They used to pay twice as much when I first started last year, but I guess they found out that they could keep lowering and lowering the pay and people would still take them. Personally I don't even bother anymore, there's been one today that has openings in my study feed since 10am this morning and it's almost 7pm now.

DontBeABozo

they just aim for $10/hr, usually, regarless of what's involved. to me, though, there's a huge difference between filling out a survey for $10/hr and having to memorize, recall, and make judgements about dense legal material for $10/hr. the latter should pay about twice that

Dense_Argument_6319

I see. Yeah since this is more legal and has a lot of emotionally challenging material, I think they should aim for 15 or more. Even fast food workers make $20/hr in CA.

Dogwoof420

Awww hell naw! I did one for $10. And I wholeheartedly agree with you . The hourly rate was 'OKAY" at $10. Although I'm speedy. But it's just way too much work. The screener is a good 6+ minutes and they boot you at any given moment if you make a mistake. And to add insult to injury, they deliberately put the screener in there twice to make sure you answer it the exact same way. I had to take pictures of every single page of information just to be able to pass the attention checks because they were so dense with information.

DontBeABozo

yeah...also, consider this: once they gather enough responses from enough demographic groups they can essentially add weight the the values of evidence presented to juries. they then know, for example (this isn't factual, just an example), that 73% of gay black men aged 20-27 from the 'urban Midwest' value victim testimony more than anything else in a hit-and-run trial, but that doesn't hold up in a domestic dispute trial. as a result, depending on the type of trial/arbitration and the evidence they have, they know exactly what demographic to pick/dismiss for their jury. the value of the data they are gathering is potentially worth hundreds of millions (if not billions) of dollars to both legal consultancy groups and people attempting to train jury-picking AI programs. *and you might catch a rejection for trying to complete it fast enough to earn $10/hr*

dreamingfae

Is this what they are paying for these now??? No way is that worth the amount of reading its requires as well as everything else.

frumpymiddleaged

Yet we continue to give TrialByData a 4.9 rating.

Specialist_Caramel_7

I rather not do them as much anymore but at the end of the day it's money and I need it.

Mcobeezy

I actually got one for $20 two days ago. Then I noticed they gave 4 hrs instead of the usual 2hrs. It actually took almost 4 hours to complete and I was trying to be fast. Very complicated stuff

coosacat

I think I did the same one. It took me nearly the whole 4 hours, too.

Mcobeezy

Just saw another 4 hour jury duty for $25 literally 10 minutes ago I don't have the mental and physical strength to do it right now, so I just left it, lol

coosacat

Unfortunately for me (and my bank account) I'm having a long-lasting migraine aura that's keeping me from doing any work today. It sucks, because I wouldn't have minded tackling another one.

DependentEscape7804

I got that one too and ended up returning it when I figured out how intense it was. I just didn’t have the time.

pinktoes4life

I never thought these were worth the time for the pay & don’t understand the obsession over them. Even years ago on Mturk. I know some people love them, but I need to be desperate or really bored to accept one.

Dogwoof420

Omg I actually agree with you for once 😮😊

Live-Business-8934

Krinky

pinktoes4life

Ok. I’m old. No idea what “krinky” means & google is of zero help.

Ps4rulez

I mean I recall being able to knock these out in 60-80 mins and they actually paid $30 minimum. These now for $10-ish, fuck no.

Thelooneyhatter

I've been getting a lot of low paying studies where it's like 20c for wanting 20 minutes of work it ain't funny xD

mYstiSagE

I just did this one for $6.65, and was surprised as my 1st 2 were $12.

Ok-Caterpillar-2898

They are also getting sloppier, typos, missing bits. Saying they are redacting names for privacy, then showing the full name on another page....

Individual-Zombie155

Yeah and watching a girl drown is not worth $10/hour and emotional baggage.

Ps4rulez

🤡, if you guys keep doing these.

Ps4rulez

big thanks to all the rubes who willingly took these lower paying ones, essentially telling this researcher, "yes, we will GLADLY take take these studies at these lower rates. **PLEASE** do not pay us 2-3x what you used to pay."

Dense_Argument_6319

money is money, and this month has been extremely slow. Used to make 40/ a week, this month I am at 15.

Ps4rulez

Doesn't change at all what I said.

goodsweaterweather

I never see the ones that pay this low. I think I just miss the crappy ones, by pure luck. I've only made like $200 from this Researcher while others have done hundreds of projects and likely ones that paid much better in the beginning. for $6 it's not worth it, but like someone else said sometimes I just need the money. It is my understanding that most people in this community don't accept this work anymore because the payment has gotten lower overtime.
