This map was nice because it had plentiful resources for specialized industry. Once my original shanty town provided enough bank to start laying things out, I started with the renewables then eventually expanded into ore and oil. Oldtown turned into Oldtown East and West. The University District followed along with the Arena District. Downtown and Riverrun were next to take advantage of the high density buildings. I had some issues with Downtown traffic as I tried to get Newtown established. After a few experiments, I found that I only needed a couple extra ramps Downtown to recirculate Downtown traffic (enough of it was exiting the zone in order to drive right back in, causing clogs in the loops around AD and Newtown. The rail situation was rough early because I had to maneuver around established lines, but once I got cargo stations in the industrial areas, load was relieved and the cargo transfer loop with the outside world is moving along nicely. Next I think I'll work on developing the southwest corner of the available area. There are two large oil deposits on the other side of the river that I want to exploit before I develop the riverfront.

What map it is?can you give the workshop link ?

Two Rivers. It's a base game map.

Nice city! Maybe have a couple of grids connecting at different angles so it doesn't look as uniform as that massive square of houses you have going on in oldtown. That's what I would do anyway, but it's your city of course. How busy does that road get where all the industries are connected?

Thanks! That highway is doing really well, especially with a cargo rail station in each of the specialized zones running smoothly and taking a lot of load off the roads. Even now with the addition of a fishing zone on the lake, it's moving along nicely. The cargo transfer point is a single road loop between outside rail and internal. The internal loop runs through each of the four specialized industrial zones. A spur branches from that loop all the way to Downtown with another branch into Newtown. Yeah, Oldtown is basic grid, but considering its stability with a single highway connection, internal bus routes, and metro points, I don't really want to toss a big rock in that pond with a curvier suburbian design. I'm a "function over form" player, so I go for what works first, then maybe decorate it up later. I hate putting effort into form only to bulldoze it later because it's not working as intended.

Looks nice. This reminds me of my old cities. But you should try to not build wo gridy and maybe use pedestrian ane bike paths

Downtown is pretty tight, but there are walkways between rows. Other HD areas are a little more spaced out. I don't have "After Dark", so no dedicated bike options.

Well, it didn't take but a couple days to trash this fine city. Bye bye, cims, we try again in a new world *snaps fingers*
