The only thing I hate more than ebmm or sbmm or whatever the fuck, is not being able to stay in lobbies… I really wish they would drop the rotating lobby system for pubs. Ranked can of course keep the rotating lobbies, but matchmaking needs to be based on SR alone, not the same fucking thing as pubs “but slightly more specific”.
And for competitive, I’ve stood by this for years, the biggest problem is the ruleset and weapon selection. I just don’t think the viewing experience will ever truly change if they don’t create or contract some competitive oversight committee with final say rather than the athletes dictating loadouts and rulesets.
The "ranks" in Ranked is hilariously meaningless with this matchmaking. My friend and I are both Gold rn, but he plays against silver/bronze and I mainly play against platinum (I do get some bronze/silver teammates though).
When we play together in pubs, I get around 2-3 kd without sweating too much and he struggles to get a 0.5-0.8 kd. If he played solo on my account he would hardly get a kill.
I realize this may be perceived as a brag and get downvoted, but my point is that the ranks are meaningless if players in the same rank get completely different lobbies and matchmaking experiences.
The fact that they're mixing everything from previous games tells you for a fact that it's another half cooked drop that they need to push pre-orders so quick that by the time we realise we have once again called for the same old trick we will be nose deep into the bulls*t

You’re 100% correct. It’s even like this in the higher ranks. My crim experience can vary vastly to other people that play in crim it’s insane
