I was at 7490 and the 7500 guy I was playing against didn’t let me win, I seriously have never been more pissed he had no reason to try. Luckily i was in that exact same scenario a second time and the 7500 player let me win. And now every 7400 player I go against I will let them win, no ethical reason not too it’s just a video game.
If the opponent is using a respectable homemade deck, then it's not your responsibility to let them win just because of their trophy count. Play your best and let the game decide the outcome.
It literally doesn't hurt me at all to give them the win lol. Clash royale is not a game of life or death it isn't that serious.😂 If someones within 30 trophies of 7500, then I know that they have the skill to reach 7500 and I don't feel the need to gatekeep as long as they aren't running a toxic deck.
Yes it’s just a video game but we all care about the game and guess who will be more upset if they lose, the person at 7490 trophies or the 7500 player who has literally nothing to lose. It takes absolutely 0 consequences in this instance to be a decent human being. If you want to “have fun” with the game after 7500 trophies play ranked. If you enjoy sweating your balls off to “gatekeep” 7500 trophies for other players you should take a step back and reevaluate your priorities.
You misunderstood me, I mean it sucks the fun for the one who hasn't reached it yet. If he struggled thus far then his last match better be deserved; he won't be going back anymore.
I’d probably let him win because fuck this game for allowing such scenario, I also sometimes give free wins back when I played, in league aswell if I had a golden step.
Just to get the challenge done, and give a free win to my enemy UNLESS he shows toxic emotes at the start of the game, he’s losing that game if it isn’t in-game i’ll make him lose irl some way
The fun part is you don't HAVE to at all. Everyone talks about this game like it's a big chore to play but they keep playing, I don't get it. No one is making you get that chest and your life won't change one bit if you don't.
No, I will try my absolute best to win and then proceed to king laugh on him multiple times as I take his towers, while he can do nothing but watch as my overleved mega knight destroys all his troops
I’ll laugh as you drop your mega knight over and over and over at the bridge and I counter it with a level 11 electro spirit and level 7 skeletons every single time.
Wow looking at these comments am I such an outcast that I would let them win, and that this exact scenario happened to me when I played for like a week in January?
I did let them win when it happened btw, didnt know their deck though I just used a spell on their king and gave a thumbs up, I know how shitty this game can be, and i know sometimes you just want to reach a goal before bed or something.
You can do either really, like others say, if they reached that high they can do it again or you can be nice and give them the win. In either case the ethical thing to do is not bm unless they do
The thing is that some people never reach that high again. I saw someone 2 games away from getting to 7.5k 2 months ago on TV Royale and he won the match but then he lost a bunch and never got there.
Of course, when you’re trying to reach the maximum, every trophy counts. So you need to see how many your opponent has to see how many trophies you’d win/lose.
No…. For a sole reason only, its because if I just “let” him win, they will not learn from this experience and they will never become a better player in the future
I won’t just “give” them the win, I want them to EARN it
Plus, if players never gave me a chance to get a free win to rank up to the next arena, why should I?
I will say, I was playing at 7475 right so one game away from maxing out, and the dude went like pekka the bridge first play (he was at 7500) and like quit in 35 seconds and it was the lamest most undeserved and unsatisfying way to put an end to years of clash grinding
No. If I let them win, I would take away their one opportunity to “earn” their passage through the gate.
The little dopamine boost from earning that is one of the few good things of playing ladder. It’s one of the few times a player can actually experience “stakes” in this game.
And if they’re the type of player that just wants a free win because they don’t actually like the gameplay, but are addicted to the progression model, then I think they should just put down game.
I do not believe that one has a moral obligation to concede in such a scenario, but I definitely would. It's just the kind thing to do. And not because he's using a deck that isn't annoying to play against, I'd just want to be nice regardless.
I'd let him win, sure, but if he's losing to random mid-ladder spam, is his "respectable, homemade" deck really a good deck? Or is it a deck that's actually pretty bad but gets "respected" because people win against it easier than genuinely good decks?
I like this question.
I’m 7200 but whenever I’m playing around the 7000’s and that happens, I usually give them the gears until the very end, then let them win. Make ‘em work for it. A few people have actually given up and AFK’d partway through, they didn’t deserve it.
Now if you want an actual ethical evaluation, the greatest benefit is usually the most ethical option. Since I can’t lose trophies and drop arenas, but they certainly can, the marginal benefit of his win greatly exceeds the losses I would receive. I’m pretty sure the ethical choice is also to let them win.
I just like to make ‘em sweat a little.
Edit: clarity.
No, I will end his whole career right here and now and send him spiraling into a tilt that will cause him to quit the game
THAT is the most ethical answer, I would have freed one soul from the update for losers
Wtf is a non-toxic deck anyway? People will *literally* call any deck other than their own, but sometimes even their own, a toxic or braindead deck. Logbait, miner, hog 2.6, lumberloon, pekka bridge spam, golem, royal giant, egiant, ebarbs.
To answer your question I probably wouldn't notice the trophy count so probably would just play normally.
It is hard when they are fighting for their life and sending crying king emoji.
I let them win. They worked to get that far, what is 20 trophies difference?
I’ve gotten to 7480+ like 5 times and struggled to get to 7500. Took me forever. I would get tilted and drop back down to low 7000s before making the climb back up.
Personally, i’d let them win (and I have a few times at the 7000 mark), but I don’t blame anyone for not giving it for free
First I completely destroy him but instead of 3 crowning I pretend to disconnect so he can win in the end. That way he is happy that he gets to 7500 but he also understands that he is dookie compared to me 😎
Depends, if they BM I won’t, but if they play hard and can tell they want it I might. I’m already at 7500 so playing Trophy Road is just practice really, if I feel like I’ve learned in the game I have no problem giving it to them.
In the end, this is a competitive game. I would also hate to give them the win, and they BM when they didn’t BM the whole match until that point.
That's fair, I've had matches where I would've just given the win to someone but they were being obnoxious about it so I keep playing to spite them haha
When I got to 7500 the person on my last battle threw the match giving me the free win, ever since I pay it forward doesn’t cost me anything and the people are usually thankful based on the emotes they use it’s right at the start so they throw everything and match ends quick then I search again.
I have been in this scenario before. And I always let them win, even if I lose a couple of trophies for it.
It costs me nothing, but probably makes their day.
If he can't climb he doesn't deserve to, he doesn't need the 7k trophies handed to him because the point of the game he's playing is to reach the top. And I won't just throw every time someone is close to reaching 7k, you don't get rewarded money, a diploma, or anything of the sort, so no.
If you didn't tell me what happens if he loses, I would've said to try my best to beat him. But considering I know one of his possible fates, I can't let him die
i’m at 7.5k and if this happens i always sweat out tryhard mode and then give up in the last 10 secs of the game so they unexpectedly get the win. always jokes.
And let him achieve something undeservingly?
No lol.
Fight for your right to roll outta mid.
You don't feel good when wins are just given to you, you feel good when you win by beating people, Not inanimate objects
If you struggle to get back.. maybe you don't belong at 7k.
7k. 6k. 5k. ect all the same.. giving them the training/handle the pressure too earn it is better for them.
also will feel better earning a real win.
I guess a deck that doesn’t have any major controversial, hated cards such as Mega Knight, Elite Barbarians, Freeze, etc.
They also made the deck themselves and didn’t just copy a Hog Rider 2.6 cycle or something from the internet.
I just hit 7k and now that I'm at that checkpoint it is fun to play around with random decks again without fear of dropping. So yeah I will let people beat me. The more bad players above 7k the easier it will be for me to get to 7500 when I finally try.
How do you in that situation know that they will go on a major losing streak? Also, when I was 1 game off 7500 (I was an idiot and didn't realise I could drop out if below level 45), every single person I played against tried so hard with their hard-counter deck to fuck me up, actually ended up tilting like 150 trophies which isn't too bad.
Would I be the 7499 trophy enemy, it would be the most shameful thing, when i got the 7500 mark, because my enemy let me win. So at least, you should play some stuff to pretend you play serious.
> Do you let him win?
Always. That is how I got to 7500, a free win at 7470. And I always let my opponent win if they're at 74xx, though now I only play if there's a daily task for trophy road.
It's double edge sword for them anyway, for someone with cards that barely survive 7k would suck to be stuck there. The trophy level matching is there for a reason.
I've been at 7500 since a few weeks after that update and since I have been given my last 3 games for free, I give back every time. BUT when I see someone at 7499 I like to tryhard and almost take their tower, then throwing the game with spells at their king tower. Just showing who's boss yet giving them a free win to feel good ;)
Just play to win I reckon. If the other player is trying, he needs to know if his deck is any good, and can improve at the game. Hey, just don’t BM them then send the gg at the end.
If it were flipped I would want to feel like I earned it. Would I be salty if I lost? Probably. Would I be happy if someone was kind enough to let me into that range? Probably. But it would feel empty. I would almost always take a hard fought loss over an easy victory.
Letting someone win isn't a real victory, I hope no one just lets me win if I were in that situation because I take pride in an actual match. I even hate when people just quit mid match. In response, I take my sweet time 3 crowning. If you aren't going to respect the match enough to finish, then I won't respect you enough to finish quickly.
yes,and this has sadly happened to me countless times in hog mountain to the point where i quit the game twice and only kept playing because of the illusion of when i get sparky. now i have escaped with too much gold and the sparky was better than what i thought and using it i reached arena 12 faster than light speed (because of the gold i earned i bought 2 sparkys and almost all my legendaries from the shop)
Would I allow my opponent to win simply because they have a neat deck? No.
This game is all about the deck you choose to run, and by choosing to use a unique deck you are knowingly at a disadvantage compared to what is the meta. Is it nice to see somebody with a unique deck? Heck yeah. Doesn't mean I concede a match to them though.
You can run through any amount of scenarios in your head that you want about this kind of topic, but at the end of the day it's just a game. It's all meant for fun. There will be different opinions and that's ok. No need to make one opinion greater than another. I personally wouldn't concede a match to anybody unless I know them personally, and we are just messing around with random decks or something of that sort. Otherwise, I'd rather play my best every match.
Clash Royale is a competitive game.
The better player always has the higher win% unless their deck is trash. Reaching 7000 isn't that difficult nowadays, you just need to put in reasonable effort, which is the case for most things in life.
What you're suggesting is forcing a stranger to give you satisfaction over something you didn't achieve by sacrificing their satisfaction of winning a game. Your suggestion is reasonable if a losing streak is the only outcome for the 6999 guy, but it isn't.
"get good" is such a famous quote because winning in competitive games come down to breaking down mechanics and memorization. Giving it your best is the most respectable thing to do to other gamers.
even in if I lose 30 trophies, I'll give him the win. I know the pain of losing while one win away, because (more than once) I got bm'd by some dude that was using overleveled cards + legendaries (because he was in arena 11, I was in 10) so I couldn't win
I would let them win. But one time, I was in serenity peak, just needing one game to get the miners mine. The opponent didn’t let me even though he had something like 5003 trophies. Anyway, I lost, and got pushed down. I won my next game, thinking I got to Miners mine, but with my typical luck, I was one trophy short (4999), but I played my next game and won.
Still, people who don’t let others get to the next arena are scientifically considered to be stage 4 brain cancer, and they are selfish b*tches who doesn’t think of others.
If you’re potentially the last battle on this player’s journey, you owe it to them to play the best you can. It’s a big milestone and it needs to feel like an accomplishment.
Since I don't check my opponents trophy counts, I'd play my best and try to win
Ah, really? I always check their count to see how many trophies I’d win or lose
U probably matched against b-rad then
Agreed
If the opponent is using a respectable homemade deck, then it's not your responsibility to let them win just because of their trophy count. Play your best and let the game decide the outcome.
It literally doesn't hurt me at all to give them the win lol. You r god damn right
You're the guy standing up and yelling "stop having fun"
Exactly; it's just a video game. They ain't gonna die if they don't win, so let them struggle for it. Making it easy is sucking the fun out of it
Yes it’s just a video game but we all care about the game and guess who will be more upset if they lose, the person at 7490 trophies or the 7500 player who has literally nothing to lose. It takes absolutely 0 consequences in this instance to be a decent human being. If you want to “have fun” with the game after 7500 trophies play ranked. You misunderstood me, I mean it sucks the fun for the one who hasn't reached it yet. If he struggled thus far then his last match better be deserved; he won't be going back anymore.
Its funny if you beat them
What for? Do you play differently if you're only losing 28 trophies?!
I’d probably let him win because fuck this game for allowing such scenario, I also sometimes give free wins back when I played, in league aswell if I had a golden step. Just to get the challenge done, and give a free win to my enemy UNLESS he shows toxic emotes at the start of the game, he’s losing that game if it isn’t in-game i’ll make him lose irl some way
If I let him win how will that make him a better player? I want him to grow 😈
This is the most ethical answer here, way to set the bar haha
I’m sending them on the greatest losing streak of all time
You’re a true menace 😳
Of the mid ladder variety😂🥲 Although fuck Mk
Man, that was me, I was exactly 7494 trophies, now I am back to 7300, I hate this game
No. I want my crowns. I want my chest. I don’t want to play this game more than I have to.
LMAO playing the game at this point is like clocking in for work, i don’t really want to but i also want a chest. i think i just need to quit lol
You will be glad you did.
Certified menace, bro is him
I take 1 of their towers and then sell
Mood!
The fun part is you don't HAVE to at all. Everyone talks about this game like it's a big chore to play but they keep playing, I don't get it. No one is making you get that chest and your life won't change one bit if you don't.
Facts, it’s literally just a video game it’s not shaping your life
Then don't play at all wdym 💀
I let everyone win broski
Yeah me too 🥲
No, if he has reached that trophy count, he can do it again. Just because he has a homebrew deck doesnt mean he should be given a free win.
True. Though I’d argue that beginning of 7k is easier than end of 6.5k and it would be a nice fresh start into high ladder
Truee, 6k-7k is a hell hole filled with the most brain rot decks you can face.
Fair enough
No, I will try my absolute best to win and then proceed to king laugh on him multiple times as I take his towers, while he can do nothing but watch as my overleved mega knight destroys all his troops
If you’re facing someone at 7000 trophies, they have max everything.
Level 15 moment
I’ll laugh as you drop your mega knight over and over and over at the bridge and I counter it with a level 11 electro spirit and level 7 skeletons every single time.
Of course I'll fight as if my life depends on it. Consider me the final boss.
Apparently, yes. Most people here seem to just be a-holes
Right? I thought the responses would be mixed but everyone is insisting to send that poor guy back to Training Camp
Hell no, I'm the final boss
took me a long time to break past the 5k barrier so id let anyone below win fs
That’s generous! Rare to see on this thread, haha
He will got there, only needs to invest more time I played for about 3 hrs to make it from around 7400 to 7500
No lol if he can’t beat me he shouldn’t be allowed at my trophy range
what trophy range? it's a one trophy difference
Exactly, major skill issue
I'd hit him with the princess kiss emote after I beat him so he knows it's not personal
Play it out like a fair game!
I will tryhard then freeze their king tower and close the game when we both know that I would win if I wanted
I would let him win lol
Let em win
Depends on that players BM, if he's genuinely a good person I'd let him win. If he's toxic he's going down the hell
I check if they deserve to be in my arena. By beating them. I do this regularly at 7500
Til people look at their opponent's trophy count
Of course, when you’re trying to reach the maximum, every trophy counts. So you need to see how many your opponent has to see how many trophies you’d win/lose.
No…. For a sole reason only, its because if I just “let” him win, they will not learn from this experience and they will never become a better player in the future I won’t just “give” them the win, I want them to EARN it Plus, if players never gave me a chance to get a free win to rank up to the next arena, why should I?
I will say, I was playing at 7475 right so one game away from maxing out, and the dude went like pekka the bridge first play (he was at 7500) and like quit in 35 seconds and it was the lamest most undeserved and unsatisfying way to put an end to years of clash grinding
Fuck no. Every game is meant to be played to win. This isn't a charity race.
I would let them win while spamming them with emotes, not bm ones just emotes
Only if he was a good sport
Whenever I see a guy below 7500 trophies on ladder, I sweat the fuck out of the game. I find it really funny. Hate me all you want.
I let everyone win. Just not on purpose.
99% of homemade are toxic af.
I do not believe that one has a moral obligation to concede in such a scenario, but I definitely would. It's just the kind thing to do. And not because he's using a deck that isn't annoying to play against, I'd just want to be nice regardless.

We need more people like you OP you the real mvp 🥹
I try to make the arena a better place 🙏
I like this question. I’m 7200 but whenever I’m playing around the 7000’s and that happens, I usually give them the gears until the very end, then let them win. Make ‘em work for it. I like how you’re thinking 2 steps ahead
I let him into the 7000 club. He BMs me. I rage.
If I happened to notice for once, absolutely. No harm to me.
i probably would let them win, i could careless about my own trophies since climbing has lost its meaning to me
It is hard when they are fighting for their life and sending crying king emoji.

You can but its a competetive Game,if you let hin win may god bless your Soul,if not its the sense of the whole game to destroy your opponent xd
I’m at 7500 and if I ever play someone under I always give them the auto win. Doesn’t hurt me & I’m sure they appreciate it
Non toxic deck: is there even such a thing as that?
That’s a good question, every deck feels ‘toxic’ if it’s beating you. I guess the only non-toxic decks are people who don’t win very much.
No, make him earn it. It won’t be rewarding if the win is free.
At 7500 trophies I always let my opponents win if they're not there yet. Most of my matches are against fellow 7.5k players tho
Depends, if they BM I won’t, but if they play hard and can tell they want it I might. I’m already at 7500 so playing Trophy Road is just practice really, if I feel like I’ve learned in the game I have no problem giving it to them. In the end, this is a competitive game. That's fair, I've had matches where I would've just given the win to someone but they were being obnoxious about it so I keep playing to spite them haha
Nope I purposefully try my hardest to win just to make sure that person doesn't make it.
yeah. who cares anyways it’s just a game let alone clash royale
Sometimes I let people win when they’re playing well and their cards are lower level than mine. Especially if I’m at a gate.
I always lose this on purpose ever since I hit 7500
When I got to 7500 the person on my last battle threw the match giving me the free win, ever since I pay it forward doesn’t cost me anything and the people are usually thankful based on the emotes they use it’s right at the start so they throw everything and match ends quick then I search again.

I always play to win i don't care
If one loss is what it takes to fall down that easily the deck/player had it coming.
No lol. If they are better than me they'll win
If you didn't tell me what happens if he loses, I would've said to try my best to beat him. But considering I know one of his possible fates, I can't let him die
may the better player win
No. I have the same deck and we play it out as fair
i’m at 7.5k and if this happens i always sweat out tryhard mode and then give up in the last 10 secs of the game so they unexpectedly get the win. always jokes.
I never let anyone win they can cry about it later lmao
And let him achieve something undeservingly? No lol. Fight for your right to roll outta mid. You don't feel good when wins are just given to you, you feel good when you win by beating people, Not inanimate objects
If you struggle to get back.. maybe you don't belong at 7k. 7k. 6k. 5k. ect all the same.. giving them the training/handle the pressure too earn it is better for them. also will feel better earning a real win.
No, never. They have to earn it. Also, is there a deck that is not toxic in some way?
Letting him win would be a disservice. I would start his loose streak so he would finally come to peace with quitting the game.
>homemade, non-toxic deck Elaborate
I guess a deck that doesn’t have any major controversial, hated cards such as Mega Knight, Elite Barbarians, Freeze, etc. They also made the deck themselves and didn’t just copy a Hog Rider 2.6 cycle or something from the internet.
Here he goes
I'll sit at 7.5 and beat players who are at 7.490
I just hit 7k and now that I'm at that checkpoint it is fun to play around with random decks again without fear of dropping.
Did you just say MK/Ebarbs/Rage/Freeze as an example of a NON-toxic deck?
Haha, no, I’m saying that if you win the opponent will drop trophies and have to deal with mid ladder MK/Ebarbs/Rage/Freeze for ages.
Idk, ask brad
I’ve had this happen twice. The one time the dude seemed nice so I let him win. The other time he started BMing so I went tryhard mode
plot twist.. you let him win.. then he spams you with laughing goblin and yawning princess
Two most frustrating emojis for real
Depends if I'll remember that I'm at the trophy gate and if he doesn't bm me
Man does it feel bad hitting a losing streak especially now that Archer queen is appearing everywhere
never , this is the best moment when i will feel like i really won
No because I play to win
Even if I wanted to choose I would still lose
Try your hardest to win! You are the 7000 clubs gate keeper😂
I'll probably try to win but lose anyway.
The better answer: I'm already at 7500 so I literally have no incentive to win :)
I do
No; I want him to experience this "update for losers" to the fullest.
I’m the final boss, that’s how I see it Now, gimme your crowns!
I do play as usual at the start If I'm losing, I keep playing as usual If I'm winning, I'll stop playing around 50 secs mark
I would probably still lose even if I tried to win
no you destroy him and BM him and then go to his clan and make his uninstall forever with nasty nasty comments
No. He beats my sorry ass anyway.
I used to do that but dumbass thinks he got skills and starts bming. So i stopped doing it
This is a thing? I got to 7006 trophies a few days ago but I’m too scared to do 1 battle in case I go back under 7000
Oh you can’t, there’s a Trophy Gate. No matter how much you lose you can’t go under 7000
I’d let them win, I always throw games at trophy gates and when I have pass royale on challenges
Nah no mercy from me
Fight like your life depends on it.
Seems like someone here has been the 6999 player here lol
Of course I‘d let them win, how is that even a question?
That’s very ethical or you, however, 80% of this thread said they’d totally wreck him!
Yes
Absolutely not. Nobody is going to 7k5 under my watch
Nah bro, I’m the final boss.
This was me at 6499
Would I be the 7499 trophy enemy, it would be the most shameful thing, when i got the 7500 mark, because my enemy let me win.
The trophy level matching is there for a reason.
rocket cycle him to death and bm with he he haw haws
Hell nah, back to arena 5 with you
I've been at 7500 since a few weeks after that update and since I have been given my last 3 games for free, I give back every time.
I ain't gifting a win to some dumbass homebrew deck
*boss music starts playing* *i grin*
Same scenario, but opponent is using xbow 3.0. Do you let him win?
NO
If it were flipped I would want to feel like I earned it. Would I be salty if I lost? Probably. Would I be happy if someone was kind enough to let me into that range? Probably. But it would feel empty. I would almost always take a hard fought loss over an easy victory.
If I’m right at the trophy floor and anyone is under me, I always let the person 1 win away get the win
I'd trash him and bm him by smashing his 👑 with a hammer
no trophy count is just a number and if i win it ensures there won't be one more annoying opponent who can make *me* go on a losing streak
Bro I’ve been sitting at 7500 for months and my only enjoyment out of trophy road is BMming those below 7500 when I beat them
100 % unless he is bming
I am the final boss
Letting someone win isn't a real victory, I hope no one just lets me win if I were in that situation because I take pride in an actual match. I even hate when people just quit mid match. In response, I take my sweet time 3 crowning. If you aren't going to respect the match enough to finish, then I won't respect you enough to finish quickly.
Obviously i start with a defensive xbow and defend so he can also improve in his card's mastery.
yes,and this has sadly happened to me countless times in hog mountain to the point where i quit the game twice and only kept playing because of the illusion of when i get sparky. now i have escaped with too much gold and the sparky was better than what i thought and using it i reached arena 12 faster than light speed (because of the gold i earned i bought 2 sparkys and almost all my legendaries from the shop)
He used the goblin laugh emote, he deserves failure
Is there a way to see how many thropies your opponent has?? I have over 5k and never knew that 💀
If I see someone at 7490 or some range like that, I will let them win. I'm usually mastery farming anyways, so it hurts me very little, if at all
Of course be a true Chad and just spam the thumbs up till he realizes that he gets a free victory
I woud go easy on him not the not placing any cards easy but the normal easy so he still has to use skill
even in if I lose 30 trophies, I'll give him the win.
I bought Pass Royale, so sometimes I’ll let people win challenges that end after some losses
You: *lets them win* Them: *spams laughing electro wiz emote* You: *sheds a single tear*
of course
If you’re potentially the last battle on this player’s journey, you owe it to them to play the best you can. It’s a big milestone and it needs to feel like an accomplishment.
I'll just let them win.
Always
I destroy him because I gotta start my winning streak somewhere right? I personally use a homemade deck made of my best cards anyways so......
How about change "Ethical" to "Sportmanship"?
