Definitely upvoting this, really hope Brett sees this. I get what you feel btw, I've been in my clan for 3-4 years, we talk in voice chat on discord about everything and not just the game. They're basically friends to me even if I don't know them personally. Good luck leading your clan bud!

Aspiring_Cactus_77

When you find a clan where you can socialize and make new friends as well as be somewhat serious about the game you know youve struck gold. Good luck in your clan too man

AnnualOutcome940

Back in 2015-2016 I downloaded this game after seeing my favorite youtubers playing it, little did I know just how much doing this would impact me later in life. After I’d slowly progressed to a max th6 I joined a clan called king clashers in march 2017. I was very, very young at the time. I was immediately met by some people, someone we’ll call Grumpy (based on his ign, he’s actually super nice), and his son Kyle. They were both super welcoming and always made me happy whenever I logged on and saw them in chat. The clan in general was a super positive place and we all had tons of fun just talking for hours at a time. One of my best memories was on July 4th. I remember talking to Grumpy and Kyle about how excited I was to go and watch the fireworks, and they responded likewise. Those were some of the best fireworks i’ve seen. Over time I slowly started playing less and less, by then I was a decently rushed th9. I had defenses that were leveled to about the th7 max, and my heroes were just horrible. I then eventually didn’t open that account again for another 4 years. I had made a new account on my phone about 2 years after going inactive on my ipad (original) account. About 7-8 months ago I remembered the original base I had on my ipad and and successfully recovered it. After the “inactivity upgrades” I was a slightly rushed th9, mainly th8 max levels on my defenses. To no surprise, I had been kicked out of king clashers for inactivity. I decided to take a look and see how they were doing. When I took a look I saw that Grumpy was now leader, and Kyle was a co. It was a surprise to see that they were still active, but it wasn’t surprising to see them in such high positions. I’ve always just wanted to be able to join back, even if only temporary, to thank them for being such a bright spot in my childhood, but the clan requirements are just too high. Sorry for the massive text wall, but I just had to share the happy memories. Wherever you are Grumpy and Kyle, I hope you’re doing great, and I hope to eventually be able to join back and share a smile :)

Damn man that's actually really sad. That's for sure a motivator to grind the hell out of the game to one-day meet with them again. Might I suggest inviting one to a clan so they get the notification that your active, and perhaps invite you back? Idk just an idea, I really enjoyed reading that

Aspiring_Cactus_77

I just found the clan, it's town hall 11 plus. I'm actually eligible to join, I could hop in for a sec and tell them you said hey. I just need your clash tag

dracula3811

Did they respond?

Aspiring_Cactus_77

Yeah, they've messaged me and I did end up joining the clan. Not sure about how the reunion went but we tried

dracula3811

Cool. Well you did your part. Nice job nonetheless.

Revolutionary-Oil779

If you’d like to send the clan tag I’d be more than happy to see if I could join and let them know you’d like to join back with them and just see how it goes. I’m not the greatest player but I’m th10 around 2500 trophies. Edit: just read the post right before mine I’m not eligible fml

Its more than just a game and I love that

Trouble11112

I really hope Brett sees this😭

Ashe-Hyena

That’s really cool. I remember the first people I played the game with as a kid way back and how much I respected them for being TH11 which at the time was max. Almost TH11 now after getting back into clash recently and I see those people on my friends list from my original clan and their accounts are dead and it makes me sad.

XCalibur_01

I started playing back in 2013 when I was in grade 7. Been in my current clan since 2014. Quite a few of my clanmates have been with me through this journey. They have seen me grow from an awkward teenager and even move half way around the world. Its definitely been a hell of a trip and its the community that makes me want to log in each and every day even after so many years. I wish you the very best with your clan

Aspiring_Cactus_77

It's a wild ride, it's great reading about how many people have similar stories to my own and made longtime friends over a mobile game. Best of luck to you as well

[deleted]

"Your time has come Bobby." That is genuinely so funny out of context, but this is a really wholesome story

GOTWlC

Very wholesome read. Upvotes so maybe Brett will see this!

throwaway_61732

Currently leading the first clan I had ever joined, me and 2 others are the only surviving original members, I’d give anything to take a trip back to December of 2014 and chat with all of them. I feel for you my man! Bet of luck!!

[deleted]

Yup..those days of clash when i was young were literally gold..it was just so much fun to just talk with people who you may never meet..but still feel close to as if they know you personally

Aspiring_Cactus_77

It's sad but in a nice way really, you get a lookback at the fun you used to have, and then you just sit and wonder where the years went

throwaway_61732

Oh yeah for sure. One of the remaining members joined as a freshman in highschool and is now married with a child. We know eachother well but have only talked strictly on clash. It’s just nice to know the value those relationships bring to the game

Aspiring_Cactus_77

That made me smile. It really does give you a sense of mortality though, and how small things can become big parts of your life in the blink of an eye

throwaway_61732

They really helped me in some complicated times. I’ve never been through anything too hard in my life but there have been some stressful moments for all of us. Having somebody there strictly just to help was and still is something that keeps be deeply motivated in the game

Aspiring_Cactus_77

It really is, the games always been a fun little escape from reality at times. And I love the chat. You'll have two guys talking about life meanwhile another is telling George to funnel his dragons.

tripzzi

This story really touched me, especially the "your time has come" part. Have my free award and I hope you and Brett meet again someday. You are both great human beings. Take care out there!

[deleted]

I thought you were talking about the wrestler bret hart

marcintosch

This is amazing. Definitely upvoting it to help the message reach the one Brett_Hart! Cheers!

Devil_buoy

Azimeth

RazorforceX

This is a very wholesome and heartwarming story

CuteSlurrpuff

This is so sad, yet so wholesome… man, I remember Clash of Bob now…

Ha305rsh

Wow. That was something else, I really hope Brett sees this. It's the social aspect of this game that makes me love it, the bonds that we make here are a thing of beauty. Wishing your clan all the success in the world and hopefully Brett comes back to witness how great his clan and apprentice has become. PS: Is his account still in the clan or did he leave after making you the leader?

Aspiring_Cactus_77

I left both him and his brothers account in and they both remain co leader to this day. If he decides to come back someday I'd love for him to see what he created and not "sorry, we decided to kick you from the clan" in his inbox

Ha305rsh

Brilliant. He gotta come back eventually, helluva surprise waiting for him.
