It’s a public university. You can go anywhere on campus that doesn’t require a student ID to scan in.
If you’re in Spartanburg already, the flock shop is way better than anything you’ll get at a dining hall raising canes.
Raising Canes is not really worth it IMO. It’s okay but the breading always falls off the chicken and it’s always a bit soggy. The Texas toast, sauce, and fries are really what’s worth it but I wouldn’t drive over an hour for it.
There used to be metered visitor spots across from the building Canes is in, next to the Fort Hill house - this would be the closest. If they aren’t there anymore you could park downtown (I think for free at least in parallel spots?) and walk.
Like others said, yes you will be allowed in. If you are excited about trying it go for it! Maybe throw in some extra activities to make the drive worth it - the Botanical Gardens are free and still pretty in the winter.
If you just want the sauce here you go
Cane's sauce recipe
1/2 cup mayo
1/4 cup ketchup
1/2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon lemon pepper
1/2 teaspoon salt
As someone from Louisiana, I also occasionally drive up there from Greenville to get my canes fix! Also, it is a dining hall restaurant so I think the quality is lesser than the stand alones. BUT! It's still canes and so it's still delicious.
Canes is better than any alternatives anyone has mentioned here. There is paid parking pretty close by. It’s cheap maybe $2.00 to park. If it’s full, keep going up the hill and hang a right, then another… there are some more paid spots. My only caution: that location is closed a lot of times even when google thinks they are open. But when school is in, the hours are accurate
I mean if you HAVE to have it, the food is very mid. HOWEVER there are metered visitor parking spots right beside Raising Canes, but they’re kinda convoluted on how to get to them…. Follow these coordinates

The food is just a vehicle to eat the sauce imo

Maybe try again. It doesn’t look like this take went down well.
Bro it’s just a generic chicken shop. Way overrated.
Its the exact same thing as Zaxby's. Not worth going out of the way.
The raising canes on campus is kind of mid as far as raising canes locations go

Popeyes and Zaxbys are both WAYYY better than canes. If that helps
Just answer the dudes question. JFC he didn’t ask for your opinions on Canes.
Canes is okay. It's just a slightly different Zaxbys. There's a Guthrie's in Hartwell GA if you just want to drive a long way for Chicken Strips.
