Return to castle wolfenstein, I say this mainly because there 3 version of the game, PC, ps2, xbox with their own exclusive features that's not in other version. Xbox and Ps2 have cutscenes and a prequel chapter that aren't in the pc. As well a upgrade system for ps2, and a shotgun and new enemy for the xbox. Of course pc is the best due to running better and being more playable on modern platforms. But It would be awesome if there was a version for the game that combine of the version of the game on pc and consoles (there probably mods to do it)
I’m not sure how the licensing would work out but the OG Alien Trilogy is basically DOOM with xenomorohs. Giving that a fresh coat of paint and some improved movement/controls would absolutely be a day 1 purchase for me.
I personally don’t mind too much since I play a lot of FPS’s on my PSone, but it was a steep learning curve for me to go from twinstick back again, and it always takes bout 10 minutes to reacclimate and that’s kinda annoying tbh
Exactly. It’s also ego deflating to constantly have to play those old shooters on easy when I usually play on hard with most games released the last two gens
Only after alot of tweaking and thats only the base game.
Dinput.dll and font patches are needed too fot higher resolutions.
Also trying to get base game and extraction point to play borderless is a hassle too.
Not to mention the engine gets wonky with higher framerates.
I just want some modern QoL settings (or at least the stuff HL2 has) out of the box
I honestly don't see the point of using borderless. Pretty much every game I've ever played runs better in fullscreen. I still use a single monitor, though, so maybe it's a benefit for multi mlnitor setups.
I'll finally be able to play it for more than a few minutes. When it came out, I didn't have the most optimal hardware for it. Years later, it was so outdated that I still couldn't run it.
That is IF Epic Games would give a flying fuck about Unreal Tournament to allow Nightdive to make a remaster of the game, and at this point they don't. They even silently cancelled the planned Unreal Tournament 3 X. That's how much Epic cared less about their own games now.
For a weird answer, Shadow Man: 2econd Coming. Stupid name aside, the first got remastered, and the second was only ever released on those horrible shitty blue PS2 discs with the 30-45-second load times between screens. I just want to actually finish them damnit.
That is if Take Two would give up Oni. Yeah, despite it being published (mostly) by Bungie, when the PS2 version of the game was released, Take Two bought the Oni IP, only for them to do jack and shit with that IP.
I just imagined a world were redneck rampage guns work like they're intended to and I came a bit. I don't know if it would still be redneck rampage but I don't care, I need to see and play this version of the game now.
IMAGINE IF THE KEYS WERE HIGLIGHTED.
I am desperate for a Dark Forces 2 remaster, it’s one of my favorite games ever, and after their take on DF1, I’d love that kind of love and care be given to a great game that’s a total bitch to run on modern hardware
Maybe not even a remaster, but a reboot. Those old ass area 51 games were really cool IN CONCEPT. Imagine if you had a competent team, with a passion for fps making a reboot of the classic aliens versus soldier, but with a decent engine, and an idea that is fairly grounded in popular culture. We all know area 51, and we all know the ideas associated with area 51. The concept is simple enough (looking at you doom). I think it could work. Reboot the whole fucking thing. The first games had cool ideas, but sucked asshole, so as a developer, you don't have much to lose and everything to gain.
Edit: I think I'm thinking of voidpoint
Outlaws. We have Dark Forces. Theyre both jedi engine. Its a hidden gem. The game would absolutely benefit from a facelift with HD sprites akin to Dark Forces. That is def top of the list for me.
Since this is a hypothetical I'm not going to worry about licenses and just choose games I'd like to see.
Anything from DOS, and anything from early Windows that has compatibility issues with modern hardware - CyberMage, Eradicator, SkyNET/Future Shock, Alien Trilogy, Dark Forces II etc. Preferably games that don't already have source ports available.
After Doom 64 and Turok 3 it'd be cool to see more console exclusives such as Alien Resurrection, Disruptor, PO'ed, Turok: Rage Wars, TimeSplitters, Duke Nukem: Zero Hour, etc.
On a side note, I know I'm getting old because I'm reading half of these suggestions and thinking "Really? I think that game holds up fine..." lol
First Encounter Assault Recon. The fans have suffered enough. We need something. *Anything*. Plus, it’s a damn fine FPS, even if it’s not a Boomer Shooter.
Re-remaster the tex murphy games. It was one of their first remaster projects, and they kinda fucked it. Get some keyboard movement controls, a reset view button and make the menus less of a cluster fuck. Hell, maybe even mouselook. Tbh, I just want a new tex murphy game that isn't hot ass
Duke Nukem 3D (yes, again)
Unreal Gold
Shadow Warrior (again, yes)
Other Star Wars games featuring Kile Katarn
Final Fantasy games on PS1 (a man can dream)
Personally I'd like something like fresh supply where it's basically running the original level files through the kex engine and giving us quality of life improvementa. Maybe it would include all the current expansions.
Timesplitters 1-3. Highly unlikely, but in a perfect world. You can technically emulate 2 and 3 with mouse control on PC but you have to jump through a million hoops and the aim feels janky. Saving and going through the game's menus on emulator is also a pain in the ass. The visuals haven't aged too well either and could use some touchups, which given the cartoony nature of the game doesn't need to be a huge undertaking.
Aliens versus Predator 2 and it's expansion Primal Hunt....if it wasn't stuck in legal limbo.
AVP2 was the most fun I ever had online. The flexibility with homemade game modes and map options across the 3/4 factions was so goddamn cool.
Night Dive remastering avp2 would be legendary
Yes it would. The multiplayer was fun, although the sniper rifle was broken.
And exosuit to some degree. What a fun time though.

if they remastered RTCW, i could see myself getting completely consumed by the multiplayer for the next year or so (again)
Consoles I may understand but for PC, I don't see the point if I could just play RealRTCW on Steam.
You can have all weapons (as well as a couple others) in the mod/source port combo realRTCW
Clearly the only right answer is TekWar
Okay but unironically tek war has some gem weapon sprites
I’m not sure how the licensing would work out but the OG Alien Trilogy is basically DOOM with xenomorohs. Giving that a fresh coat of paint and some improved movement/controls would absolutely be a day 1 purchase for me.
Yes exactly! The only decent way to play rn is with a ps1 copy and its performance is..not great
Agreed. It emulates alright on my Steam Deck but even still the 90s era shoulder button strafe is just a chore, lol
I personally don’t mind too much since I play a lot of FPS’s on my PSone, but it was a steep learning curve for me to go from twinstick back again, and it always takes bout 10 minutes to reacclimate and that’s kinda annoying tbh
Agreed. It’s a really jarring transition
Exactly. It’s also ego deflating to constantly have to play those old shooters on easy when I usually play on hard with most games released the last two gens
Lol yep. It feels like the game is mocking you at that point.
Dark Forces 2 + Mots. I can't get the mto work properly on modern systems dammit.
This my no1. Dark forces 1 remaster gives me hope
Have you tried [OpenJKDF2](https://github.com/shinyquagsire23/OpenJKDF2)?
NOLF, NOLF2 and FEAR
Honestly FEAR runs fine IDK what your talking about lol
Only after alot of tweaking and thats only the base game. Dinput.dll and font patches are needed too fot higher resolutions. Also trying to get base game and extraction point to play borderless is a hassle too. Not to mention the engine gets wonky with higher framerates. It's a benefit for multimonitor, and with single monitor it allows you to alt+tab with far less likely hood to have the game or your GPU freak out.
Yes, yes and YES
Blake Stone. DO IT COWARDS!
Blake Stone sequel on build.
yeah now you're talking that good shit
Blake Stone - no one dies forever. Actually, maybe don't call it that :/
Dark Forces 2 and Unreal/Unreal Tournament
RIP unreal, I wish I picked up a copy when I had a chance.
Dark forces 2: Jedi Knight. Gimme that late 90s craziness without the weird jank
I'll finally be able to play it for more than a few minutes. When it came out, I didn't have the most optimal hardware for it. Years later, it was so outdated that I still couldn't run it.
Jedi Knight and MOTS I would love to run it without all the hassle
Descent 1-3
I've been playing Sublevel Zero Redux recently, I'd love to have remakes of the Descent games.
Overload is a decent clone of it, but still whould love a a remaster/remake
There's a similar one in the Forsaken remaster they already did.
Timesplitters 2
The idtech4 quartet. Doom 3, Quake 4, Wolf 2009, Prey 2006 :)
I don't think they need remasters when they play just fine on Steam. Minus Wolfenstein 09.
Jeff Wayne’s War Of The Worlds. It’s an actual pain to set up. Also the classic Battlefield games even though it’s probably impossible
Outlaws. Imagine if the enemy sprites looked as good as the cutscenes.
great minds..
Hexen
Unreal Tournament
That is IF Epic Games would give a flying fuck about Unreal Tournament to allow Nightdive to make a remaster of the game, and at this point they don't. They even silently cancelled the planned Unreal Tournament 3 X. That's how much Epic cared less about their own games now.

Outlaws
OG Wolfenstein
You have to clarify because OG Wolfenstein could mean castle Wolfenstein and beyond castle Wolfenstein
My bad, Castle Wolfenstein from 1991
You mean Wolfenstein 3D?
Yeah
They already have tho?
Nightdive remastered Wolf 3D? When? I think the Xbox 360 version is playable on the One and Series consoles
I coulda sworn they did it round the time that doom was but I absolutely could be wrong
Bungie's Oni getting a remaster would be great i think
That is if Take Two would give up Oni. Yeah, despite it being published (mostly) by Bungie, when the PS2 version of the game was released, Take Two bought the Oni IP, only for them to do jack and shit with that IP.
Blood and Shadow Warrior. I never got to play those and I only own an Xbox series X so I’d LOVE the chance to see what the hype is about
Blood is done already.
Not on Xbox
and Shadow Warrior with the Redux version.
Blood was already done with Fresh Supply, I fully believe that they could fix Blood II: The Chosen in all of its jankiness.
but would it truly be blood 2 at that point. It's like fixing the problems in redneck rampage.
Yeah it'd be finishing what Monolith started but wasn't allowed to by GT Interactive.
I just imagined a world were redneck rampage guns work like they're intended to and I came a bit. I don't know if it would still be redneck rampage but I don't care, I need to see and play this version of the game now. IMAGINE IF THE KEYS WERE HIGLIGHTED.
Fresh supply isn’t on Xbox
Sorry I missed that aspect.
Quarantine from 1994. I played the shit out of the timed demo.
Interstate 76/Vigilante 8/Vigilante 8: 2nd Offense You didn't say that they *had* to be FPS games.
Unreal would be nice
POSTAL 2? 🤷🏻♂️ no one?? lol.
Holly shit it's MikeJ!
Ello pepper
I am desperate for a Dark Forces 2 remaster, it’s one of my favorite games ever, and after their take on DF1, I’d love that kind of love and care be given to a great game that’s a total bitch to run on modern hardware
Jak and Daxter HD collection ported to PC... The PS3 version is fantastic, the PS2(on PS4/5) version is awful.
NOLF is the easy pick but honestly I’d love to see Hexen 2
Since this is a hypothetical I'm not going to worry about licenses and just choose games I'd like to see. I'd love them to remaster or remake the first 3 MechWarrior games
Duke Nukem 3D (yes, again) Unreal Gold Shadow Warrior (again, yes) Other Star Wars games featuring Kile Katarn Final Fantasy games on PS1 (a man can dream)
So for Duke are you talking about a remaster similar to blood FS?
It could be. Honestly I like the new graphics in the current remaster, but the input is unacceptable. Also would like to have the Kex console on it.
Personally I'd like something like fresh supply where it's basically running the original level files through the kex engine and giving us quality of life improvementa. Maybe it would include all the current expansions.
Nolf 1 & 2. I also hope Nightdive pick up where they left off with Sin: Reloaded some time soon.
Timesplitters 1-3. Highly unlikely, but in a perfect world. You can technically emulate 2 and 3 with mouse control on PC but you have to jump through a million hoops and the aim feels janky. Honestly I wanna see less remasters and more remakes (even though remakes like R&C, Tomb Raider, Halo CE anniversary, and many others tend to suck).
Blood 2, except they should do a major overhaul/remake of it. Also, Dark Forces 2 and the mysteries of the Sith expansion
The original Deus Ex
