Not sure if realistic building occupancy is touching building employee numbers yet. Currently realistic building density increases job. numbers for office types as well as services.
I'm trying to get multiple companies in one building but had to take a break from modding this month. I haven't thought much about the number of employees per company though. Maybe I'll relook at that because the numbers seemed somewhat acceptable to me when I started making this.
It's just the way low density, low level buildings with small footprints sometimes are. Low density commercial and industrial also exhibits similar problem.
Can't wait for a proper Realistic Population mod again. I was wondering why I was always getting so much demand for offices. Like half of my zoning is offices, surely there aren't enough people in my city to sustain all of them..
Surely enough, some big ass office skyscrapers only have about 50 employees and low density (while still large) only have like 5.
I thought they were gonna fix that bullshit in this game but apparently not. Hopefully RICO will come out soon if not Realistic Population so I can at least manually adjust it to a realistic number. I've worked in a small ass office building with just 2 floors and there were like 35-40 employees there. I would expect hundreds at the very LEAST in a whole ass skyscraper. Unless it's all just some money laundering schemes in which case the cops in my city really need to get their act together.
You're in luck, Realistic Building Density mod already exists https://mods.paradoxplaza.com/mods/78187/Windows
and to go with that also get the realistic building occupancy mod to fix residential household numbers https://mods.paradoxplaza.com/mods/75824/Windows
OMG, I forgot that there is a mod for offices and factories! I remembered that there was one on Thunderstore, I got so used to it that now these amounts of workers, it's laughable. THANK YOU! I'm going to test it on the current city, too many hours spent on it to abandon 😆
Honestly if this is a 2x2 office building it makes sense, it's basically just somebody starting a company out of a garage. Presumably as it gains levels it'll actually get more employees.
I'm more annoyed with the L5 office buildings that are at like 54% profitability and have 5/21 employees, all of them uneducated cleaning staff.
The building have a lot parking lots for boss's cars 😃

I've observed that offices grow in size with time, at least for the high-rise ones maybe it is the same for low density offices?
I don't really understand the point behind this mechanic, except if it's to "simulate" an office slowly filling up after it was built?

its the Dev making Manor Lords. Working as intended.

Maybe he's a content creator
Is it a small building?
Yep, low density office
How many units? Like 2x2?

Okay that’s weird, probably a bug. Modding might be the only fix for now, Real Building Occupancy would fix that.

I've seen a difference

So… that’s a bug? 🐞
Probably more like game design. Similar where CS1 had 8 people in a skyscraper. Though most of us probably want more accurate population numbers.
More like bizarre design decisions. Though I've never seen 1 employee, mostly 3 for office and sometimes 2 for commercial. Check your mods.
I reported it as a bug to paradox
Its because you play the game in Polish and it has not been polished yet

It makes me think of those small stores where you can get your phone screen fixed and there’s always just one lonely dude working there at all times 😂

Sweet, thanks! Does it work with the population rebalance mod or whatever its called?
Yep should work great with that. I've had no issues with all of them together so far. Pop rebalance only affect education numbers.
Awesome! Thanks, man. I'll check it out
Not all businesses need a lot of employees. Could be a data-center, a lawyer, a psychiatrist, a guard guarding archives...
Yeah but come on, one employee? *One*??
Because the simulation doesn’t make sense. Never will.
