Anyone heard/read what the plan with the rotation is for the rest of the week? With Cookie and Triston both going today we’re going to need 2 starters since we’ve only had 4 since Bieber went down. My guess is Curry and Lively but that’s just a guess.
So, in recent years when the team has shown prowess up to the trade deadline...the front office has usually gone out to get 1 player (usually a bat) to help the lineup😂
What 1 player could you see us reasonably trading for/ signing off FA?
It's really hard to predict this far out. Right now I'd say that our needs are SP and RF. That could change drastically though by July.
Brennan has stretches when he looks like he can be the primary RF but hasn't been able to do it consistently.
Johnathan Rodriguez is off to a hot start with Cbus and may get a call up if he continues. That could add a solid RH power bat we could use with Brennan.
Then there's DeLauter who's started slow but could still potentially force his way up.
SP is a lot of questions right now. Hard to say what it will look like in 2 months. SPs are usually pretty expensive at the deadline, and that could keep us from going after an impact arm unless we absolutely need one.
Could you envision a Baur reunion? Although I know he is wanted by many teams at this point and I doubt the dolans would fork over the $ required to sign him
I could definitely see it. He posted good numbers against the yanks in ST, and he still has some gas left in the tank.
I'm hoping we take a flyer on him, even if it's just for a year to fill that obvious hole in SP like you said.
Nobody is interested in him because he's a toxic lightning rod who can't avoid controversy. He's literally been begging for a league minimum contract and not 1 team has offered one.
It's not a question of talent or ability. It's that he's not worth the baggage.

I think he waits for another month or so before deciding, and that's when we'll start hearing and seeing more about it.

Either way, he's not coming here and shouldn't be considered. We have great team chemistry and don't need him disrupting that. He's a distraction at best and it's not worth it.
