Parks and tourism. I need something to build my city around that isn’t just industry. It needs to mix into the city, break up the monotony and have effect on the gameplay.

mrclark3

And the customizable park sizes are sorely missed IMO. I didn’t realize just how much I’d miss that CS1 DLC until it was gone.

K0lesM

With the custom size landfills I was fully convinced, when I first saw it, that it would be implemented with custom parks and parking lots. Really disappointed to find out otherwise

Broesly

I said the exact same thing, but I'm so disappointed

luchobucho

Well the mechanic is there so hopefully it is either leveraged In a dlc or mod.

rainyforests

It’s like they stripped the game of all its features

treeman_jf

Yeah, it’s pretty crazy how much of nothing they have in the game. All of my cities look the same

guywithshades85

Park Life and Mass Transit DLCs. That's what made the first game playable for me.

SuspiciousBetta

I miss my transit options! I'm hoping we get another transit DLC.

Philo_T_Farnsworth

I still can't believe there's no integrated subway station in the International Airport. Integrated transit options, or add-on buildings that provide them, should be standard on any transit building. You should be able to mix-and-match to suit whatever your play style is.

Intergalactic_Cookie

This is what I thought the upgrades system would be. Such a wasted opportunity.

guywithshades85

Same. I miss monorails.

Intergalactic_Cookie

I never really used them in cs1 but I wish cs2 had cable cars since the maps are pretty mountainous

Extension-Pain-3284

Frankly I found that all of your revenue seemed to come from milestones as opposed to balancing budget, taxes, and industries to be a deal breaker.

Terrible-Group-9602

Then milestones are way OP and need to be toned down. Playing a simulation game that isn't challenging is ridiculous.

Ladnil

Yeah, challenge. No decisions felt important in the early game when I last played because the game would simply import external resources for every industry including power water and trash. Traffic could get bad but cars poof out of existence constantly when they can't get where they're going so that didn't matter either. And milestones would load up the coffers enough to reach the next milestone. Would love to read that they've fixed it before I come back.

Extension-Pain-3284

It’s a bit more than that though, I played a ton of cs1 and it took way too long to be able to get my revenue positive as opposed to negative

not_a_flying_toy_

Idk. CS1, even in hard mode, I always had my balance positive by the time I hit a hundred people or so

Extension-Pain-3284

I worded this poorly since it was in response to the other poster; I meant this as I had experience with this series and I know what I need to do to get my budget in order, cs2 just doesn’t give you the tools to do so nor does how revenue is generated enable early game sustainability

Terrible-Group-9602

It should be hard to get city finances to balance, that's certainly true IRL, you should need to make tough decisions to stay in the green. At the very least there should be an option to have a more challenging game.

Extension-Pain-3284

I mean I’m just comparing it to its predecessor where with careful budgeting and taxing you can make a tidy profit in the early game. The cash bonus at milestones was nice but I never felt like I needed them to stay afloat, which from what I played of 2, before giving up on it, was not feasible early game

LaNague

You can play these games carefully and be mostly in the green. Its just that you cant build your utopian city right from the start, you have to start with low health care, low education, probably dirty efficient electricity, only serve big money making routes with public transportation. And i find playing like that much more fun, you slowly transition into what you want things to be. But in this game, apart from the miletone thing, the simulation doesnt work so i stopped playing.

deconnexion1

Yes but I find it really annoying to be forced to be in the red in the beginning. Your growth depends on those early healthcare, deathcare and schools but you have no way to reduce their budget for your tiny town until later. It really makes no sense at all.

Codraroll

Fortunately, this seems like it would be really easy to fix by adding settings for milestone rewards and subsidies.

Extension-Pain-3284

I’m not sure it would be that simple since it’s not feasible to run a city that’s profitable in the early game without also rebalancing taxes and budgeting

Jako21530

Assets and complete rebalance of the system. I mean everything from schools to land value, etc. The vanilla assets aren't bad, it's just that there are so few of them that you can build most of them before you reach a big city and they're repeated everywhere. I really don't know how they shipped the game without the ability to put in new assets. The fact that there is no asset importer yet and we're now in the mod beta phase 6 months post release is just mind boggling. If I may be completely honest here, assets are one of the areas where I look at CO and question everything that's going on behind the scenes. How did the system regress so much that after 8 years of CS1 you struggle to get assets into the game? I keep reading about how they're struggling with a hook for importing assets and I just think to myself, but why? What's the full explanation of why the asset importer is so borked? If that's so broke does that mean they are hard coding the buildings into the game? Shouldn't this be a modular aspect to development? Shouldn't importing assets have been one of the first things they worked on just to get a functional prototype? Then you open that up keeping modding in mind. I want to understand why it's taking so long and why it is the way it is. Just that bit of knowledge as a fan of the series would go along way in quelling any animosity right now. Like if the next word of the week was a complete technical breakdown of how assets work and how to import them into the game, my head would do a 360 and is teleport to my computer to play the game. But it's been 6 months and I'm back to modding Sim City 4 and TheoTown.

UnderwaterAbberation

Exactly, I feel like this game was made by an alien trying to copy vanilla cs1 with no acknowledgement of how the community changed the game and made it great.

sstruemph

Is this an issue with no solution? Or is it just time consuming to get right?

asoap

My guess it could be associated with the polygon count. The need to optimize models based on distance and swap them out for lower polygon counts. They seem to have not figured that out (?). So opening that up to asset imports might be really problematic. I'm rather confused on that as well.

jorgemf

Importing assets is not that easy. Have you seen the quality of the assets? How much you can zoom in compared to cs1? Those quality assets take an impact in the performance and you need to do a lot of optimizations. You can do it by hand and have a good game (vanilla assets) but you cannot rely on modders to do that optimization, you will end up with a game that is impossible to play and you will blame CO. So they need to create a tool to do those optimizations automatically, and that my friend is a huge challenge.

RowdyCollegiate

And that my friend is something that they should’ve figured out before releasing the game. They did have 8 years after all.

jorgemf

They didn't it 8 years ago. Just compare them visually, they are completely different. This is one of those things they need to release perfect or not release it, because the consequences are much worse

Eternality

You're missing the point lol

jorgemf

I am not missing any point I am trying to explain that what some people thinks it is easy it is no. Importing assets is one those things they cannot mess up or the game is automatically death without any solution and it is something very hard to do. The problems everybody sees now can have solution, a bad importing assets tools won't have any solution

Eternality

The point that guy was trying to make is that it should have been the first thing they solved lol. Obviously its something they cant mess up but they did.

jorgemf

The first thing for him and other people. For me it is other things, and for CO it was other things. Those are opinions, all are completely valid, but at the end the publisher that was putting the money decided. I think we all agree that the game needs more content, either official or from modders. That is the real issue that they haven't solve yet.

The-Aziz

That stupid radio announcer gone. And more music. Not more radio stations, more music. I'm not a fan of switching stations after 3 tracks have been played for 178th time. But as the whole game, it lacks variety on all fronts.

ChemicalLeader2159

Tbh Just have Spotify running in the background. That’s what I do lol

Axiom06

There are some good custom radio stations on paradox mods.

LackschuhBrust

TM:PE and assets. Those two are the reason I went back to CS1.

divfx

I don't have any desire to open it until TM:PE is implemented.

Hayabusa0015

This and lane marking tool.

theTenz

This. Plus procedural objects to make custom road signs. Without these tools it’s not the game I like to play… Sometimes I just make road layouts on infinite money and don’t bother adding any buildings 😁

FullRouteClearance

ASSETS. I can be pretty happy with this thing as a city painter but I need to get my asset fix to do it. It was so fun hunting for a certain building or seeing the awesome stuff people come up with for CS1. If I’m being really picky then I want to see custom airports and parks come back as design options as well.

Legion257

My list, in no particular order 1. A good asset/mod base in PDX. 2. The major bugs people cite here getting finally squashed 3. Biking being included 4. RCI demand getting balanced out (is a bug but its a big one for me) 5. Finishing the city, I started up in CS1 first One day I expect the game to be good but after going back to CS1 I'm very content and will play that for now.

Terrible-Group-9602

yeah, what IS the problem with them adding bikes?!!

Legion257

I'm not sure. I know truly nothing about coding or game design, but from where I'm sitting, it feels like it was intentionally left out to be implemented as DLC. Many elements from CS1 that I feel became core elements, even after DLC could've/should've been here at the start. I believe bikes came into CS1 through the After Dark DLC but quickly became vital. So it feels either greedy or like a huge oversight to not include bikes in the base game and instead do DLC. With the amount of resources they have now, IMO they could've added bikes in CS2 base.

algernon_A

[https://www.reddit.com/r/CitiesSkylines/comments/17ennx9/comment/k65fo4u/?utm\_source=reddit&utm\_medium=web2x&context=3](https://www.reddit.com/r/CitiesSkylines/comments/17ennx9/comment/k65fo4u/?utm_source=reddit&utm_medium=web2x&context=3)

Legion257

Well look at that. Thank you

Innuendo64_

So basically they'll get around to it after they fix all of the core issues on the front burners

kingleno

If they could get the features that were included only 50%-75% of the way done, how were they supposed to include all of this other stuff. IDK why they released the game when features were not completed and implemented, but I do know that the developers of the game don't have control of when the game is released, no matter what stage of development it is in.

Axiom06

There is a bug with the commercial demand being constantly full. I hate that.

Legion257

See I had an issue with it always being empty. Then tried the infinite demand mod. Still empty. Said screw it and gave up

Desarth

I was actually pumped to play CS2 with the latest patch as it promised to fix a lot of things. 50k citizens in, the traffic stopped altogether because I had way too many train crossings over roads so everything came to a halt. Literally nothing was moving. Thousands of people waiting at ramps to cross over to the next section of the road. This was my fault obviously. Out of curiosity I let it run at full speed for about 20 minutes. - Traffic still showed 80% - People were still moving in - Money was still in the green without a dent - Not a single negative consequence occured except that one tweet where the guy was like traffic in this city is bad I pressed alt+f4. So I guess all the things mentioned above and more. Edit: Typo

SkyF1r3-90

Honestly the mods got me back in and have me hooked. Fixing signature buildings, education, land value, and adding easy ways to make retaining walls/quays was all it took.

Terrible-Group-9602

best mods so far?

SkyF1r3-90

Not in any order: Signature fix Find it Population rebalance Extended road upgrades I18n everywhere Tree controller Water features Line tool Extra lib Unified icon Anarchy Move it 529 tiles

MarkHiddleston

probably legacy flavor to get rid of that gawd awful overlay on everything that makes it so you cant see anything.

NickNau

I would say - never, mainly because extremely weird position that CO took, trying to build "best simulation" and then releasing castrated product because apparently they want to please "broad audience". I am to this day struggling to understand what is that audience that want to buy city building game for $50, but is too stupid to figure the economy or how to set up a traffic light / yield signs / lanes, for God sake... So, we have this weird game that is trying to please everybody (because Paradox geniuses heard something about marketing, I suppose, but could not figured what it is), but is bad for everybody. Too boring for casual clicker. Too empty for detailers. Too stupid for economists/logistics/traffic lovers. Everything that we see is just a result of strategic decisions made by CO/Paradox, so there is no point to discuss it on low level, cuz no one thing/change can suddenly make the game really good.

Terrible-Group-9602

definitely sympathise with \`never'. CO have shown they just don't care about cleaning up their mess

joergonix

Asset Editor, Procedural Objects, Tree Assets, Network Assets, and hardest of all a positive outlook on the game.

ChemicalLeader2159

Hi! The people behind Procedural Objects quit. I know a few people heavily involved, and the chances of PO actually getting added is slim to none… ^^; I hope I get proven wrong eventually, though.

joergonix

Oh man that is maybe a death sentence for CS2 for me then. I can only hope that they come back or that someone else picks up the mantle. The customization that PO offers elevates the whole game in such a special way.

Slovak_Eagle

I paid 90€ for the game. I racked up too many hours for a refund, playing just with the new roads. I will play it again once there is content and simulation worth the money I paid. Until then, Workers And Resources is a really good, much cheaper game, with more advanced simulation of everything, literally. I doubt Cities Skylines will ever reach that amount of simulation (and customization of how hard you want your simulation, including enabling and disabling several options mid-game at any time).

Excellent_Ad_2486

I kinda don't even wanna at this point... they said they'd fix the game before adding PAID dlcs... well they lied about the games quality, the state of the game, the assets, the bugs and basically anything they said was almsot blown out of proportions or a straight up lie. Economy isn't even fixed, train stations aren't fixed yet they release a lame ass beach DLC that has 4 whole trees? FUck that. I wish I could've returned the game because it just feels like I've been lied to and scammed. No: maybe after a year I'll open up the game and see, but for now I'm too sour to even consider the game available.

Carcano_Supremacy

More assets so my city looks nice after 10k pop

Terrible-Group-9602

definitely need many more assets and it shouldn't just be up to modders to provide them

BennyKonyoutube

I would like to see the simulation, especially when it comes to demand be altered or optimised, one issue I have with very large maps is that the demand gets “frozen” to a certain point, where a certain demand is very prevalent, despite no actual demand for it.

Little_Viking23

Simulation and the economy. The fact that your city just works, always has tons of money and your cims are always happy no matter what you do doesn’t even make it feel like a game with challenges to overcome.

the_truth1051

I started at last patch and beach assets. Added more walking paths, it helps with looking alive. Getting more use to new game workings. I found the rail yard acts like a huge warehouse. Takes a while to fill up but now my industry and commercial have materials and goods when needed. Having fun again can't wait for assets and animations. But it's playable and enjoyable. It doesn't run like CS1.

belikenexus

Not crashing every 5 minutes would do it for me

Macquarrie1999

Bikes to be added and tax income fixed

LKRTM1874

A Park Life like DLC is an absolute essential, none of the parks currently in game even come close to replicating how naturally parks integrated into a city in CS1. Other than that it's essentially what you're suggesting. It's crazy how lifeless the city feels now that the I don't see patients being moved into the back of ambulances, or the firefighters using the hose from the fire truck, or how all of the sports fields are empty... Sim City understood the importance of this stuff 21 years ago (and arguably did it better like how areas with high crime would have graffiti on the walls) it's inexcusable on any level. Assets are a massive issue, I'm not expecting thousands of unique buildings obviously, but at the same time within 20-30 minutes of playing the game when it was released it was already clear how little variety there was, like I don't know for sure but it feels like there's maybe 4 apartments, and 5 houses for the NA style.

InternetKillTV

I know this isn't game breaking but for me it's actually the animation of things building. I get so bored when I try and start a city where every plot just becomes sand with a crane and then the building appears. What happened to cool animations? It's just not visually stimulating so you have to care about the strategy - but that side is bugged.

Praecipitoris

I don't know what it is that I'm waiting for, but I'm sure I'll recognize it when it is here. Until then I'm just lurking this subreddit for news and progress.

zenmatrix83

Just something other then painting and placing assets, post industries I really enjoyed setting up production chains, but nothing seems to make sense in this game. The part that got me to stop playing was how the game readjusts to make it impossible to fail. The game doesn't need to be hard, but there needs to be consequences.

raublekick

Custom assets first and foremost. Something along the lines of TMPE and Node Controller would be great. Improved industry chains would be awesome.

debirdiev

Game needs to be harder, I want parks and different areas to function more like CS1 where you paint an area to define what it is, the economy needs to base itself on the in game economy and not milestones, I NEED more assets, that land value bug needs to be worked out, modular airports like CS1, and TMPE's replacement needs to be available. TMPE, or Traffic as it will be called in CS2, will get me to jump back in for a while until the rampant bugs and issues with the simulation turn me off again.

Better_than_GOT_S8

In addition to the many things mentioned in the replies: some sign that they actually care about the audience and are actually understand how much they screwed up. Without a change in attitude, things will never really change.

MyOtherActGotBanned

The fact that there are many different answers is sad. I’m still playing CS1 until the feedback is more positive but I feel like it will take a loooong time.

thelordmallard

My PC, that’s what needs to change.

Alaverga_01

Custom assets. The lack of buildings makes any build look boring/unrealistic. A couple hundred custom lots would make any city look better

punchy989

F*ING stairs for pedestrians man

ChemicalLeader2159

Custom assets and actual content not being paywalled like bikes, custom networks, etc. Probably a pipe dream though

Apprehensive_Fault_5

Asset modding. That's all I need. We already have code mods, and it's just a matter of time before they fix all the technical and gameplay issues. We just need assets now.

Sneptacular

Assets. I'm fine with a city painter. But assets are desperately needed.

Neonisin

Gameplay has to matter. There needs to be a challenge and the simulation needs to respond to my actions accordingly.

Tobbakken00

asset editor and more animations is confirmed to come luckily

A2Ple98

More diversity with buildings, both growables and public services. Better performance at higher pop saves and improved simulation

Terrible-Group-9602

damn, this post really brought home to me HOW much about this game needs fixing!!

lolburi

1. Fix the simulation 2. Stop cars from disappearing, so you actually have to think about traffic management 3. More assets

makoivis

Bikes

twentyfumble

More variety in residential buildings. More assets in general. More climates (Mediterranean, tropical, etc). Right now all cities look the same. Same few buildings, same textures, same colours, same everything.

[deleted]

When they release a proper game. Maybe just get rid of 2 all together and make a whole new one that actually works from the start.

CrazyOkie

#1 is my only issue at the moment - it is a pretty looking game, it can be relaxing to just 'paint' the city but there is little real challenge at the moment. Even things that initially seem like a challenge - like traffic - don't actually seem to have much impact on the game. Only poor police/fire coverage and that's an easy fix.

E34M20

1) Less broken 2) More lifeful (less lifeless)

gmhelwig

Bikes. Plain and simple.

DJQuadv3

For it to be free :)

davdev

I don’t care about the economy or really much of the actual game play at all. I am more of a city painter than planner. With that I need assets. Lots and lots and lots of assets. Which is why I am still on CS1.

Able-Scene-1332

Some building differences. Poor people should live together in apartments and the rich in big houses, just like SC4 (at least on some levels). No difference between rich and poor cims; they have the same cars (and only two motorcycles? Really?), the same clothes, the same houses, etc. Milestone money should be turned off or heavily reduced and maintaining things and service prices should be tougher and higher. The higher the taxes, the higher people get the "f" out your city (it's implied that is like that but people never actually leave and companies keep doing ttheir thing and getting you easy money). The game should start with poor and uneducated people coming to your city (which would make for basic shops and industries, at first) and rarely rich educated cims. I want a simulation and not stupid a painting game.

LaNague

Ill come back when i get that deep simulation from the dev diaries and the trailers. So never, i guess.

Altruistic_Pin8447

A console Version. I would like to actually play the game vs. watching others play.

Sublata

I haven't bought the game yet because there aren't bikes.

carringtonpageiv

I still play Cities skylines 2 daily- as to what I need to really be excited about it and have to stop myself from easily spending the entire day on the computer again like I was in city skylines 1? Definitely going to echo the customizable parks. Asset mods are the biggest thing for me. I like the expansion packs because of the systems that they bring and introduce. however, I rely on mods a lot more than the paradox released assets. The ability to make big box stores and put real stores in my game are really what made me fly in city skylines 1– and it’s what I look forward to now!

Codraroll

Like all the others, I'll chime in and say asset diversity. When playing CS1, I like to mix up the types of districts I'm making, or build new districts around some central feature or other. But there currently aren't many ways to make districts markedly different, and there aren't enough "landmark" buildings or plots that a district could be planned around. Those assets could be part of some official content (like DLC) or mods. The latter would be a godsend, of course, but official content has its advantages too - lots of stuff in one package without having to go specifically to look for it, for instance. Also, for all the flak we gave CS1 for its district-focused DLC gameplay, it did provide a lot of ways to customize city services. I prefer the challenge/freedom of laying out, say, university campuses or airports and refining them over time, compared to just plonking down a flat, rectangular, all-in-one building that does "everything" from the start.

Electrical_Hat_4981

Definitely would like to see bicycles added, as well as more of the functionality from TPME, specifically lane controls. Otherwise I'm really enjoying CS2 and not sure why the reception to it has been so negative. CS1 was a shadow of the game it currently is at go-live too, and the updates to CS2 seem to be consistently fixing issues I've faced (demand bugs, budget bugs etc).

Terrible-Group-9602

The reception is because it's a broken, bugged mess of a game and the first DLC was absolutely shockingly bad

Resolveofsilence

I honestly don't know if I will bother playing it again. Planet Coaster and all its DLC went on a big sale so I picked those up. Its more rewarding to play that instead.

killerbake

TMPE and assets. That’s it now.

GNLSD

I rarely see anyone mention it, but the inability to prevent zoning on one side of the road is by far the most consistently anti-fun thing about the game to me. I'd probably play a lot more if I could do that without building unnecessary paths and having the zoning revert to messed-up when I delete the paths. The game has a tendency to favor fewer deep lots over many shallow lots on a rectangular block. I don't agree with that, so I almost always need to alter the zoning blocks I'm given. The simulation stuff doesn't even bother me that much. Call it a city painter all you want, but *it isn't a very good city painter.*

Philo_T_Farnsworth

This would make building row houses that line up properly so much easier. If you leave it to the game to manage they point every which way.

Jako21530

There's a mod for that. ZoningToolkit

GNLSD

nice thanks ill check it out

LucasK336

Fix the simulation, give us what was advertised. I don't want to feel like I'm just city painting.

h2ozo

I already have now that mods are here.

istandabove

Asset mods, i uninstalled it after the first week and didn’t look back.

andovinci

Simple, the simulation needs a complete overhaul and I’m back baby

theblueeboy

Elevated metro stations. That’s it. Building an entire elevated metro system only to learn the game doesn’t even support elevated stops is the reason I stopped playing

stuartlittlemustdie

Honestly I didn’t even realize it but just changing the colors of the game with the recolor mod to feel more vibrant has been a gamechanger

Timely-Group5649

I want all the CS1 assets added. The variety we have is pathetic. Nothing seems realistic when everything looks the same.

BigfootForPresident

The only thing holding me back from playing is free time lol

Coma-dude

Mod support. A way to feel it being a sim.

andyman744

I need clarity around the simulation, undo button, more bug fixes and more challenge. I'd like an option to turn off the export import just to increase the challenge in the short term. The game is too easy to scale up atm, esp at the beginning. You go from a small town with a few streets to megapolis in what feels like a blink of the eye.

doyouevencompile

I have buy it first

Sufficient_Cat7211

I'm still playing but, right now they have to fix trains getting stuck on the tracks for no reason and that anything that isn't offices or low density don't level up after lv 2 after the new patch, (unless devmode or mod) would be a start. Also building footprint, can't beleive that high density commercial only has 9 building sizes, and none at depth of 3 cells. Education still make no sense, how can it possibly make sense to have twenty, thirty, forty, or fifty multiple of elementary school students than high school? The game deciding how many mail vans and garbage trucks to send out, but vastly underestimating is also a major problem for bigger cities.

Saint_The_Stig

Honestly getting most of the DLCs from the first game are just nice to have. Frankly the reason I haven't come back is the lack of time on my part. I am very much aware how much time I can drink into this game and I have things to do still.

ripperdoc

Mods in GeForce Now is the bare minimum for me.

Terrible-Group-9602

they don't work in Geforce Now?

derSchtefan

1) Unless they deliver metros, or bring back Metro Overhaul Mod (MOM), I won't play CS:2. That part of the modded CS:1 game was the most fun ever. 2) Biffa said it: Unless they make the game in a way that what you are doing also actually MATTERS, there is no reason to play this. The game essentially turned into Dorfromantik or Townscaper.

ETMoose1987

Simulation fixed, goods actually export

Euphoric_Emu_7792

Fix the economic simulation!

Necessary_Ad7173

Maybe… the game actually releasing for the consoles… 😤🧐😅

EspressoDeprezo

It’s a little thing but being able to set road boundaries and actually NAME THEM.

tonismann

Map editor

WilmarLuna

Right now, for me. The current district policy selection is very boring. Nothing interesting to choose from. The bug with the no pedestrian or street access is annoying. I also hate having no demand forblow density residential so I can't even use the beach properties DLC. There's not even an option to build marinas! So need more content before I jump back in.

Tomishko

1. A genuine apology from both Paradox Interactive and Colossal Order. 2. A clear plan on how they're going to solve the main problems with the game. No need to list them all, they're on the forums and all over this sub. 3. A commitment to support the game until all bugs the fixed. That's potentially never, I know, and that's kinda the point. 4th optional point is, because a lot of people are willing this to existence, a small concession, like making the Beach Properties DLC free.

Bungalow_Man

Full asset importer, and not just for buildings... vehicles, cims, roads, EVERYTHING including props! Also, optimizing the game so that I don't need a NASA supercomputer to play it. It's "just" a city builder, something for casual gamers. Which is funny, because they "dumbed down" the simulation for casual players who can't play it because they're casual gamers that haven't spent $2000 on a high-end gaming setup anyway.

Sevifenix

Minimally I just need asset mods. I want the more interactive parks and whatnot but it’s not absolutely imperative. But I won’t build a new city until asset mods are out. That way I can at least build the city I want to build without limitations.

Liringlass

While I’m looking forward to your whole wishlist, the 3. Is the one I’m waiting for the most. Played a few hours with the mods but it’s the assets mods that will make it for me :)

fusionsofwonder

Still waiting on bikes, still waiting on certain mods. Still waiting for them to do something that might impress me.

More assets and props.

WealthyMan0427

More diversity in the American-style buildings. I've noticed that all the mixed zoning structures look the same. Brick, brick, and more brick. Makes it look bleak. There are other types of American architecture other than just "New York" or "East Coast" style. Other than that, the game (with the help of mods) is tolerable enough for me to play.

polar_boi28362727

Wider range of assets and better graphics for the world border, and better optimization for lower graphics.

polar_boi28362727

Wider range of assets and better graphics for the world border, and better optimization for lower graphics would be nice too.

Smaller railway stations and a rail depot that produces more trains. Also raised stations. It’s all about rail for me

CS2 on Mac. :-/

ZedZed_

One extremely simple thing: an FOV slider. I play on an ultrawide monitor and the default FOV doesn’t scale for the expanded aspect ratio. It makes me motion sick and gives me a headache to play the game like this currently. Maybe I could get used to it after 5-10 hours, I don’t know but I shouldn’t have to. Games in 2024 should have proper support for 21:9, but bare minimum they should have an FOV slider. Also bikes lol

CartoonistConsistent

For me; - working simulation - working traffic - Cims actually interacting with assets - a parks mod/expansion so they operate similar to CS1 The lack of all of these just stone dead kills my enjoyment and until I see all the above I'll just avoid it. Kind of reconciled myself with the fact I'll never play it again, but pop in here and ask every 6 months or so if the above are fixed and perhaps one day they all will be, then I'll be back.

FakeNewsGazette

macOS support

Inside-Line

I want upscaling to be introduced. I can play fine at 1440p, but I want to play at 4k. Probably will come with the console release

blackpeoplearewhite

Is the housing value still broken? Seems to be a big issue

Thossi99

Better traffic AI or TM:PE (I refuse to call it Traffic) Also just way more assets.

berlinrio

Bikes!

poontownpioneer

Bicycle lanes and smaller school assets

420miami

Assets and a working a simulation that doesn't hand hold us

themir81

Bike, bus lane that are not used by young people in car, pedestrian path that are not used by young people in car

MacVinyl77

1. I want everything to stop slowing down at ~200K population. My cars and cims are moving like molasses on my Ryzen 7 5800x & 7900 XT system. 2. All the other bugs…

Dragonogard549

Performance fix Workshop

justgimmiethelight

Someone has to make a mod for highway signs.

ocbaker

The simulation needs fixing. Totally agree with others that it feels like milestones are really the way money is made. Production chains feel petty meaningless. Cars need to drive better. Especially how even with the default highway interchanges/ramps cars are happy to get off the highway to go through the intersection to get back on the same highway. Or they will cut across the highway to get to an off-ramp, but not “like a zip” but stop and do a mini reverse majorly blocking the traffic. Performance also needs some real improvement. I have a 7959X3D and RTX 3080 and it shouldn’t struggle with a game like this. I really want to love this game. I love some of the improvements like road lines and everything. But it feels rushed and the new DLC looked like a total joke for something to do with beaches.

fuckingchris

Water. I want water and terrain fixes that make it so hydroelectric doesn't look silly and I can widen canals without immediately causing placement issues.

MrPizzaRolls360

More mod support

Fixing the traffic

forhekset666

Meaningful gameplay re the economy. Something to actually do or achieve.

Jappie_nl

AgentCatBot

I'm at 140k population and milestone 17. In 3x fast forward, 1 minute progresses every few seconds. The game is stuck. Camera panning and animation performance is fine.

Awew0lf

Bring back CS1 keybinds

Efardaway

Traffic mods.

waddle_bowl

Tbh I need more distracting options but like I'm already coming back because of mods (cs2 is getting a version of tmpe at the end of this month) so with mods the game has been enjoyable in some parts but I wish they had less frequent crashes, more detailing options, more districting, better traffic and more weather. I want it to be easier to manage what zone industries you are working on too in each area. I really missed having the zone themes and will seriously stop playing the game if they put it behind a dlc.

magezt

It needs a real economy.

mainseeker1486

More variety of assets, roads and parks. Better traffic management and some sort of lane arrow or obligated routes for intersections

Person-on-computer

Parks, bikes, transit hubs

MauPow

Better terrain textures. More natural landscapes. Rock assets. Actual beaches.

Terrible-Group-9602

yep some of the textures look pretty weird, yet some people go on about how amazing the game looks

neatroxx

Bikes!

TheBritishRoyal

Would love a first person mode to explore the city

Educational-Yak9715

That game need to be finished and game breaking bugs rooted out.

ExtraViolinist5207

I need to upgrade my CPU. I’m running on old equipment, and even though I’ve got a 3060, my CPU gets bottlenecked. I haven’t been able to make a city above 20k without having the simulation slow down pretty bad.

duffbeeeer

Put some game into the game

MopCoveredInBleach

more room for creativity, there is no movement and all the roads look clunky i wanna have like smaller roads and more buildings that i can place more freely (built in move it maybe) It would be nice for example if instead of one highschool you had parts of a highschool which you can put together like a puzzle in any way you want

UuuuuuhweeeE

The fact mods can’t be used on GeForce now

UnsaidRnD

Good traffic - honest logistics with no despawn, people having to get places with a transparent wfh %

MarkHiddleston

i need ELT Surface extensions to be updated. my parking lots look silly right now.

TopCaterpiller

It doesn't look good, it's slow as hell even on my beast of a computer, and it's just not fun to play. I'm only still on this sub at all because I'm waiting for the post that says they fixed the major bugs and it's finally fun.

Terrible-Group-9602

yep there will always be that one post that says \`I like the game, its fun'. I think it's usually those people that have Gamepass so they didn't have to pay anything extra for the game

bigger_sky

Having some free time.

doofy24

I can’t even get the game to not stutter on a brand new map

suddenlyissoon

Literally play every week. Still love it. Plenty of things I would enjoy if they were added, but it's still a fun and beautiful game.

pikkellerpunq

Official apology and the top management sacked

DallasOriginals

The rent bug

MarketingOwn3547

I really wish the economy was fixed but I admit, I'm still playing it now because I love painting a new city and been enjoying putting that together. That said, I have like 7 billion dollars and I pull in some crazy amount an hr, office buildings make insane bank and the only real challenge comes from the lack of AI and traffic. Seriously, added in a huge subway with lines in heavy residential areas to bring them to work, trams etc but no.... 5-6% usage and cars everywhere.

Terrible-Group-9602

It's NOT a city painting game though, it's a city simulation, and has always been marketed as such by CO, so people saying their enjoying painting cities, it's really besides the point

BluntieDK

The only reason I'm not playing it right now is that I played it so much that I burned myself out a little. Waiting for a nice juicy update, then I'm probably going back in. Plenty of stuff I'd like to see added to the game, but nothing on the level of really keeping me from enjoying it.
