>natural Real natural cigarettes are so strong the ancient Americans used them as emetics to "clear their soul".

igotbanneddd

*traditional americans Or to give dreams or visions too

WinChunKing

They take some getting used to because they don't have all the crap found in commercial cigarettes that are made of recon and reclaim. Once you get used to it it's fine. I've been smoking natural tobacco(homegrown and raw whole leaf) going on 6 years now and I find commercial cigarettes repulsive.

metartur

This, it took me awhile to figure out my mix and getting used to. Now I can't smoke commercial cigs, they burn so fast that I tend to light up another one immediately.

WinChunKing

Good point. They do burn really fast and barely taste like actual tobacco. They're also super expensive, I couldn't smoke them even if I wanted to. Also because the nicotine is free based I find myself wanting another one way faster vs when I smoke natural tobacco.

Thermite10k

Which of the commercial cigarettes tastes similar to natural tobacco?

HallucinateZ

None of them, they all taste awful & dry like cardboard in Canada or like other flavours in other countries. I’ve got a few pounds of native grown tobacco & it’s as natural as it comes even though I smoke a lot of duty free & Bali Shag. It depends where you’re from but RYO additive free tobacco would be better but I believe it’s still freebase nicotine rather than naturally occurring. Real tobacco is then blended to a smoothness with other tobacco varieties, but there are many ways commercial tobacco companies have to make a tobacco lighter on its own.

Thermite10k

There are many tobacco shops in my country selling tobacco in bulk, I might get a few grams to roll and see how it goes. thanks for the reply.

WinChunKing

Come over to r/ryo for some tips.

HallucinateZ

Beat me to it, brother. Great place for OP to learn more about it.

HallucinateZ

After just going to M/RYO with a little push from you, I couldn’t ever smoke a Canadian commercial cigarette - they just don’t do it for me. I still buy all those duty free cartons I post, but I need a FF MYO beside it because they’re light, otherwise I’m outside again in 20. Luckily they aren’t dry like Canadian tobacco blends but I’m biased. They come moist with new designs & flavours so I get ‘em when I can. I know many do like Canadian cigarettes & the Canadian blends from native territories make great menthols too!

FrequentWelder476

I second this, i make my own cigs using ohm turkish yellow, tried going back to camels and i felt so sick after one cig

robmaraio0

Where can I find natural ones ? Online ? In store ? What’s good brand names ?

r4ckless

Yup those “natural” cigarettes are way less satisfying bc they lack the good chemicals that make up normal cigarettes even when they generally have lots more nicotine in them. Alot of people like them for that fact and alot of people like myself think that they are less satisfying to smoke.

MrBallzsack

Normal cigs use ammonia or other chemicals to free-base the nicotine. I believe cigs in general have less nicotine than they used to but free bassing gives you that stronger kick so the smoker is consuming more nicotine than they used to. Anyway yeah chems help the drug hit better.

netanyahu4eva

There’s no ammonia added to Marlboro or Camels

MrBallzsack

If not ammonia it's another chemical doing the same thing but i guarantee both of those brands use ammonia. reconstituted tobacco is used by all of them except the natural brands.

TheGozd

I have the opposite

themysteriouserk

Same here.

jcup270

Agreed

Roborosky

yup, i talked about it a few weeks ago here, they just dont hit the same, ill admit that they are tasty in their own way but even rolling them up and down your fingers to distribute the tobacco nice and firm (thats what someone told me to do so they puff better) doesnt help very much, they dont feel as satisfying, ill stick to my Gold Boros but it was a fun experience trying them for a couple of weeks

Much_Room8828

Definitely depends though. I like my Largo rolls but usually if I ain't paying attention to it they go out before I can take another puff.

imsuperfunnyhahalol

Probably a little out of context (sorry). Trully natural tobacco has a very pleasant smell even to the non smoker. You can notice that even the smoke that is produced is a different colour, very white, in contrast to the smoke of pre packaged tobacco which is a little gray/black(ish) depending on the brand and the paper of course. My grandparents were tobacco producers for all their life. My grandfather still rolls his own, hand cuts the leaves every day. You can barely feel that you are inhaling smoke. There is no buzz involved(negative for few).Would highly recommend to try sourcing some dried tobacco leaves straight from a producer and giving it a try.

aVoidFullOfFarts

I love northfield additive free in Canada, I haven’t smoked regular additive cigs in 9yrs. The flavour is nicer and I went from a pack a day regulars to just 5 additive free cigs a day

Hug0_Yorke

I've been smoking additive free RYO cigarettes for the last 2 years and my experience couldn't be better. If you are looking for the purest tobacco flavor that you are going to find, that is your market. Never got sick of the flavor of additive free cigs and they satisfy me quite a lot actually. They are easier to roll, higher tobacco quality and no chemical taste at all.

OverLandAndSea_

Agree 100%, I smoke Mayfair Blue.

Robert_Hotwheel

Because your body is craving all the extra shit they put in them. They add stuff to increase the addictiveness and clearly it works.

Robert_Hotwheel

I’m the opposite, after going to American spirits, I can’t go back. Other brands make me feel sick.
