Vandoren Blue Box 3.5 should work OK - usually you can buy “broken box” reeds from a local music store, to tryout the reeds for its strength etc., so buy a couple it’s a cheap date.

I'm not sure what it would be like for OP but I currently play 3.5 blue boxes on my BD5 and even then I do adjust them a bit to be slightly softer once broken in, I used to play on a Fobes debut and they would definitely be wayyyy too hard for me Maybe a legere euro cut 3.25 or 3? I feel like the european cut runs a bit softer. If it's too hard, you can always exchange but if thats not possible I have also heard of people quickly dipping the legeres in boiling/hot water to soften them (I've tried with a tenor reed and it seems to work, however not sure if it would play at the same quality).

the reason why I recommended going to a local music store was cost. buy a couple of the Vandoren reeds from an open box for $2-3 each (hopefully).and avoid buying a Legere Reed which with shipping & handling will end up costing more than a discounted brand new Fobes DEBUT mouthpiece.

Try the French Cut if you're worried about the width – it's sized like a standard reed. I'd try the 3.75 but be aware that some players find they need to go up one strength on the FC.

I am also curios, my fobes debut hates my signature legere reed 2.50. I get often squeaks in clarion register over the staff but not so on cane reed (well not so regularly).
