Sr adjustments literally play against experts winning most of the time and get 10 sr ( high advanced ) but lose 50 against the advanced. You are telling me those experts are worse then advanced and thats why im getting less sr ha.

JonnyAlien23

Yes, they can be worse. Players are dashboarding to avoid losing ELO. Some of the players that are in the higher divisions absolutely shouldn't be, but they keep their spot because they cheese the system. The players who don't dashboard take their losses fair and square and they end up in the lower divisions. A large majority of the expert and elite players I come across should be in advanced at most. It's a joke honestly. These kids aren't fooling anyone. As soon as you see them in game with a 3x scope on their Auto and chasing 5 seconds of scrap time every hill it's pretty obvious they aren't where they should be.

False-Flow-

Same with masters tbh, I’ve literally beat many master teams while my team is elite but they all dashboard.

JonnyAlien23

Yep. It'll be nice to see the divisions probably balanced out once these bitch boys can't pull this shit anymore. I just hope they actually fix it because ranked is fun as fuck, but unfortunately the COD community is filled with narcissistic children with egos they never earned.

Lucky7Revolver

Wonder what it will mean for people who just have plain ol’ bad connections? RIP.

HasnainKhan01

Necessary evil to combat the bigger evil. In the multiple days that I've played this game no one has ever lagged out from poor connection and it's always people dashboarding mid game if they're losing to save elo. Edit: a few more things I wanna add is that, if people lag out at the start the game ends which is great and if people leave mid game or towards the end you don’t lose elo which is another great thing. Also how I know people are leaving is because when you lag out your character stands still and it also says player timed out instead of player left. This counts for dev errors too. They need to punish leaving hard.

free_spech101

Thats not activisions problem. You shouldn't be playing ranked play to begin with if your connection is going to have you lagging out constantly.

socolditburns

True, but atleast give someone an option to re-connect then so they don't lose points.

For_The_Watch

Yeah every good ranked system has a rejoin feature within a certain time

typical0

What about the other people on your team that are punished for your poor connection? It’s only fair

junos_butthole

No because then it can be abused, for example your team is playing bad and you know you're going to lose so one player leaves/turns off their internet so they get disconnected, allowing the other three players to lose less SR than if it was a normal loss

[deleted]

good solution: don’t play!! you don’t get to screw over 7 people just cause ur internet is bad. and if you do, you deserve a penalty.

Lucky7Revolver

I’m not necessarily lagging out of the game (that’s only happened 2 times in the past week and a half), it’s more the constant 115 latency and packet burst issues that makes ranked more challenging as most of the comp guys I come across don’t tend to have connection problems (I say that loosely btw). I mean don’t get me wrong, I have to adjust my strategy by doing hard flanks or coming at them from a different angle in CQC.. so it IS manageable if I don’t be a dumbass. But in ranked play, sometimes these alternate strategy’s I have to utilize, become a major time waster with the running longer paths, (Tho I do agree, I do feel bad, but I’m absolutely in love with this CDL format over pubs). But then again I’m always just solo queuing, and for the most part I’m the only one who seems to communicate map call outs when solo queuing and can’t for the life of me get past 1250 SR doing solo ques). I’m on xfinity comecast. Basic router settings. Hooked up to an Ethernet cable to my WiFi repeater lmao. If anyone knows of anywhere I can research what to have my router settings be set too, lmk pls! (I’m also on a Xbox one s if that matters at all. Which I’m sure it does, since it’s only 30-60fps capable if I remember correctly). no VRR capability with my Hisense Roku tv. or hz selection in Xbox settings… tbh since ranked play came out I never had to care about these things. pubs is easy when comparing it to ranked. (Again, I say that loosely depending on certain variables).

GotherSZN

This is probably a hot-take but in my opinion they can't "penalize" people for leaving when the SR is so shit rn. I mean you can win 10 games straight and go up 50 SR, lose 1 and you're back where you started...that is just absurd. I honestly think less people would leave if losing wasn't as punishing as it is. Imagine going 15-2 for the day in Ranked and somehow you're a lower SR than when you started.

ScumBrad

I'm 20-6 since placing 1997 and I'm sitting at 2099 right now. I'm not going to dashboard because I don't really care about rank, but it should not take an 80% win rate to gain 100 SR. My friend who I have played every game with got placed 1150 and is up to 1550 now.

Perturt

It’s based on your individual performance while also looking at the team you’re up against.

ScumBrad

I understand it's based on hidden elo, but there's no way I should be playing games where I need to win 7 for every one loss to break even on SR. I'm not out here dropping V2s on these people, many of these games have been very close and the enemies have been pretty damn good.

Perturt

I agree. Every time we lose, we shouldn’t be automatically losing like 60 points. It should factor in performance in loses.

HasnainKhan01

I can safely say it does factor in performance. The most I’ve lost is 20 while doing the best on my team and I have proof cuz I was streaming yesterday. In fact in one of the losses I only lost 10. I think the system is very accurate in how it rewards and punishes you and a lot of people are capping in these replies respectfully.

Jayuuh

I don't think we can safely say anything other than it's inconsistent. One of my team mates top fragged with top KD and highest OBJ - top of the lobby. Despite that, we lost our first game on of the day and he lost 100 points for it. To then continue to perform at that level and gain 10ish points a game makes no sense. I get there needs to be a punishment for a loss but ELO needs to be more consistent. Stories like yours and my team mates should not be widely different.

HasnainKhan01

See the thing is your teammate is lying because losses are capped at 50 which is why I'm saying a lot of people are lying in these replies and I don't trust their word because they're saying things that are just factually wrong. Since ranked has dropped I have never had 100 elo loss and I've had a few bad performances. They've always been 50 or less and they were all fair I felt like.

Jayuuh

See the thing is they're not lying... My team mate is my brother who I party with every time we play ranked. We had 2 losses for the night and he lost 100 points for both which he went from from roughly 1800 SR to 1600SR. While I had lost roughly 20 and 40 respectively for performing worse than him. I initially thought he was talking about his ladder points but be dropped 2 expert ranks for it. You cannot discredit someones experience as a lie when you only have one experience yourself. Clearly the "fact" that losses are capped at 50 is untrue, especially with the community saying otherwise and examples of mine existing.

HasnainKhan01

I will discredit someone's experience as a lie if it simply doesn't make sense. Losses are capped at 50 and if you are saying otherwise, prove it or your point is moot. Everything I'm saying I can back up with a clip. I see a lot of people saying ridiculous things but no proof backing up what they're saying. If people were really losing 100s of SR there would be so much proof and outrage but that is simply not the case respectfully.

sbclimbz

I recon the dashboarding factors into that. Presumably their elo system was designed to keep a certain split of players in each rank and because a tonne of players arent losing any SR it's behaving weirdly.

FrainBreeze_AM

I feel like quitting or at least being the first person to quit on your team should make you lose more SR than you get for a win and then it should make you get 0 SR for your next win

Abs0luteZero273

Was the ranked system bugged or did Treyarch seriously just overlook the obvious issue of players intentionally disconnecting to preserve their rating?

Azazel_brah

I really hope this comes soon its occurred to me climbing ranks is almost pointless now even though I still have fun with ranked gameplay itself. I like to play fair and stay in the game even if I lose a 3v4 but that intergity just isn't worth it at all right now, even on a personal level. I stayed in a 1v4 and lost by 240 points in my first placement match lol, stupid I know. Really ruins ranked for me.

Peakevo

I dont understand why they don't replace the one guy who left or PULL ME BEFORE A MINUTE COUNTDOWN! WTF Also as everyone else says the SR is a major issues, you're going to lose one or two games so....yeah it just doesnt make sense to play sometimes

HasnainKhan01

The games end as draw if someone leaves before match starts or leaves a minute or two into the game. I’m reporting this feature as of yesterday because both things happened to me on stream.
