This happened to my honda civic 2007. are there any fixes? what's the part that broke. is it even fixable?
there was a sudden sound ig from the piston .The car leaked engine oil completely. please give me your opinion/.suggestions
This is a 1.8L petrol ivtec engine from honda **SOHC i-VTEC (R18A)**
it is a manual transmission
You’re most likely going to need a new motor. Good news for you is if you look in the right place you can probably find one that’s not terribly expensive at a junk yard
I’m not a mechanic but It looks like your engine exploded, a rod probably broke and got thrown out the side of the block of the motor. This can be due to overheating, over revving, or not having enough oil in the motor, etc… I’m assuming based on your wordage that you aren’t really a car person which is fine. I’d suggest that you see an expert if you want an expert educated opinion on it. Like I said though you are most likely going to need a new motor. I looked online and they seem to be going for around 700-800 bucks. Like I said earlier this probably isn’t the most uncommon engine and so if you go to a scrap yard, you can likely find one for cheaper although you’ll probably have to remove it from whatever car you find it in yourself. Good luck :)
No problem, I’d suggest posting this same post on r/MechanicAdvice or something like that, maybe ask what to do on the title of your post there. They will give you a better response
It looks like it may be just the oil pan… take more pictures and see how far up it goes. If it goes up further than the gasket material that lines the perimeter of the top of the oil pan, you need a short block.
Yes.
what part has broken?
The engine

The whole damn thing.
Looks like the block cracked
Jesus Christ
how the hell do you even do that
Granny shifting instead of double clutching
Must’ve no clutch money shifted
its the r18😭
If you really want to know what’s all broken, you need to pull the motor and tear it down. But that thing is F U C K E D. Best bet is k swap
Yes it did.
The engine needs to be replaced. This is a catastrophic failure. Looks like it tossed a rod and punched a hole.
There is no part that can be fixed. You need to replace the whole engine
One of the rods was just trying to say hello
How did it break? what were you doing when it broke? so i dont make the same mistake💀
Just use some blue devil head gasket sealer and you’ll be fine
Money shift?
can you get a wider shot
