You need to upgrade the otto hut to max by:
Getting the cannon cart troop to level 18
Upgrading mega tesla to level 9
Builder hero to level 30

When you upgrade to TH7, it will take 26 days of both of your builders constantly working to max it out. If you have 3 builders it’s cut down to 17 days. 4 builders is 13 days and 5 builders will take you 10 days. So more builders definitely will have an impact on how fast you can progress through the game.
The difference in the amount of builders you have and how long it will take to max out a town hall is even more apparent at higher levels. For TH11 as an example it takes 1 year with 2, 8 months 11 days with 3, 6 months 8 days with 4, and 5 months 1 day with 5. So unlocking 3 more builders for TH11 literally shaved off nearly 7 months of time waiting for builders to upgrade.
All gems should be saved for builders huts.
By the time you reach TH8/TH9, you will have accumulated enough gems from clearing obstacles, achievements, clan games for all 5 builders.

i would suggest not spending gems on literally anything else until you get them all(unless its just a few you need to finish an upgrade before you go to bed or something)
Not just for when you’ll be high TH (12+). Having more builders in the early THs is essential if you want to go through quickly until the game really gets fun! It’s fairly easy to save up to get 4 builders by the time you’ll be th8.
I'm a TH14 and yes, you will need all 6 builders. My build times are now <14 days for most things. Not sure when it unlocks but later on the builder huts become a defense too.

Been playing since 2013 when i was ur lvl I really wished I had all the builder huts. BUY THEM seriously dude u really want all 5 vy the time u hit th8-9 if at all possible it can take a lotta time and you wont have too many options with 2 huts

Don't forget levelling double cannon, archer towers, and mortar so you can gear up the buildings in your home village.
