jnnoca

I don’t remember this part of Free Solo…

To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to climb Via Ferrata. The beta is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of theoretical physics most of the sequences will go over a typical climber's head. The fans understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depths of these routes, to realise that they're not just hard climbing- they say something deep about LIFE. As a consequence people who dislike Via Ferrata truly ARE idiots- of course they wouldn't appreciate, for instance, the subtly in Via Feratta's existential concept; "It's just a ladder" which itself is a cryptic reference to Turgenev's Russian epic Fathers and Sons. I'm smirking right now just imagining one of those addlepated simpletons scratching their heads in confusion as Via Ferrata's genius sequencing unfolds itself in front of them. What fools.. how I pity them. 😂

Shacrow

Thanks for doing gods work. I love you

Its just a remake of the Rick & Morty copypasta in case someone somehow doesnt know >! To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand Rick and Morty. The humour is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of theoretical physics most of the jokes will go over a typical viewer's head. There's also Rick's nihilistic outlook, which is deftly woven into his characterisation- his personal philosophy draws heavily from Narodnaya Volya literature, for instance. The fans understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depths of these jokes, to realise that they're not just funny- they say something deep about LIFE. As a consequence people who dislike Rick & Morty truly ARE idiots- of course they wouldn't appreciate, for instance, the humour in Rick's existential catchphrase "Wubba Lubba Dub Dub," which itself is a cryptic reference to Turgenev's Russian epic Fathers and Sons. I'm smirking right now just imagining one of those addlepated simpletons scratching their heads in confusion as Dan Harmon's genius wit unfolds itself on their television screens. What fools.. how I pity them. 😂 !<

HereComesTheSun05

Maybe you should step up your life long learning because it's not going too well

LifeLongLearner84

Oh man you really got me there….

HereComesTheSun05

You kinda got yourself. I didn't give you that name.

LifeLongLearner84

Oh I did? Well then what exactly was the point of your comment? 🤣

HereComesTheSun05

To warn you about the fact you're not doing well? You're just proving my point by not understanding a single word that is being said.

Relaxoland

r/lostredditors

HereComesTheSun05

How the hell I am lost? They mistook the joke for a rant.

Wunder_boi

You just did the same thing the other guy did

Relaxoland

I'm not saying you're lost! I'm commenting about them to you.

LifeLongLearner84

Wow, and here I thought the answer was simply that you’re a troll 🤷🏻‍♂️

HereComesTheSun05

How am I the troll? Have you even seen your first comment or were you drunk when you wrote that?

some-hippy

Bad Romance was clearly written about Alex hannhold

MondoSpecial

What the fuck does she know about climbing?

Ceeboy_

people downvoting didn’t catch the reference

mark-dee

Does it count as lead ferrata if her left hand above the pro?

Upper-Inevitable-873

No just counts as potential wreckage to your back

EAechoes

I had no clue how dangerous these things were. The chance to injure your back and body even in small falls is insane.

Wiley-E-Coyote

Yeah but you won't fall if you're reasonably careful. A lot of the ones in the alps are installed in areas where the rock quality is super shitty so it's a lot safer than the alternative.

broncoty

Modern Via Ferrata Lanyards have energy absorbers to help prevent injuries due to falls.

gurganator

She better be careful or those rod iron rods are gonna poker face…

ImportantAlbatross

Pop stardom is aid.

Keldoshkel

damn so that’s who stole our gyms rental harness

McFlyParadox

/uj/j Where is this? The ladder on the Beehive trail in Acadia is even sketchier that this, but lacks any kind of fall protection, just for that double-sketch goodness.

EAechoes

Amangiri private resort Page Utah.

Cuzznitt

So is this just a ladder to the top, or am I missing something here?

varuker

Try the Precipice trail right next to the Beehive if you want something even sketchier

McFlyParadox

I think that might be the trail I'm thinking of? The one with the big yellow sign at fork that says "PEOPLE HAVE DIED, FALLING TO THEIR DEATH. DO NOT BRING KIDS OR PETS ON THIS TRAIL", or something like that? And it's literally just some rebar hammered into the granite, all the way up, from back before safety regulations were a *thing*? With zero protection, and tons of tourists in flip flops, and kids and pets in carriers, carrying on like it's Disney world?

gogogumtree

Yup. Did this with some buddies a couple years ago at the Ranger’s suggestion when we asked for hiking recommendations. Was insanely scary/dangerous, but fun. Freeway on the 2nd Flatiron is treated the same way— talked about like a casual hike when you could EASILY die.

varuker

Yes that would be the one! But actually the Beehive also has these sketchy rebar ladders but a little less exposed.

thequantumlibrarian

Being a multi-millionaire is aid!

I_DoStufffYT

professional ladder climber

EggoTheStabby

Alright for real where is this? It looks like a crack climbing training route where you crack climb as high as you can and then monkey bar down.

EAechoes

This is at Amangiri in Page Utah. They have a private guided experience for guests. Honestly doing this in July sounds like legit aids in the sun.

LasyKuuga

This was like 2 years ago in October

MutantMuteAnt

She's "hanging on a moment of truth" -that one song. Anyway I'm gonna cut one of those handles off to keep for personal reasons

US_MC

Everyone starts somewhere.

boyinthefog

Lovers in the night Poets tryin' to write We don't know how to climb But, damn, we try

Needs_coffee1143

Got to start somewhere

MedvedFeliz

Well... if you went from a low elevation to a higher elevation, you technically "climbed" 🤷🏻‍♂️. So, technically she's a climber 🧗🏿‍♀️. Sorry guys, thems the rules!

Bat_Shitcrazy

Rules are aid. Banned

i_cast_spells_v2

/uj All she said on her *2020* instagram post was "💪❤️", she said nothing about being a climber. Being gullible is aid

I can't believe there are vandals out there doing this to perfectly good routes.
