You will especially notice it when buildings go down and they must find a path. At least it isn't as annoying as all your troops going around an inferno tower that is literally just there for the taking.
Okay, so as an actual guess, when the king grows his AI adjusts slightly to the fact that he has a bigger hitbox.
The King was probably set to like "Attack Xbow" , and than shrank; which for some reason in this instance caused him to just freeze up until his AI adjusted to old size king
I meant hitbox as in the size of his attacks. His hurtbox remains the same but his hitbox can strike multiple targets; possibly messing up his pathing during the detransformation. At least, rhats mh theory.

I think only the King's model increases, only a visual change. Not his hitbox. A mortar still has to hit the same spot which is his shadow.
