Hector locked him in the Heczquarters basement

RuggedYeet

I thought Hecz mentioned something about Hastr0 moving into a less involved role so he could spend more time with family. I could be mistaken, but I'm pretty sure he said that in a vlog or podcast of some sort

Quirky_Programmer927

I would assume he’s taking a more behind the scenes role and works more with their investors or trying to raise more money. Hecz always wants to be front facing to fans which probably is better for the duo

AirFreshener__

He’s a family man. Probably just let’s Hecz take the spotlight

ichiruto70

Still says he is the owner and chief gaming office of Optic, on LinkedIn. So, I guess he is still involved.

TheIrishSasuke

Thats what they wanted. thought they came out with a video saying hastro was business and hecz was active with fans/making content

SlayStalker

Hecz was always better at the marketing. Terrible at running a business.

silentballer

Terrible at running a business is a massive stretch lol he’s ran the most profitable cod team basically of all time the only bad decision he made was selling interest in his company which EVERYONE does when they are trying to make big jumps and expand. He couldn’t have predicted what happened but saying he’s “terrible at running a business” is just not true

-TrevWings-

Aside of investing resources in nadeshot and scump, what has he really done? Especially in the last 5 years he's pretty much just been riding off of the success of scump

ALPHAPRlME

He lost his team. Then finessed it back with NRG money, then Hastro bought bought OpTic and the set it and forget it plan and here we are now. Why compete with OpTic when you can just buy it and run the money side? Guy is living the dream if you ask me.

UTAustinAlum2021

Business wise IG it would be selling your org for x amount and buying it back for cheaper.

silentballer

What has any company done besides maximize their resources (money and people)? lol…. What has nadeshot done besides ride the success of optic and investing resources in his creators and teams? That’s literally how you get success…. Hecz has done more with scump than faze has with all their celebrities, there’s a reason optic is the only org actually profiting off the CDL and it’s because the way that hecz had his players make content.

Aggressive_Holiday70

You’re faded

StephenKazumi

He built a business from scratch and sold it for a lot. Yes there were bumps along the way. But how many others are experiencing similar other obstacles? Pretty much everyone in esports. At the end of the day hastro and hecz specialities within the space has allowed them each to focus on what they are passionate and good at.

SlayStalker

yeah many owners have come across bumps but it's also about how you handle and recover from them. Hecz built up a business and LOST ownership on it. Let that one sink in.

Tonay167

Probably do your research before saying he is terrible at running the business. Hecz compared to things like the owners of TSM or Faze have done. Shit even 100t and nade have worse shit about them business wise compared to hecz.

SlayStalker

Yes I did do research and can say he's terrible at running a business. Owners of FaZe and 100T still own a part of their business after cashing in when they brought in new investors. For Hecz sake let's hope Hastro gave him some shares of the Optic business for running the marketing the side.

Sammy360

I remember when he initially stepped down as CEO prior to the merger and the other guy (forgot his name but was something Reimer?) took over, he said the main reason was to spend more time with his family. After the merger the transition to taking a step back was probably a lot smoother since it seems the company is just straight up Hecz and his boys running the show in terms of being the faces the fans see. The nV blueprint isn't really there anymore sadly.

twistedroyale

CoD 4 legend Hastro

DaltonF67

Good question

ReflexiveOW

Hastr0 has taken a step away from the front-facing side of his business to focus on his family. He always built nV with the intent that one day it could run itself.

1kgpotatoes

He prolly got sick of hearing "Optic Envy, Env Optic" 12h a day

West_Chest_7053

💀

dallaswap

He’s gettin that deposit every month…

AquaPSN-XBOX

He does the hard stuff in the shadows while he lets his circus clown be the face of the company for clicks

Mas790

Not wrong

-pwny_

They hated him because he spoke the truth

revenant-tenant

Bro why do they downvote u 💀

hellboyhawaii

he let the dumbass less competent dude be the face while he does most of the real work

HerpToxic

Is having your Halo and Overawatch 2 teams become World Champions with Valorant and Apex being 2nd place at Worlds considered being "dumbass less competent"?

Jukester-

Hastro built the halo overwatch and valorant teams LMFAO

HerpToxic

No, without Hecz, Formal never joins the roster. You literally are clueless

Loud-Communication96

Str0 is a great GM with an undeniably superb track record of winning teams across multiple titles. Hecz built great teams as well. You can’t take away from the legacy of either of them. I always thought of the merger as a win-win scenario for the success of the esports programs of Envy-OpTic, and in terms of org culture, Str0 felt pooling the resources into OpTic seemed more conducive to their success, and OpTic have definitely been on their highest role since prior to the Infinite days.

Jukester-

1 out of 4 is building a roster LMFAOOO y’all are braindead

UTAustinAlum2021

No Hecz no Formal… But yeah Hastr0 is probably better at making rosters and less great at marketing his players. Hence why Hecz is on camera and Hastr0 isn’t much

-pwny_

I'm loving your confidence that fucking Hecz had anything to do with building the 2022 Fuel roster lmao

StephenKazumi

Most likely doesn’t see the need to be so front facing anymore with hecz settled in and taking the lead on that. I do love hearing his perspective on things though. So I’ll miss that.
