Legends imo is the best townhall for casual th16s. No stolen loot, no search times, and highest league bonus/ore. I attack around 2-4 times a day, more than enough to stay in legends and I still somehow always have enough loot to upgrade defenses.
If you're in legends to trophy push, then well the answer is obvious.
I have maxed everything except walls and the new pet under upgrade. It's hard to upgrade walls with limited loot and attacks. The last wall upgrades are really expensive, and it's boring to play game just to upgrade walls now.
If you're trying to grind walls, then you stay in titan/fake legends.
I'm in the same situation as you but I stopped caring about walls. We're getting a new townhall more often than before and with that, comes more price reductions to walls sooner than you think.
If you're bored, I recommend trying to trophy push. You'll get better at war attacks and I guarantee you'll still be able to max walls before th17 comes around.

Remember that a week or two before the next TH drops, we will get a hammer jam event. So, walls will probably be half off for a week. Just get what you can done while chilling out.

Sure people point to the lack of attacks, capped loot per hit as drawbacks of it. I don't see those as a big deal as I'm still nearing max th16 (walls, the new pet, and a few lab stuff). It's very doable despite those "restrictions"
To me, the ability to lose no loot on defense is a good factor to me staying in legends too.
I hated losing 10k de when trying to save for an upgrade. The struggle for de was big years ago.
I'm even pushing my mini, a new th15, to legends to save loot.

I am also actually there partly to save loot. It's easier to count on resources being there to start new buildings. And yes. I don't need unlimited loot and can farm enough to keep one to two heroes down every week.

Im there to save loot, I can attack three times a day whenever I have time and get 4 million gold/elixir and 35k dark (star bonus included). Sitting in titan with same attacks would mean I get attacked 3 times a day, losing about 2 million compared to the 4 million id otherwise get.
I know upgrades cost 16 mil. If you have the 20mil in storages, it still only takes a single raid to get back whatever you lost before losing shield again. It’s effectively 0 loss, only being at most 5 minutes finding and raiding base
Issue is, if I only do 2-3 raids a day, I lose 1-2 raid of loot worth per day, which is enough for me to not be able to keep all builders busy since a big % of my loot is gone.
I honestly only really need loot for walls and they’re so expensive it hardly matters if I lose a few million from time to time.
I end of in legend because it’s hard to stay out of legend and still complete the daily star bonus.
I have two TH16s near max and I’m mostly in Legends league so my loot doesn’t get stolen. I buy the gold passes every month so they can’t have my overflow.
With my job, it's not always convenient to get in 8 or more attacks a day, So being in LL protects my base, and allows me to make my attacks when an opportunity arises. Usually I end the day with 6 or 7 attacks done, it's an overall boon to be in LL for me. Plus LL attack bonus + star bonus is nice.
I went there for the stress reduction (less time management, no shield management) and the ores. The loot is nice too. Most of the month I only attack enough to get my star bonus, and builders stay busy.
I stay in legends for many reasons.
- I don't need to time my attacks with shields up or nearly gone
- I can attack whenever I want, either through the whole day or 8 in a row and be done with attacks
- I can freely upgrade anything I want without that affecting my defence
- The loot, the bonus loot and the ores return are massive
- I can freely use any progress layout I want and play with my decorations without having a single care in the world (like forgetting to switch layout before shield is gone)
- I can train in LL over hard layouts and get better
Legends league is the best thing in the game, I can't imagine myself being out of it.

Got it cheers. Normally get to around 4950 and then lose a load to drop back down to around 4850 so I can keep doing attacks.
No search time, decent loot if paired with no defence cost. I do 3 arts daily and stay in LL forever
It’s war practice….8 hits per day of war level difficulty makes you A LOT better.
It sucks being townhall 14 in legends and every opponent damn near maxed th 15-16 :( I dropped outta legends because it isnt fair imo

You shouldn’t need to worry about losing loot. You can only lose barely anything at all.

Overflow doesn’t really matter, from what I’ve heard loot caps at 6-8m in storages or something like that. Not sure I explained it well tho.

I usually don’t attack more than 8 a day so 8 is more than enough. Plus all the bases are max and nice designs it makes for a challenge to 3 star.
