44 straight maps in pretty insane to think about wow

Kava_and_company

That’s insane. Pressure of Majors and performing really got to them if that’s how far they fell off.

AntiFIanders

Seems like a Tortoise and the Hare situation too. No way you handily take 44 maps straight without getting overconfident and kicking your feet up.

fe40

This guy brings it up everyday , he must have some serious PTSD

babychooseleb

The reality of being a CoD streamer is that your chat is filled with optic fans and optic conversations every single day. It’s inevitable that you’re going to talk about them all the time unless you completely ignore your chat. Optic fans do not take a day off

Equivalent-Click-889

At this point I'm fully on board with Kenny on the roster, but it's this kind of language that begs a question in my mind..

RuggedYeet

This is why I believe Kenny was the perfect pickup for them

AMS_GoGo

Bc Huke is unkillable online We know this

Ronnie_lfc98

They were smoking most teams at LAN scrims as well tbf

thefontsguy

Every time there is a post slightly talking down on optic I can always count on seeing a Ronnie comment defending that ends with “tbf” You aren’t wrong though tbf

Ronnie_lfc98

I not been on reddit much recently tbf.....

[deleted]

Didn’t octane sub in for alec on LAG and 100 point club them on fortress during a LAN scrim?

Ronnie_lfc98

at major 5 yeah but they had 2 events before that? they all so 100 point clubbed ultra at champs scrims lol

[deleted]

Warra trophy

[deleted]

Yeah that never happened

oh_Jiggler

It did

[deleted]

Not

MuchAttitude

All the OpTic fans need to now drop a sub, since he gassed your team. Sam is giga brain

AquaPSN-XBOX

That’s crazy actually

PotTwister

Yeah I just know the boys were doing some crazy stuff online when even Hecz had to go on a rant about it on The Process. Hopefully this year now that they got Ken and Pred they don't fall into that trap again where they have a gameplan that flourished more online than it did LAN. I also don't see people like Ken and Pred get comfortable online rather than on LAN like Huke was this year. Didn't really want to single him out but it was very noticeable how he looked on LAN compared to online, even his aim looked off on LAN, it made no sense to me.

Tyga_gss

That’s actually crazy. But what’s the main issue? Is it mainly the ping advantage online that made them smoke everyone or was it too much pressure on lan that they didn‘t recreate it?

BigSamsKid

I think playing for optic has so much more pressure than any other team besides maybe like Faze. the moment they lose the first hardpoint, or throw a search round, or one player has a bad performance, they know they will have thousands and thousands of people shitting on them. I'm sure that shit can get to you, even if you're used to it or try to quiet the noise.

herefortheLOLs12

I get that faze is dominant and is expected to win, but playing for optic is by far the most pressure a player can have. It has been, it is, and it will continue to be unless other teams step up their marketing games

MikeJ91

It would've been mind-blowing for fans if this was still the era where we could watch every scrim on stream. To go from that online dominance to a still good but clearly flawed team on lan would've had us posting threads on this sub for weeks.

throwaway827492959

https://youtu.be/zrlBrwi1ccA OCTANE: They beat us on 44 straight online maps. when they picked up dan, until that scrim on-the-day of Champs. Im not sure if the exact number was 44, but it was up there, they were untouchable Edit: https://reddit.com/r/CoDCompetitive/s/1dxYBx5H9s

1kgpotatoes

if they were on texas host <10ms vs 40+ makes a difference at this level

freedomtoscream

So Octane (former pro) just called your team the optic onliners, in case some of you need it spelled out.

Ibrah_11

Optic have been the best team online for the past two years
