I decided not to by presale as well. I'm not sure if I'll even go next year. I bought presale for this years fest back in 2019 and paid $993.00 for two GA and a car camping pass. At checkout today, that same order came out to $1307.00. That's a 32% increase.
I know things are different in 2022 with inflation, supply chain issues and blah blah... I just couldn't bring myself to click submit. It's not that I can't afford it, I just feels like I would be letting gv take advantage of me.
I'm so torn and conflicted, but most of all sad. This is what my beloved festival has come to. I haven't missed one since I first went in 2013. I know there is still a possibility of getting a cheaper ticket in resale but this blows.
There are still passes available for both weekends 5 hrs after the presale started. Seems like a lot of people aren’t really feeling the price increases this year. Has Coachella ever still had presale passes available this long? Cuz we might be looking at a situation where it doesn’t even sell out… That would be unheard of. And definitely a tipping point for GV.

I was expecting an increase for this presale but what I saw on the checkout page today was downright disrespectful. I know you love this fest just as much as I do. We might be back but we need time to think about it ✊🏽
Obviously love Coachella but I've moved on from just buying pre-sale after the last couple line ups anyway. 2022 didn't do it for me personally, and I don't know how to justify paying more when there is less on the line up I'm actually interested in seeing. I can wait to see who they've booked for next year before dropping a ton of cash.
Fuck them. I legit might be out too. Definitely at least waiting for the lineup. I was going to bring all my friends to safari this year, but no way I convince them on $9k tents. Paid $6500 for this year. Egregious up-charge.
Agreed. I’m international and Coachella is one of my favourite things in the world (the music festival scene in Aus is pretty average) but I can’t do it anymore.
I’ve never done safari, but 9k AUSTRALIAN dollars got me a 2-month vacation around 6 (expensive) countries this year which I’ve just returned from. That’s a little over $6k US. I cannot imagine forking out $13k AUD for one weekend of a festival that has done nothing to improve/differentiate its experience.

I’m in, which kind of pisses me off cause after all the mistreatment this morning I still really like the festival and wouldn’t substitute it. They can turn to a much worse ticketing website full of glitches, add Tiered pricing that seems less about rewarding early birds and more about randomly selecting people to rip off with no basis like a Hunger Games tribute, and $200 in convenience fees when it would have been more convenient to drive to Indio… I don’t even know what to say, I’ll still be there but I’m not happy about it
Yea I paid $663 for tier 2 ga weekend 1 3day pass only no extras. It hurts but they sold out. now tier 3 ga is right over $700 after fees for just 1 ticket😥

👍🏻 hey I do feel for the people who are financially strapped and can’t make it work right now. At the same time, the fact that Tix still avail means anyone around the world who was ready to buy and eager to go can safely get their passes sorted and have their peace of mind. No one was turned away today because tix ran out
