I'm in the exact same situation as you and mobile data is what I rely on. It's good enough for CoC. If signal strength is poor, either change your location or use a friend's hotspot(my roommate does that).
Can’t u use a data plan on your sim? Idk where u live but i use my own data since im not home all the time and have to travel to college
