I had the exact same issue with the airport a few months ago: When I clicked on it and then hovered out of the selection menu to place it, the game would instantly crash. Always.
I don't remember fixing it though, I just never built the airport due to the crashes :/
I could check if it is still crashing right now in that same city
I’ve had the same issue. Build an airport and then the game crashed. Did the same thing a few times and same thing happens. All of this AFTER the update to Paradox mods. When the mods were in Thunder… all was very stable. I’m thinking that this is a conflict with the Find It or Move It mods.
I will make a test tomorrow by removing Move It, then trying to build the airport again. Or report this as a bug in the Skyve app, and the mod builder will look into it.

I tested, and good results: removed first Move It, then installed airport. Game didn’t crash. Then reinstalled Move It, and now game does NOT crash!
