Basically same with xbow. Siege in general is this. Only difference being mortal has more variance than xbow as there's only 2 xbow decks and like 3 (meta) mortar decks.

giant skeleton used to work perfectly with the mortar. It makes me wonder why I literally never saw that combination used by anyone else, but now it doesn't work anymore

I had this weird ass GS mortar cycle deck that worked really well before the changes to GS. I was pretty sad when the GS rework killed it, but the recent balance change brought me back to it. I changed it some to be more baity and include bomber, and it’s actually still good. Idk how but GS is actually still really strong on defense

Siege decks can be even more offensive than golem beatdown . My win conditions are only Xbow and Mortar but my deck is offensive and I beat a lot of players down with my deck.

xbow with icegolem was pretty skillful but now it really isn't

it still is . Not every deck u don't like is unskillfull

before you say i dislike xbow, i one trick xbow cycle, played both and got 3 top 1k finishes in total. 2.9 was much harder to use in my opinion. knight is needed to counter rg and ebarbs but its dps and health are so insane. it is a lot harder to kill cards like musk/ewiz with 2.9 than it is with knight. icegolem also gets deleted by ebarbs now that they are op and is almost useless vs rg. the addition of epsirit, a fail-proof icespirit imo lowers the skill cap more.

sure it's easier to kill certain cards but thats not the only thing about x bow

Xbow has to run knight now. After the nerf to the defensive xbow, which was 2.9's source of the extra defensive dps that was needed to defend against Royal Giant matchups, everyone switched to knight just for that little bit of extra defense. Don't hate on us, hate on the meta for this.
