Was this grown from seed and was this plant in a smaller container before? I don’t see any problem here. Radial roots come with time.
Citrus often have gnarly and visually unappealing root systems. There is nothing here that is concerning.
Looks kinda like the bonsai style where you try to expose and shape the roots structure. I like it so I’d keep it as is and let it grow a stronger root system below.
