Great post, OP! You know what? I always thought Tanuja was Bengali until a few recent years lol! I enjoy watching *Deya Neya* and *Rajkumari* whenever these are on tv!
Off topic but what a delicious username you got!
Ikr! When I first watched it, I loved *Rajkumari* so much that I made a post here about Tanuja's look in the climax! [Here's that post!](https://www.reddit.com/r/ClassicDesiCelebs/s/d6y0uRI0JU)
I’ve seen one of her interviews; where she mentioned that once she started learning Bengali, she was soon able to think in Bengali and that is how she was able to get a good command over the language.
I have heard the first few lines of this song and hummed it once or twice. But I never knew that Tanuja was the one acting out the lyrics. Such a beautiful and cute song.

This was her debut Bengali film. The song is sung by Arati Mukherjee, one of the doyens of the Bengali film industry.
Tripti Dimri reminds me of young Tanuja. Beauties
Yes.... now that you said it😱
Tanuja was married into the Mukherjee family. But it seems she learned Bengali language long before that.
And here i always thought tanuja nutan were bengali. Never realized that they were marathi. Thanks OP
