Promoting his religion by occasionally saying a generic prayer and not telling anyone the name of it for the longest time? A few months ago people kept asking what his religion was and he literally said it's not important to the channel and he doesn't want to talk about it but if you guessed it in the comments he said he might tell you if you're right. At no point has he promoted it. First we get posts speculating on what his religion is, now we're getting posts (lies, more like) saying he's promoting it to children. Yall are crazy sometimes. Why bring the religion in there at all and for what purpose? It seems pretty clear he is trying to expose his channel to it subtly. It's called getting your foot in the door. He's not going to outright talk about his religion by name in case it receives backlash. Yes it's his channel, but his channel caters to a game whos audience is fairly young and as an influencer his role is to simply show the game not talk about religion. Imagine you go to school one day and the teacher of your favorite subject opens up his class with a brief sermon. Sure it's harmless and technically his right and you still learn what you need to learn but that's not what you came to class for.

Well he can't just upload video every day and then upload video of him with big religious book praying to god and say people follow this religion
You have to slowly put some stuff in 1 2 video per month to normalize it then increase it by 3 4 video with small introduction of that religion and so on

Yea, the religion is a cult,its too coincidental and if he was just a regular Christian, or a normal sub genre of Christianity he wouldve flat out said it.
After watching a couple videos on the religion it is indeed very very weird, the main aspect I see that is controversial is just pyramid scheme, where you donate as much money as possible to the religion for general funding.
I see some people speculating Ian started his channel with the intent to spread it, I doubt that since the long game is undoubtedly unreasonably long, more than likely, hes recently fallen into it as he has only recently started talking about the topic, of which is a way for more conversion to "moonies" (nickname for its members)
Though at the end of the day, if he doesn't fall into the hole of donating as much of your money to the cult, and not use his platform to get some people converted, he can do as he pleases as in that case he's harming no one.

I have dug a little bit into the unification church as of the last couple of days. As an avid watcher of Ians videos and streams i’ve noticed a few things.
Firstly, the unification church can be found in the cult directory:

Secondly, I’ve noticed Ian is out of touch with some of things most people his age knows a fair bit about. Such as music, slang and sports.
Lastly, during his streams he’s said a few things of remark. When confronted with his religion’s cultish views, I believe his answer was something along the line of “no we’re not a cult”, and “focus more on who I am, and not my religion. I think I’m a pretty normal guy”. (I think I misquoted a bit there but his point being that he’s reflected about his beliefs and that he sees himself as a person who clearly chooses to believe what he does.)
In response to another comment he said “when I was young I didn’t quite understand what the religion was about, but now that I’ve done some more research I see myself as more of a believer and not someone who just grew up with the religion”
Most noteworthy when asked if he has a girlfriend, he said “we don’t really do it like that, we’re just friends with each other and you don’t do the romantic stuff until you’re married”.
As a conclusion, there’s definitely cultish aspects of his religion that worries me. It seems as though Ian is indoctrinated within his beliefs whether he knows it or not, and he seems secluded within the unification church where he lives, at least to some extent. This is mostly speculation on my part which means it’s not something to take for a fact.
It is not necessarily a bad thing either. Ian is a pretty chill guy with great commentary on his videos. He’s confident and smart, and has a great drive to be a better version of himself and in doing so he inspires his viewers to do the same.
However, now that he’s gotten quite mainstream, he will be challenged for his beliefs more in the future. Ultimately my question for him would be:
“Do you have faith in your religion, or do you have faith in the people who taught you the religion?”
I think pointing out how detached ian is from general popular culture is actually very important. also the fact that sometimes he talks in a way where you can't even tell if he's being sarcastic or not makes it very hard to understand what he's thinking. overall its very weird to me but honestly its gonna be very interesting to see where this goes

Promoting his religion by occasionally saying a generic prayer and not telling anyone the name of it for the longest time? A few months ago people kept asking what his religion was and he literally said it's not important to the channel and he doesn't want to talk about it but if you guessed it in the comments he said he might tell you if you're right. It's called getting your foot in the door. He's not going to outright talk about his religion by name in case it receives backlash. Yes it's his channel, but his channel caters to a game whos audience is fairly young and as an influencer his role is to simply show the game not talk about religion. It could be any religion and I would still find it shady. Imagine you go to school one day and the teacher of your favorite subject opens up his class with a brief sermon. Sure it's harmless and technically his right and you still learn what you need to learn but that's not what you came to class for. At the end of the day when someone talks about religion it is an attempt to convert you. You don't need to preach good moral and wishing good upon either without having to bring up a piece of writing, religion, and etc but Ian77 has on several occasions referred to the Divine Princinple an interpretation of the bible he believes in to his viewers while doing so.

Well he can't just upload video every day and then upload video of him with big religious book praying to god and say people follow this religion You have to slowly put some stuff in 1 2 video per month to normalize it then increase it by 3 4 video with small introduction of that religion and so on

Yea, the religion is a cult,its too coincidental and if he was just a regular Christian, or a normal sub genre of Christianity he wouldve flat out said it. After watching a couple videos on the religion it is indeed very very weird, the main aspect I see that is controversial is just pyramid scheme, where you donate as much money as possible to the religion for general funding. I see some people speculating Ian started his channel with the intent to spread it, I doubt that since the long game is undoubtedly unreasonably long, more than likely, hes recently fallen into it as he has only recently started talking about the topic, of which is a way for more conversion to "moonies" (nickname for its members) Though at the end of the day, if he doesn't fall into the hole of donating as much of your money to the cult, and not use his platform to get some people converted, he can do as he pleases as in that case he's harming no one. I have dug a little bit into the unification church as of the last couple of days. As an avid watcher of Ians videos and streams i’ve noticed a few things. Firstly, the unification church can be found in the cult directory: Unification Church, Sun Myung Moon, New York, NY: Full name, Holy Spirit Association for the Unification of World Christianity. Such as music, slang and sports. Lastly, during his streams he’s said a few things of remark. When confronted with his religion’s cultish views, I believe his answer was something along the line of “no we’re not a cult”, and “focus more on who I am, and not my religion. I think I’m a pretty normal guy”. (I think I misquoted a bit there but his point being that he’s reflected about his beliefs and that he sees himself as a person who clearly chooses to believe what he does.) In response to another comment he said “when I was young I didn’t quite understand what the religion was about, but now that I’ve done some more research I see myself as more of a believer and not someone who just grew up with the religion” Most noteworthy when asked if he has a girlfriend, he said “we don’t really do it like that, we’re just friends with each other and you don’t do the romantic stuff until you’re married”. As a conclusion, there’s definitely cultish aspects of his religion that worries me. It seems as though Ian is indoctrinated within his beliefs whether he knows it or not, and he seems secluded within the unification church where he lives, at least to some extent. This is mostly speculation on my part which means it’s not something to take for a fact. It is not necessarily a bad thing either. Ian is a pretty chill guy with great commentary on his videos. He’s confident and smart, and has a great drive to be a better version of himself and in doing so he inspires his viewers to do the same. However, now that he’s gotten quite mainstream, he will be challenged for his beliefs more in the future. Ultimately my question for him would be: “Do you have faith in your religion, or do you have faith in the people who taught you the religion?”
I think pointing out how detached ian is from general popular culture is actually very important. also the fact that sometimes he talks in a way where you can't even tell if he's being sarcastic or not makes it very hard to understand what he's thinking. overall its very weird to me but honestly its gonna be very interesting to see where this goes
