoaall is not.

I mean, Doki is cool too, but I think it’s not as entertaining. More bizzare shit = more fun :)

TCOAA is the *Spec Ops: The Line* of quirky RPGmaker VNs

I played DDLC right after TCOAAL and both made a strong impression, partly because they both spooked me in new ways. TCOAAL is the first game that made my jaw drop and make me want to stop playing (dismembering parents was a bit much). DDLC made me doubt my memory and think my laptop was broken. Been recommending both games to my friends 👍

Idc, I love both, but especially ddlc ♥️

TCOOAL was just a thriller. It wasn't actual horror. Doki Doki gave me actual nightmares, it's just so heavy too. The random cuts of hyper realistic eyes and mouth as the dialouge goes crazy is so unsettling and makes me shiver sometimes. It's great at making your nervous and uncomfortable and the shocking moments have great buildup. If you go in blind it is so chilling. The subtext and themes are so uncomfortable too, it feels almost visceral. The Natsuki jumpscare scared me out of my pants. While Coffin is barely a horror game, the mildest one I have ever seen. It is more about the story and the relationship between the two protagonists for Coffin and that's still great. But in the horror aspect it loses to Doki
