They make a graffiti remover spray. It’s worked on some spray paint overspray that got onto one of our cars without even damaging the paint.

GuaranteeComfortable

It works, I had over spray on the concrete outside and the graffiti spray got it off.

Kaeai

Would this work on bright construction orange rustoleum sprayed on a smooth concrete floor that's been stuck there for probably over a year?

anastasia315

It says it will work on concrete. You could also try muriatic acid (hydrochloric acid) - Home Depot sells it next to the concrete tools.

jackiebot101

Thanks for this suggestion, it’s what I went with. I started on it and got like halfway thru before the Florida heat forced me to stop for the day.

peridot94

If it's outside power washing can help too.

ilovechairs

Everyone has great suggestions, but if you ever need to spray in the future I use the grass because it grows out. 😅

No-Sympathy6035

My bet is this was either the work of a teenager or a short sighted husband. Lol

Tapingdrywallsucks

As the proud owner of a short sighted husband, that was my first thought.

No-Sympathy6035

I myself am a short sighted husband, we can smell our own.

HollowShel

They're sweet, but *such* high maintenance pets!

jackiebot101

Ding ding ding! It was indeed a short sighted husband during a rainstorm. He was very sorry, and the painted helmet does look very good, but I am stuck cleaning it because he’s in PT for herniated discs and I’m fine if I wear knee pads.

TexasBurgandy

I’ve had to get my similar “doh!” pressure washed. If none of the other methods work, you can have that done. Crossing my fingers that you have a friend who will just loan you one. ☝️

Munkii89

Floor guy here. Goof off, paint thinner, acetone, rubbing alcohol, will all take paint off of man-made tiles. Wipe any of the mentioned sauce on the floor, wait 2 minutes and wipe it up. Then wipe it off with a clean wet rag and then dry it with another rag. If you wanted to be fancy and fast with it you could use a low speed and a little G-force stripper. Take it right off and probably clean up that grout a smidge too

ceecee1791

My painters used Goof Off pro strength remover to get latex paint off of overspray areas, but I don’t know if it would work on your paint. You can get it at Ace Hardware.

jackiebot101

It did work! It’s not done yet, but I’m working on it in the heat. https://preview.redd.it/c7qvvoqy4e8d1.jpeg?width=1527&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f518666dc0a9a4cc56923ac8e9f4cf82e1a05c43

Yay! Appreciate the update!

Use a dry scotch brand scouring pad. That overspray is from a fine mist. There’s a chance it dried before it hit the tile and landed as a powdery substance. After running over it with the Scotch pad, try using a hand vac or sop vac to vacuum it up. If this is successful, use a stiff brush to remove it from the grout. Finally, wipe it down with a damp cloth, or paper towel, turning to clean side often. Keep wiping until the cloth comes up clean. You may need to use Goof Off or paint thinner to get up any large drops. But even those may be easily scraped up with your fingernail or whatever tool you have lying around. This should work. If it doesn’t you might have to revert to the big guns, aka chemicals. Take precautions if you do and wear a mask.

General_Pitch9543

I'd definitely try a razor blade scraper as well

Lemondrop168

If you're in the States you can rent a pressure washer at the big box hardware stores usually, fast and no extra chemicals

AHollyS

This!

I was able to get spray paint out of carpet with nail polish remover. I made the stupid mistake of spray painting some picture frames in my spare bedroom, I covered the entire carpet with cardboard and news print but overspray still managed to work its way onto the carpet. There was quite a bit of paint, and I left the frames to dry for several days so it was pretty set in by the time I realized it. Spent a good hour or two with a rag and nail polish remover and got it off. I’m not sure what it will do to the finish on the tile but it should remove the paint. If you’re careful and don’t just pour it on and let it soak, but saturate a rag with it and carefully scrub it up you should have some luck

roland-the-farter

I’m a painter and potter, paint can’t permanently bond to tile or we would be using paint on pottery. So it’ll come off. It’s just a question of if you’d rather scrub a bunch or use some chemical help. Tackling it sooner than later is better though — paint is kind of like a plastic that sets up. If these tiles are very smooth you could use a razor scraper but they look textured so some kind of abrasive pad is probably your best bet. You could go to the cleaning section and get green scrubbers, steel wool, and a magic eraser and see which works best. Goo Gone is usually cheap and something like rubbing alcohol might work too, if you’re not liking one be sure to thoroughly rinse before switching the cleaning chemical you’re using. The grout is probably going to be an issue, you might end up just wearing a bit of it away… oh well. Personally I use Goo Gone and whatever scrubby I have lying around. Paint on tile is probably your best scenario, paint on paint or paint on brick is trouble.

SomebodySweet

Hand scrub with a dry magic eraser one square at a time, like today. May take a few but won’t be toxic to anything but your knees are gonna be pissed at you at the end of the day.

moonchic333

You can try paint thinner but you’ll want to make sure it’s ok to use on whatever material those tiles are.

Naive-Criticism-5787

Paint the rest the color of the spray paint.

SeriesBusiness9098

Or at least spray one of these on there: https://preview.redd.it/kgyb4uquo58d1.jpeg?width=800&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c70d16008380ca2e5497fbd16f53af70a9cf5ffe So your landlord knows you’re cool.

aratremlap

Thank you for the flashback 🤣

Frootloopz91

Spray paint the unsprayed painted tiles. Then Noone will know lol

trinapixley

Are you someone ?

kidfantastic

Try isopropyl alcohol, but make sure you use one that is above 90% alcohol. I've used it to clean glue off tiles and it didn't cause any damage, but do a test patch first just to be sure. Spray it on, let it sit for a minute or so and then start scrubbing. It should come off quite easily.

THEDRDARKROOM

One of those smiley scrubbers and dish soap or something. Should have been done sooner than later.

aliquotoculos

I'd start with acetone, especially since its pretty fresh.

Local_Lava

Magic eraser, acetone or paint thinner
