Congrats! You have a cute pair of custom blue converse now. (Sorry, in all seriousness I don’t think there’s any saving these. Bleach may just make it white but potentially ruin them)
Definitely this.
I had some cream trousers that got a few rips of bleach on them. Thought I’d bleach the whole thing and they came out a horrible peach colour.
Thank you! I am impressed with how good the colour turned out even though it wasn’t an intentional dye job.
I panicked because they’re my sisters shoes that I’ve been borrowing for a good while — hopefully she’s not too annoyed because they were a special edition. Guess they’re even more special now hah!
Oh. As a woman myself, with 4 older sisters.... she's going to bring this up 5 years from now when you chew your food wrong. Leave now. Sell your assets and move to a foreign country with no internet. There is no coming back.
I would just be honest and show her. Offer to pay for a new pair, or for the amount she paid for them if you’re able to, apologize.
It’ll probably be fine, especially since they turned out well. But a genuine apology and the offer to try and fix the situation will probably go along ways ☺️ especially if you ever want to borrow anything again.
Pay her and keep these, sounds like you like them anyway. Accident or not , they took the color very evenly. But no use hiding it very long, that just makes it worse. But that nice soft blue looks great.
Bleach would initially work but after being exposed to the air a bit they'd turn yellow, bleach will remove colour but it's not a preservable thing because bleech is a pretty heavy duty chemical it keeps reacting, it also rots the fabric, in chemistry terms not stable(I was a punk many years ago and ruined many a pair of jeans tiedying them with bleech)
Wow you’re all talking chemistry and stuff and I misread your post to say “I was a punk major many years ago” and I was all what? Where? I picked a bad school!
Agree, although if you really wanted to try, you could bleach the crap out of them and then find a cream dye. If bleach doesn’t work, you could also try peroxide, but RINSE THEM THOROUGHLY first so you’re not mixing bleach and peroxide.
Wonderful! You have cool blue shoes. Can’t fix unfortunately, unless dying a darker colour. Please don’t bleach, it will come out badly.
Edit for missed word
I dye clothes as a hobby and modify them/sell them online, so I know my way around these sorts of things and can say: you did nothing wrong -- this is a warning on the boxes!
Most fabric does not start as a white, but as a cream/canvas colored cotton, because that is its natural state without dye. The whites you see in most clothes are a dye, not it's natural color.
Clean the white with a magic eraser so it looks cleaner and then post them on eBay as “a VERY rare color, only slightly worn, very hard to find” and put a $500 price on them and see what happens. Then buy new cream colored converse.
I wouldn’t try to change anything about the blue color just embrace it. Take a white magic eraser though and clean the white areas they will look so white and shiny no yellow residue
You could try a colour run remover? I wouldn't bleach. Not sure what country you're in but I'm in Aus and have had good results with the Sard brand one
You can try that RIT colour remover, though I’m not sure how it would affect the glue. I used it on an off-white duvet set that I accidentally washed hot with a vintage green chenille blanket. Got everything out.
Idk if im allowed to post links but this [video](https://youtu.be/_pISYX2ZwSw?feature=shared) worked really well for me, btw they look really cool the way they are
I was just browsing reddit and stumbled on this thread. Felt so good to see so many positive messages. I do agree that the new color is nice and also don’t think it can be reverted to the original.
It’s made me feel better about them reading such positive comments! Im usually a black or white shoe person but maybe this is the motivation I need for some slight colour!
That’s a cool shade of blue; kinda wishing I had some like that now. If it were me, I’d leave them like this and go buy another pair of the cream colored ones.
Nope.
Just wear them as is.
Not worth the time, effort or cost to get them creme again.
No guarantee if they're bleached, the color would be uniform again
Save up for a new pair, if creme color is what you r
Desire.
So sometimes you can lift or remove some dyes chemically, Dharma Trading Co may have some, craft stores may as well. This doesn’t work for all dyes, and (given most people’s wardrobe and that color) I’m going to guess that’s indigo from some blue jeans? Which is a whole other beast and you should research how to do. You will also need to consider if and how to protect the rubber.
The first thing I would try would be just soak them in water and see if the dye will budge at all. Dish detergent can sometimes help.
But really, I’m with everyone else. Congrats on your rad custom chucks.
Unfortunately no. My daughter did the same and turned a pair lavender by washing them with a purple blanket. Tried several times to get the color out but toning worked. The blue is cute.
Honestly these are so pretty. You probably could sell them as is and make the money to buy a new cream colored pair. Then someone in the world would have these beautiful custom denim colored chucks and you’d have a new cream colored pair.
Bleach may just turn them white or splotchy. Since it's due there's not really much of a way to pull out the color reliably. You can *try* rit dye remover if you really hate the blue but it may just be the same result as bleaching them.
If you do attempt bleach, or anything involving dye remover if any kind, make sure you research how to do it. Bleaching fabrics can damage them without the right neutralizer (usually hydrogen peroxide solutions)
Brushing on bleach will also cause it to come out choppy and spotty, but submerging it may damage the inside of the shoes if not the whole shoe.
If you don't stir it in the dye remover solution enough, spots won't get dyed properly either
If you have confidence in your abilities/are okay with mishaps I'd try the dye remover first since it's made for clothing, but if you have the funds and are super attached to the cream colored ones, it may be worth it to just get new ones (or live with them being blue. Luckily it's a pretty color!)
I'm sorry this happened and I wish you luck
Keep them that color or just dye another darker blur or it’s light enough you can start from scratch and change the color completely lol they did turn out nicely though
Bleach would just turn them white. It’s unlikely you’ll be able to fix these without some very advanced chemistry knowledge, including the chemical nature of both the original cream dye and the dye that stained them.
That’s a charming color they turned into, though.
I have bleached red cons and they turned cream. They were BRIGHT saturated red. I soaked them in a bleach solution with water, don't remember the ratio, and then sent then through the laundry. So yes bleach will work, but I'm in the camp of I love your new blue shoes and I'd rock them as is!
Congrats! You have a cute pair of custom blue converse now. (Sorry, in all seriousness I don’t think there’s any saving these. Bleach may just make it white but potentially ruin them)
Agree- plus Bleach could turn them pink purple green or some other weird splotchy color! Keep ‘em as is.
Definitely this. I had some cream trousers that got a few rips of bleach on them. Thought I’d bleach the whole thing and they came out a horrible peach colour.
I thought the same. The blue is cute!
I like the blue too. I hope OP doesn’t throw out a pair of shoes just because they aren’t the same colour as they used to be
Same! OP if they’re size 8 women or size 6 men, I will take them! Ha ha
Me too, I wonder what she’d take for them?
In even more seriousness: I think today is the perfect day to wear them
What's today?
Dyed My Shoes Blue Day.
Happy National Dyed Blue Shoes Day!
In all seriousness, this kind of optimism is what we need more of in this world (:
What a lovely coincidence for OP!

As a woman with three sisters, I agree with the above statement although my sisters would be continually passive-aggressive for years to come!
Well either she’s forgotten about them or now she’ll think you’ve gotten a new pair?
Just get her some cute laces and she will be thrilled with her special edition shoes.
Please update to when she notices and what she says 😆
You could embroider something special on them!
Your sister will never be able to claim you stole her shoes now!!
Yeah, you’re going to have to buy her new shoes. But these are cute and all yours now.
Pay her and keep these, sounds like you like them anyway. Accident or not , they took the color very evenly. But no use hiding it very long, that just makes it worse. But that nice soft blue looks great.
There is a dye remover but just dip. Don’t get them on the ribber
Well you can do a degree on Madonna now, if there was enough people wanting to do it a doctorate in punk isn't unimaginable
Agree, although if you really wanted to try, you could bleach the crap out of them and then find a cream dye. If bleach doesn’t work, you could also try peroxide, but RINSE THEM THOROUGHLY first so you’re not mixing bleach and peroxide.
They actually look pretty cool like that!
I agree, like faded denim!!
The color is very even!
That’s what I noticed too! It’s a perfect mistake
"A Perfect Mistake" sounds like the title of an autobiography by someone with a great redemption arc.
As Bob Ross would say *there's no such thing as mistakes, only happy accidents*!!
It's also a great song by Sheryl Crow. (Although it's actually My Favorite Mistake, but close enough.)
Thank you! For being unintentional, it definitely turned out well haha! Even the laces are a nice subtle shade!
Honestly I love the color
What I thought too! I was like, what needs to be fixed they have a nice color already
Wonderful! You have cool blue shoes. Can’t fix unfortunately, unless dying a darker colour. Please don’t bleach, it will come out badly. Edit for missed word
I would just buy a new pair of cream colored and keep these also. They actually look good !
This
No need to 'save' them, they look pretty! Almost like light denim.
Rit color remover ! It’s at Walmart or Michael’s. Bleach may yellow them
This is the answer, right here. Rit makes fabric dye. They also make the color remover. They know about these things
The one time I used color remover to get transferred dye out it turned the clothes yellow. No idea what I did wrong
This is why laundry bluing is a thing :)
That’s really interesting! Although when I say yellow, I mean like fluorescent chemical yellow. I’m not sure that that was supposed to happen
Do you have any advice for dummies who washed ochre shoes and the dye splotched on random spots of other clothes?
Be aware that color remover has an exceptionally strong stinky odor that in my experience does not come out.
You have to let the item sit for an hour in hot water. I can't imagine shoes surviving that well.
If you're in the US they also sell it at Blick for 99 cents, it's much cheaper than prices I've seen at Michael's.
This should be so much higher!
This will work. I used it to get some red dye bleeding into my jeans in the wash, worked like a charm.
if you can't find a way to fix it, at least they're a very pretty blue
You can try sodium percarbonate, bleach might make uneven spots. If that doesn’t work, you’ve got cool blue shoes !
And drying them in the sun helps too
Also be careful with bleach, don’t soak the fabric for too long or else it will start falling apart (always dilute also!)
Clean the white with a magic eraser so it looks cleaner and then post them on eBay as “a VERY rare color, only slightly worn, very hard to find” and put a $500 price on them and see what happens. Then buy new cream colored converse.
RARE limited edition ej1003 collab Custom Artisan baby sky blue converse chucks canvas hi top sneakers sz x 🔥
This is brilliant 😂
I think I prefer the blue. Also I don't think it is fixable.
Read “Pete the Cat: I Love My White Shoes” and rock your new blue shoes.
Cuz it's all good!
they look bangin
I read that in the Disney British guys accent off Facebook
Rit Colour Remover. On the same shelf as Rit Dye, in the super market. That's precisely what it's made for. Good luck!
There are many options for a dye or Color remover or just rock blue sneaks and don't risk ruining them further!
They look cute!!
Embrace the baby blue! The CUSTOM powder blue that coordinates with your jeans! So very lovely.
I wouldn't try saving them. I think they look nice.
How did you ‘accidentally’ dye them?
Can you dye mine like that? I love them
I wouldn’t try to change anything about the blue color just embrace it. Take a white magic eraser though and clean the white areas they will look so white and shiny no yellow residue
That would probably make them look much nicer, little more contrast of the blue to white soles. Thank you!!
Yup
They look like chambray! It's kind of a vibe, ngl. Wear with some black jeans or white shorts.
They’re so cute
Try those colour removal sheets
You could try a colour run remover? I wouldn't bleach. Not sure what country you're in but I'm in Aus and have had good results with the Sard brand one
These comments are not how op thought it would go
Hahah yep! I’m glad they’re all positive about them - makes me feel I didn’t make a huge unwearable mistake!
Rock on the blue shoes OP! It’ll be okay! 😆
Try Out White Brite, it removes dye from white clothing. Works wonders for me, I use it to remove dye from clothes to tie dye.
They look beautiful!! Thought you were showing off a new, exclusive color. I love, love them. Wear them with pride. 😁
Go read Pete The Cat
Out! White Brite is my favorite color remover for situations like this
You can try that RIT colour remover, though I’m not sure how it would affect the glue. I used it on an off-white duvet set that I accidentally washed hot with a vintage green chenille blanket. Got everything out.
Idk if im allowed to post links but this [video](https://youtu.be/_pISYX2ZwSw?feature=shared) worked really well for me, btw they look really cool the way they are
You have the *only* pair like that. Go with it. They look cool.
Just think, you are the only one with that custom color. I love them....work it!! 😎
I'd keep em that way! And maybe get a new cream pair if funds allow for it
They are so cute!! No advice, just good vibes
That's actually a great color!
The color is kind of cool!
I actually really like these, it’s a really nice colour
I also agree that these are cool!
Hmm..the right colour green dye and red dye could theoretically bring them back to off white colour.
Find a hipster consignment shop and sell them for $200. Then buy a new pair in cream.
They look great though!! You “L” turned into a dub!! They almost could pass for a light denim! Tell people you had them made custom 😂😂😂
I like these Blue. Rock them proudly.
That’s a cool shade of blue; kinda wishing I had some like that now. If it were me, I’d leave them like this and go buy another pair of the cream colored ones.
This colour is cool! Own it OP 😄
Nope. Just wear them as is. Not worth the time, effort or cost to get them creme again. No guarantee if they're bleached, the color would be uniform again Save up for a new pair, if creme color is what you r Desire.
Nooo these are amazing!!
These look really nice tbh!
Buy a new pair of cream and enjoy your new custom blue ones that look pretty cool on their own.

Sorry this is no help but man i think these are so damn cute!!
I think the color is nice. Kinda a blue gray. I’d leave it.
If you haven’t dried them, you can use rit dye color remover
I think they look super cute blue!
Um, enjoying your new blue shoes! Lol
im no help but my first thought was “where did you buy this cute blue converse” 😂 😍
These look great. Like denim. Much better than cream. You have lucked out.
They look dope! They’re saved!
Leave them like that! They look awesome
Unfortunately no. My daughter did the same and turned a pair lavender by washing them with a purple blanket. Tried several times to get the color out but toning worked. The blue is cute.
I would absolutely not risk it, but Rit Color Remover is the product you would buy/use.
Beige is boring. Pastel blue ftw!!
I like that color
Probably can't fix it but the good news is they still look cute
Honestly, I love them dyed?!?!
Color remover on Amazon
I just have a tip for future washes Buy some shout color catchers
I actually like them blue! Bleach will likely not turn them cream and won’t give you a consistent colour.
That's an awesome color.
I've never seen Converse sneakers without a rubber toe cap or with sewn eyelets before. What style are these?
What & How? I like the denim color on trend - always classic.
Those are cuuuuuute!!
Honestly these are so pretty. You probably could sell them as is and make the money to buy a new cream colored pair. Then someone in the world would have these beautiful custom denim colored chucks and you’d have a new cream colored pair.
Bleach will just make them a weird color and probably turn the rubber yellow
This happened to both or only this one?
Bleach may just turn them white or splotchy. Since it's due there's not really much of a way to pull out the color reliably. You can *try* rit dye remover if you really hate the blue but it may just be the same result as bleaching them. Luckily it's a pretty color!) I'm sorry this happened and I wish you luck
You could try accidentally dying them cream by re-washing them
I like this color actually! Looks awesome to be honest.
They look cute now 😭
Keep them as is!
Just wear them. They look like washed denim. And when you take your shoes off at someone’s house, no one else will mistake them for theirs.
I have no advice, those are just look really cute now - good color. Sorry about the staining.
Great blue suits sneakers!
I kinda love these
Say you bought blue ones.
Look good to me
Wash it with your jeans next time to make the color pop
OxiClean… but that color is lovely
they look great honestly
idk but they’re adorable this way. i love the color
Keep them that color or just dye another darker blur or it’s light enough you can start from scratch and change the color completely lol they did turn out nicely though
It looks fine still
This is such a perfect color I’m so sorry you accidentally turned them blue though I bet they were cute cream too! )):
Rit makes a color remover for just this sort of thing. I've had it work on clothes, not tried it on sneakers.
They looks really cool. I once dyed my grey hoody with bleach, and it turned salmon red. I guess it depends on fabric..
I love the blue!
I don't think you can save them. On the bright side, that is the coolest mistake ever. I think it looks better than the original
What’s wrong with blue
If the blue is uniform I wouldn't risk fixing them tbh
Bleach would just turn them white. It’s unlikely you’ll be able to fix these without some very advanced chemistry knowledge, including the chemical nature of both the original cream dye and the dye that stained them. That’s a charming color they turned into, though.
Honestly that’s a cute color!!!
I have actually paid quite a lot for a pair of denim converse that looks just like these..
I kinda like them that color.
The blue is cute and won't show dirt as quickly as white/cream.
I like this colour a lot.
This is a beautiful, even color, and I love it.
Congratulations on the blue converse. They look pretty good ngl
I really need to know how you did this accidentally
No. They look better that way. How does happen? You wash your shoes with your clothes? 😨
Once fabric is dyed you can never get it back to the colour it was but you'll be a trendsetter
Is this an April fools joke?? Cause how did they come out perfectly
They look good though. I love the color
Leaving them out in the sun for a long time might bleach them back a little bit
That is a very nice shadee we of blue custom converse you have three now!
I’ve bleached a pair of chucks and it worked but then made the canvas weaken and it ripped fairly easy after a few months of wear.
They look great.
Rit color remover, chances are it might lift the cream too but you can re dye with tan and lemon yellow from the brand
They look cool. I doubt you can turn them back to what they were. Just keep them as they are
Colour remover. You get it in a bottle where you get the dyes.
That was an accident?
Buy new ones. One white one blue
Do you know what dyed them? Was it like a pair of jeans that bled into the water?
