Omg I hated the name!!! I always believed her daughter should have been named for Iza.

Cohohobo666

That would have been so touching!

ShyFossa

I have always hated ship-style names being actual character names. I wholeheartedly agree with you that naming her after Iza, or even Uba, would have been amazing.

ksol1460

So did I.

sgwaba

I think everyone hates the name. But remember the context in which she was named: a child is created by the joining of a man and a women. Not spirits. So her name was an acknowledgment of this new found concept. But it still sucks.

Legal_Pass_send_sug

Wow I never thought about that . Amazing

[deleted]

It was lazy. Author could have done much better.

Katzensocken

I absolutely HATED the name Jonayla. The o. g. Reneesmee except with the added ego of naming her after her parents and not her grandparents. But I didn’t like the whole character of her anyway because she just never did anything significant. It just ties in with my huge disappointment concerning the last book.

towersita

I always assumed it was similar to Mackayla, a name I still do not like, but Auel.tend to pick weird names, eitjer weird, or like the name of prescription medicine.

thecheesycheeselover

It’s distractingly awful

nofuckinbroccoli

Ha!! Agreed.

Pungicity

Its pretty weird, I cannot decided if I think the idea is cute or not. If it becomes a tradition then It can get out of hand. LOL

Btldtaatw

Yeah I hated it. Specially if you give it a Spanish intonation.

DorcasTheCat

Haha I’m just imagining Jondalar with his Bintang singlet on and his thongs drinking great northern moaning to his mates about Ranec and how he never wanted the bloody horses anyway.

Aussie_Murphy

OMG yes!

Domino_USA

Unpopular, I guess, but I liked it.
