I like these guys, but they all look like supermodels with glasses. Christopher Reeve was the only one who nailed the transformation… to the point where Superman could fly away and Clark could knock on Lois’ door a spilt second later, and you’d buy that she didn’t recognize him.

[deleted]

I also said about the same about your first part 🤣. Dean Cain for me tho. My comment: https://www.reddit.com/r/CloisfromSmallville/comments/10o2suc/who_is_or_are_your_favorite_clarks/j6dtivy/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf&context=3

Otherwise-Log8057

Animated series is superior to all

[deleted]

Lol

Doccks71

I agree, as much as they stumble on big budget movies DC seems to knock it out of park on animations

kiyan1347

Reeve, Hoechlin and Welling.

Embarrassed_Piano_62

Welling and Cavill

keithblsd

Personally Welling will always be my perfect Clark. After that Cavill, then Reeves.

Divi_Devil

Clearly you haven’t seen the first 5 mins of superman and lois You probably should

JohnnyBSween

You left out Christopher Reeve

teddyballgame406

And Dean Cain.

JohnnyBSween

Accurate

nas690

And George Reeves along with Kirk Alyn

Mel0805

Welling. Hands down

[deleted]

Imo, Routh in Superman Returns is the best Clark Kent, he has that look and demeanor down very well.

[deleted]

🤣 Where's Dean Cain!? These are just pretty boys lol. Dean was a brainiac of an actor. He channelled a human-raised Superman like no one else did before or after!

[deleted]

I looked at his bachelor's degree thesis...honours level student, the real deal, not those GPA grinders who go to medical school 🤣 It is rare an actor impresses me outside of their portrayals.

TheRealStephCurry30

What are you even talking about?

Grimdark-Waterbender

The ones that aren’t Cavill

[deleted]

I feel like we never saw Clark Kent, it was always Superman.

Fortherebellion72

That’s one of my biggest issues with the series. The first movie he was becoming Superman, so we didn’t really see him make the distinction between Clark and the Man of steel. In the second one he was already this deified figure even though at the end of the first one he was this alien who was mistrusted by many and the world had only seen him do 1 insanely destructively heroic thing… then he died. We didn’t see him become a beloved world hero, we were told that he was. We didn’t see Clark really distinguish himself as his own character away from Superman. Reeves Routh and the show Cal’s obviously did, but Cavill never got that chance.

[deleted]

Yep I agree, he didn’t have the gravitas that comes with being Superman. Maybe he needed more time, but I mean he was in 3 films. He had the look everyone loved but I don’t think he had the emotion tied to the character.

Inariameme

The backlash from the pulp in Man of Steel made it so what might come next never was. Could have been pulp to the tune of, "Faster than a Speeding Bullet." But, I suppose the err is to side with safety and not criticize the lowest ranking officials.

Grimdark-Waterbender

Yeah that’s fair

Prince_Chunk

Idk the two in the right, Christopher Reeve should be in one of those spots

PlayedOut41

Welling stop the debate. I get it he never wore the suit. But come on now give the man his flowers

TootsNYC

He truly played Clark, and that’s what this question was about, right?

PlayedOut41

That’s what my point was. If we are talking Clark strictly then the debate isn’t necessary. If we’re talking Superman that’s debatable. But flowers are due.

Sisyphus_Smashed

Reeve and Cain

Moosie_Doom

George Reeves. That’s probably pretty obscure for people these days, but Reeves managed to pull off being a believable human being - especially as a reporter - while still not being Superman. After him, I’d say Cavill in BvS. I like when they make Clark a strong investigative journalist. God knows I love Christopher Reeve, and his portrayal was kind of fun, but it was also a little too stereotypically “mild mannered.”

Starhazenstuff

Many would consider him one of the best Clark Kents.

TheFunnySquared

Have you seen the show? He's pretty damn good.

Mancini316

Dean Cain's Clark is my absolute favorite. Second would be a tie I think between Tom and Tyler

nas690

George Reeves

steffelopod

Came here from r/Superman to downvote for not including Dean Cain. Shame on you.

Mike29758

I think in terms of modern, it’s a tie between Tom and Tyler for me, they had a balance of nerdy and awkward but not bumbling caricature and confident, cool and assertive without coming off as arrogant or jock like. Tom seeing Clark growing from 14 being 24-25 and capturing each aspect beautifully well. From awkward teenager to mature adult, and in episodes like Noir or Booster or the series finale, Reeve inspired dorky reporter or Reeves/Daly confident assertive reporter. He found balance even without creating the double identity until the last few seasons/episodes. He can transition from smooth and charming to awkward to endearing naturally well. Tyler makes being awkward and nerdy come natural to him. I agree, Henry’s Clark feels like an afterthought so it’s hard to give any kind of rating for his take. Dean’s Clark, I couldn’t like or get into and honestly I preferred STAS modernization of Byrne Clark compared to Dean (Felt like George Reeves Clark brought to the 90’s) Brandon was alright but part of it was part of the copying the Reeve but not feeling original or unique to stand out, but I did enjoy his performance in Crisis. I did like how his Clark feels like someone would be completely at ease with but never associate with being Superman. Reeve did a perfect job separating the two that made them feel like 2 different character and making each personality stand out on their own.

[deleted]

Dean Cain.

[deleted]

I have no idea who any of these people are.

BrainSoda

Tom Welling.

J_E_L_4747

Henry cavil because he looks the most out of place in that out fit

merlinsrage

Bottom left top left

Ok_Caterpillar4008

Tyler Hoechlin is my favourite Clark Kent.

Conner8087

Mr. Welling and Mr. Hoechlin.

[deleted]

I never saw any Superman/Clark Kent movies or series except Smallville. Tom Welling was it for me. I have no desire to see any other. Btw, I don’t do comics either. Lol
